Dream: The strenuous life. Simply put, living to encounter and overcome challenges.
History: TR was born a sickly asthamtic in New York but was inspired by accounts of men who'd served in wars and his own father. He decided to lead a strenuous and active lifestyle, and eventually overcame his asthma, becoming stronger. He continued to live a strenuous life for the rest of his days. TR attended Harvard, eventually dropping out of law school to become a state representative at 23. When both his mother and wife died on Valentine's day, he moved out west to live like a cowboy.
While on a boating trip, his boat was stolen by a gang. He pursued them for two weeks through the Dakotas, eventually arresting them and reaquiring his boat. He returned to New York and became commisoner of the NYPD. He often went undercover as a beat cop to prevent police corruption. In 1897, he was made assistant secretary of the navy. During the Spanish war, TR ordered Admiral Dewey to destroy the Spanish Navy. He then resigned his position, formed the rough riders, and fought in Cuba.
TR returned from Cuba a war hero, and decided to run for governor of NY. He was eventually made vice-president under McKinley, though the president was assasinated shortly after. As president, Roosevelt regulated trusts, built the Panama Canal, and conserved large swathes of land. He even won the Nobel Peace Price for negotiating the end to the Russo-Japanese war.
In one instance, he gave a two-hour speech right after being shot in an assasination attempt. He only had the bullet removed once teh speech was over. He also went on a safari and explored the Amazon in 1913, discovering a new river. He died January 7th, 1919. A friend noted that, "Death had to take him sleeping, for if Roosevelt had been awake there would have been a fight".

The Doctor is stuck under a flickering streetlamp, you are on the opposite side of the street. It's midnight, no moon or stars, the only lights around are the lamp the Doctor is under, and the light in front of a closed store you stand under.
The only way to the Doctor is to cross the dark street, easy, right? Wrong. This planet is well-known for being infested with Vashta Nerada. Any shadow anywhere could be infested with them. You have a small pack on your back with several items in it that you could use to get to him.
TR sat up and rubbed his head, looking around at his surroundings. A regular street, though the darkness stirred some primal fear within him. As if something within would destroy him if he came in contact with it. He decided to remain in the light for now, to preserve his health. His foot knocked against something and he looked down to find a small pack, not his. He leaned down and began tearing through the contents. He found seven items, no more, no less. Amused by the rubber duck, he squeezed it several times before slipping it into his pocket. Then he found the chicken leg. An idea came to him. Tossing it into the darkness, he watched unsurprised as it was instantly chewed up. So his instinct had been correct. Suddenly he noticed the figure, situated under a street lamp running parallel to his own. The light overhead was flickering. If it were to turn off completely the man would be in serious trouble. Frantically TR looked back inside the pack, finally pulling out the matches. He could probably have to light all matches and form a path. But it might be too narrow. He reached inside the pack and pulled out the flashlight, turning it on and off and admiring the new bit of technology. Though he was again wary of the path it would make, hoping for a better solution, he checked inside the pack again. He pulled out the sonic and while testing it out, accidently increased the light beam of his street lamp. Having finally found his solution, Theodore pointed the screwdriver at the other lamp and increased its beam as well, though it still continued to flicker. The two beams met in the center of the road, yet it was temporary as they were starting to fade. Realizing he had little time to spare, TR raced across the street, hauled the man over his shoulders, and raced back in time to evade the darkness. They could wait out whatever this was until sunrise.
