On and on it goes...

Logan was off-duty. Finally. He managed to pull up in a nearby car park. The roads were practically clear and it would have been an easy ride back home…but no, he could not just yet. Night shifts were his forte but his boss had decided to send him home early.

Food was an essential piece of his kit when it came to overnight shifts, seeing that it was just past midnight, Logan had thought about it more…he should have stayed at the station. The one thing the Aussie had learnt whilst at the police station was to trust his gut instinct. His muscles tensed as he listened in on his surroundings, his hand grappling at the spot where his rifle would have been. An instinct that came to him naturally, thanks to his time spent in the army.

He got out his car and closed the door, locking it behind him and began to walk to the barricade. There was nothing but passing traffic below him, he turned around. Nothing. It was either his mind playing a nasty trick on him or there was something--someone around.

"Hello?" His accent bouncing around as an echo was produced into the darkness.

Logan shrugged, thinking it was best to not dwell on something that clearly wasn't happening. The Aussie began walking back to his car when a shadow caught his eye. Now, he knew when he was looking at a person and when he was looking at something he didn't identify, and he didn't identify the shadow.

It glared at him for a second longer before it took off. Logan made a split decision and chased after it…managing to find himself flying over a bonnet of an oncoming car.

"Bloody hell mate! Watch it!" Logan said, wiping his nose with a grimace. He was still looking to where the critter had gone off to.

Candalynne huffed gently, her breath showing as it came out of her mouth, it looked like smoke but it was just the carbon dioxide escaping her lungs. It felt cold as she shivered and hugged herself as she walked down the street. Her eyes wandered around her before resting on a shadowy figure passing by her, she blinked at first, trying to make out who it was - with no luck. She slowly thought of different possibilities inside her head, some of them she thought were stupid so she denied them completely.

"Must be some sort of burglar..." She muttered to herself quietly. "Or my imaginations." She said again, a little louder. Her eyes widened as they landed on a car going quite fast and knocking into a Human male. She blinked, thinking it was her imagination, but she ran up to the man. "A-are you alright sir?!" She called with no sign of worry on her face, she was emotionless - as usual.

Eric silently cursed the cold night air as he drew his long overcoat close to him, he had never really been very interested in pre-interplanetary travel era Earth. Too many people calling him a ghost or a malevolent alien if his Vortex Manipulator deposited him in the middle of a crowded street. However, his interest in the homeworld of his distant ancestors had somewhat risen after the incident in Scotland with the Time-Lord he knew only as "The Doctor". After that particular adventure Eric had decided to spend some more time on this era's Earth, and less time sipping on Sto spinebreakers in The Maldovarium.

Eric looked up and only barely made out the faint lights of the stars, he grunted and cursed this era's London for it's appalling levels of light pollution, of course every time he had done this in the past it had resulted in him thinking about the beautiful view of the stars from the Boeshane Peninsula, then his induction into The Time-Agency....then...well...Goldine....

He snapped himself out of this trance like trip down memory lane and wiped a tear from his cheek with a small sniff. Continuing down the darkened streets. He reached a nearby car park and peered through it's entrance, seeing a fairly middle-aged looking guy running across the interior of the car park, seemingly chasing something before being scooped up by the bonnet of a car and sent sprawling along the hard concrete floors.

Eric ran to see if the guy was alright, after all, even if his Manipulator hadn't warned him about this, didn't mean the guy wasn't in danger. As he got closer to the unidentified man he noticed a girl dressed in a gothic-looking dress with black and red accents also running up to the guy, she seemed to possess a somewhat blank expression on her face and seemingly hadn't noticed Eric yet. "Are you alright man? Looks like you took a nasty hit there." Eric said with a nod to the general direction the car responsible had sped away to.

Logan looked up at the sudden appearance of a woman, a gothic vibe coming off her. He wasn't really in the mood to chat nor to read facial expressions, but he nodded to signal that he was alright. Logan wanted to have taken down the license plate of the car but the driver had sped off, not even bothering to say a simple 'sorry.'

It was his lucky day, another arrival of a visitor. This time, a male. Logan looked up, stood up straight and cracked his back. He really did need to find the creature that started all of this, whatever it was.

"Yeah. I'm good." He croaked, suddenly his throat going dry. "You…haven't happened to see this…creature, have you?"

The question was given to either one of the two, but without warning, he heard the distant wheel screech, a reverse and became alert when the car was driving back towards him.

"Now that was on purpose, idiot!" He said, diving out of the way, hoping the others could have gotten out of the way in time. The car, this time, drove straight out of the car park, not bothering to do another run over of Logan.

He scratched the back of his head as he slowly rose to his feet, a sore look on his features. "Must not be my day, huh? Sorry, name's Logan Fletcher."

Candalynne looked up slowly at the arrival of another male who seemed concerned on the man's safety and health. She looked up to the car, reading the plate easily and memorized it inside her brain, whether it would stay as a good or a bad memory, she wouldn't know until later that day. She glanced back to the Human male whom had been hit with the car and she nodded in response at his confession on being 'okay' - as he put it - and she looked around them.

"The creature you speak of may be something different to what I saw... but I saw quite a large, shadowy figure with scary-looking eyes run past me and I didn't feel a good vibe from it." She explained with little emotion coming off her face. This regeneration was very stoic at times, especially around people she just met.

Candalynne's eyes snapped towards the car reversing towards them and she pushed Eric out of the way as she simply stepped a big step to the side while the car left them to go where ever it was supposed to be.

"It is never my day... and I am Candalynne Ariella." She said with a ghost of a smile. "Nice to meet you, both." She glanced at the second male as she spoke.

Eric noted the mysterious girl's name and voice, not able to place it. He smiled at the pair of them as his Vortex Manipulator gave a soft beeping sound, Eric moved his arm to see it's screen. A bio-scan image dominated the small screen, a reading of "Candalynne Ariella" accompanied by a skeleton, seemingly human...except for the two hearts that pulsed a warm red in the image's chest and the swirling, intricate circular symbols next to it. "That looks like.....oh no....not another one." he thought, remembering the spiky-haired adventurer savant he'd met in Scotland. Eric groaned internally, remembering all the trouble the first Time-Lord he had met had gotten him into.

Eric dismissed the bio-scan notification and looked up at the two. "Hi...I'm Eric, Eric Tempore." he said, in an unfocused tone as his attention was drawn once again to the Vortex Manipulator's screen. Another bio-scan had been completed, "Logan Fletcher" it read. Another skeleton, this one human, no abnormalities or discrepancies to be seen...at least this Logan guy wasn't a member of a legendary, supposedly extinct species.

"Sorry if I seem distracted it's uh....it's nothing. Anyways Logan was it? You just asked if anyone had seen a creature, now I'm assuming you're not a guy who regularly goes into car parks to initiate near-death experiences late at night, you were chasing something.....now I didn't see it personally but you don't strike me as crazy or drunk.  So, seeing as you both saw this thing..what do you personally think it might be?"

Logan listened in, nodded and pointed when she had described the creature that he had seen earlier on. "Yes, that's the little bugger. I mean, whatever it was? It didn't look too scary, more like a larger, darker Alsatian." The woman really didn't seem to care, did she? he shrugged the thought off, it wasn't god for him to judge without properly meeting the person.

That was when he heard the male's voice. "What? Who?" Logan wasn't sure whether the thing on his arm was some prop of sorts but he didn't look further onto it, sleep and pain combined made him drowsy. He fought sleep before, this was no difference.

"Nice to meet you Candalynne and Eric." He said with an offer of his hand for a handshake, Logan had stuck it out regardless of whether they shook it or not. "And, Eric? I'm pretty sure I'm not drunk. I' work as a security guard and don't have time to drink anything. So, I think…I'm just going to go with my previous description of a big, scary, Alsatian."

Without warning, he dropped to one knee. Reacting to this, Logan patted himself, finding a needle poking out just under his armpit. "Whu…whut…going…on…?" He slurred, attempting to get himself up and moving. Okay, maybe that car served as a distraction to pin whatever serum was going through his veins at the moment.
