PostSubject: The Salvation   Tue Jul 23, 2013 1:48 am

The silver puddle was like a gateway, releasing monsters into the world. People disappeared, died, changed. The only warning sign that they were coming through was by looking at the mirror. The glass of the mirror would ripple like water when someone dropped something into the puddle. First, an arm would appear, reaching out into the air, grasping for it's prey. Then, a leg followed by a body. Eventually, the whole creature would be standing there in front of you, something you have never seen, something that was ready to kill you. A monster from your mirror, demons. "DEMONS EMERGE FROM MIRROR" "DEATH FROM DEMONS" "HOPE FOR SALVATION" All of these things read as the local newspapers headlines. Everyone knew of this, whether it was from the newspapers, or from experiencing it first hand. This was chaos, and the worlds only hope, was for someone to bring them salvation.

Camelia stood up from her bed, wearing her black tank top, plaid hairband, dark blue capris, tennis shoes and her locket. She walked over to the mirror, knowing she would never see the reflection. Her reflection had disappeared some time ago, just...gone. She pressed her hand against the cold reflective glass, though her reflection wasn't there. She wished she could go through the mirror and into the other world. But, that just wasn't possible. She let out a small sigh and rested her forehead against the glass. "Where did you go?" She asked herself, missing the fact that she used to always protect her reflection form the danger, but now? The danger was there. Something had caused the mirrors to turn into a passageway of sorts. She knew that. But, who? Who caused it? Camy still had yet to find that out. "Camelia! You get down here and bring me a beer!" Her father shouted up the stairs. "Get it yourself!" She shouted back. "Camelia Ann Jones!" He shouted. Camy growled and complied, not wanting to have the wrath of her father. Leaving the mirror to itself.

The Doctor strode out from the spiral staircase, fixing the cuff on the sleeve on his suit, "Hanna!" he called down, "Hurry we'll miss the transformation of the novanic solar system!" he shouted, turning to his control console with a sniff. Pulling the scanner over, he scanned through the time lines really quick, searching for anything odd or unusual; at first he didn't find anything, everything looked fine, until he came across modern day time lines. A news article flashed onto the scanner, immediately peaking The Doctor's interest, "Oi!" he called over his shoulder to his still missing companion, "Come here and have a look at this!!". As if on que, the TARDIS printed out a copy of the newspaper, which The Doctor folded and flipped to the front page, reading the headline once more and looking at the picture beneath it, "Man claims something tried to pull him through his mirror..says it was a demon from hell" he mumbled as he read through the subtitle beneath the picture.

Needless to say the story caught The Doctor's attention; the TARDIS immediately felt this and set coordinates, automatically traveling to them without The Doctor even knowing until a thud echoed throughout the entire interior. Once it did, he glanced over his shoulder to the time rotor and smirk then peered back down at the paper as he leaned up against the console, legs crossed.

Robin sighed, hanging upside down from the monkey bars of some random school playground. Today felt boring. Maybe she should go to somewhere more modern? 2030 playgrounds were... weird. She actually couldn't believe some of the things they were letting the kids play with. It took her an entire hour just to find one that still had monkey bars, and they were still made of some weird substance that she felt kind of uncomfortable touching, but whatever. Rolling her eyes, she gave up and put in some random coordinates on her manipulator, disappearing in a flash of light a few seconds later.

Reappearing in modern day London, she yelped. Why? Maybe because she forgot she was upside down when she left, so she landed on her head. Sitting up, she sighed, looking around to see where she ended up. "What? Really? Again?" Looking down at her wrist, she grumbled at the coordinates she put in. Of course she landed here, this was an intergalactic hotspot for time travelers for some reason. Standing up, she crossed her arms and began wandering down the street, looking for something to do here that she hadn't done already.

She came across a restaurant with a newspaper stand in front of it. The headline caught her eye - HOPE FOR SALVATION (because I'm so creative). Frowning, she walked up to the stand and looked down through the glass at the article. Well that was odd... Turning around, her eyes searched for anything out of the blue, or perhaps a certain certain box painted blue.

Looking at his reflection in the mirror of a subway station bathroom, Zane felt like something was wrong. The old man had just left the bathroom when he saw something in the reflection, something that didn't belong. It was an arm at first, then a leg. Zane was stuck standing there, not in fear but in awe. He thought that it was magnificent and extraordinary and wanted to see the whole thing. He got his wish soon enough and was slightly terrified. Okay, maybe he was completely terrified. What matter was that there was a creature coming out of the mirror. He took a moment to study it, it looked like a demon, something evil. He ran out of the bathroom and up the stairs to the street, looking back to see if the creature had followed him. He couldn't see it or anything, except for the steady stream of people entering and exiting the subway. He needed to tell someone.

He knew that the police wouldn't believe him, they would just laugh and force him to sit in front of mirror to prove that nothing had happened. So he went to a newspaper reporter and told him the story. The guy actually believed him! He said he would pass it along to his editor and it would most likely be in the paper in the next few days. He said that he would keep Zane's name anonymous so that he didn't get death threats or hate mail or any other special attention that he didn't want. Zane went on his way and for the next days, was very cautious near any type of reflective surface.

She sighed and turned behide her to see a Newspaper stand she looked at her Vortex Manipulator then back at the newspaper when something got her attention she grabbed the newspaper and looked at the the title then started reading the article and walking down the sidewalk she looked up from the newspaper and put it in her pocket,"Another day another alien." The Stranger, or Arthur Jurgens as he currently called himself, wandered down the cold wet streets of London. A folded newspaper was tucked under his arm with the headline: 'MIRROR MONSTER.' It told the tale of a bathroom in a local subway station where, supposedly, a beast of some kind had emerged from the mirror and attacked a young man who had only just escaped. It was quite a story. Arthur had seen stranger things than what the story claimed but he didn't know quite what to make of this. He was pretty sure it didn't concern him and so he decided he didn't care. Lighting a cigarette, he paused outside a shop window to take a smoke.

His eyes danced around him: they spotted an old man closing up the shop for the evening in a green cap that hid his face and with a long grey bushy beard, graffiti littering the wall of the shop in bright purple proclaiming 'the end was here' and 'salvation impossible', and he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the dirty grey shop window. He paid no notice to either and turned away to glance off into the distance, his eyes narrowed. He thought he could see a young girl appear in the distance. He blinked and she was out of sight again though. With a sigh, he inhaled from his cigarette again.

Behind him the old man yelped as a hand extended from the shop window, specifically from his reflection. It grabbed on his throat and refused to let go, clutching tightly. Then a leg stepped through pulling body forwards from behind. Its eyes glowed red with demonic fire and the man tried to scream but the hand wouldn't let him. It tightened until no air could escape in or out of the man's throat. He felt the sickening crack as his windpipe smashed and then his eyes rolled into the back of his head. The man's body was still and silent in death as the hand dropped it. The eyes flashed and the body disappeared. Then it stepped back into the mirror and disappeared itself, without a trace.

The Stranger spun around with a smirk on his face. His eyes scanned the area. "Thought I heard something..." he muttered, dropping his cigarette and stamping it out. "Must have been my imagination..." He set off in the direction of the young, skinny, redheaded girl he'd seen.

Robin sighed, not seeing anything too out of the ordinary. Or in the ordinary for that fact. Where was everyone? Crossing her arms, she leaned back against the stand and thought of where she could go next. This story wasn't in the newspaper for nothing, right? Something must have been going on here. Her eyes landed on a man heading in her direction - good, someone she could ask what was going on.

... Or maybe not. On closer inspection, he looked a bit, for lack of better words, creepy. Frowning, Robin side stepped and backed up, starting to move into the restaurant behind her. Wait, was he going for her? With that thought, she was turning around and strolling inside, hoping to hide in a booth until that guy went away.

Arthur pulled his trailing brown coat closer to him as he marched towards where he had sighted the girl. He could easily make her out now that he was closer from her notably red hair. She seemed to have spotted him, he supposed he ought to smile and seem friendly. He found such things did not come naturally to him. He decided against it on the grounds of laziness but scowled when she seemed almost to be running away. There was barely anyone around at this hour and given her strange arrival, he was not prepared to just let her go. He stayed silent as he continued to advance on the restaurant.

She slipped on her other shoe and made her way down the hall towards the console room at the first call of the Doctor. She was fastening her necklace around her neck when he called the second time, this time about seeing something. She heard the familiar sound of the thud that meant the TARDIS had landed. Odd, but not at the same time. He might have just grown impatient. As she came into the console room, she saw the Doctor reading a paper. Hanna raised and eyebrow at him, "What you reading?" She asked as walked over to him. She wore a grey tank top, white shorts,  and converse sneakers classic beach mint - Mint All Stars with a white sole and black lines. Also the sneakers feature silver coloured details and white laces. She also wore J. Crew denim shirt, Ted Rossi python bangles - sea foam, blue Nile bead bracelet in sterling silver and a links of London necklace.

Leaning against the railing across from the Doctor, she wondered where exactly they were. She knew that, by looking at it, the newspaper was modern, present time. That some Jam at the store was on sale and that someone's dog had just had puppies that were for free. Twisting the bracelet's one her wrist, seeming as they were actually there and it wasn't her bare wrist like usual, she knew she wouldn't rub her wrist raw, even if it was one of her quirks. The bracelets made a small tinkling noise as she twisted them around her wrist.

The Doctor glanced over his shoulder, back to Hanna as she entered the control room, gesturing immediately over to him and the scanner before turning his attention back to it. "Ever heard of the mirror monster headline and investigations?" He asked her, his eyebrow rising as he read through the last page then took a step back, placing his hands nonchalantly into his pockets, "Been popping up everywhere in the papers in the last few days. Gather up enough attention that even the TARDIS pin pointed it and showed it to me....there must be something going on then". Walking over to the other side of the controls, The Doctor looked over some of the TARDIS spec's, checking if there was anything wrong with her, "TARDIS matrix looks alright. No damages for viruses running through her..if the TARDIS brought us here to follow what was going on then that means this has dyer consequences in the time line continuum".

Turning to look behind her, Robin grimaced, seeing the man walk towards the restaurant. Maybe she should go hide in the bathroom where he couldn't come in? No, that's gross. A booth would be good enough, preferably one that wasn't right next to a window. Not caring that the sign specifically said to wait for someone to seat you, she quickly walked into the midst of the tables and looked around, finding a booth towards the back, not connected to a window. Success! She smiled a bit, rushing to sit there and pick up a menu, holding it up in front of her face. With a sigh, she realized how often that seemed to work in movies, and decided to duck her head down a bit as well.

"Alright..." Arthur muttered, "Hide and seek it is..." he pushed open the restaurant doors and glanced around. At first he couldn't see her, but he made out 3 people who were obscured in his vision. One behind a pillar, two behind menus. "Can I help you sir?" a voice said behind him. He spun around to find a young looking waiter looking at him uneasily. It occured to him that this was a restaurant and he was stood by a sign saying to wait to be seated. "Yes," he said slowly, "I'm meeting a friend here. I believe she's already here. Youngish girl. Bright red hair." The waiter nodded and pointed towards the back at one of the menu-hidden figures. "She only just got here," he whispered in a reassuring tone. Arthur nodded his thanks and passed the waiter a tenner. "Thanks mate," he said with a smirk, "We won't be ready to order for a while though I'm afraid." The waiter nodded and left him to it. Arthur considered the slow and forceful approach but decided against it. Instead he tried to look happy and friendly, he had no idea how well that worked. He marched quickly towards her table with a smile fixed on his face. "Don't be afraid..." he whispered as he got closer.

She gazed at the time Rotor for a few seconds, racking her brain for an memory of 'mirror monsters'. She shook her head, unable to find any information about them in her brain. She stood up straight as he continued and then walked around the Console, Hanna gathering that, by what he was saying, he was making sure the ship was okay. Walking over a few feet and resting her elbows on the console, she smiled at the Doctor. "So, there's some more trouble on Earth? In the UK?" She said more than asked, but it coming out as a question instead. She frowned a second. "Why is it always in the UK? It's like danger avoid every other continent." She said, giving a light laugh, the smile returning. "Anyways. We going to check it out?" She asked, actually meaning for this to be a question, even though, by the fact he had brought it up, there was the largest possibility they were. "Save the world, keep time from collapsing. Never gets old." She said, standing up straight again and smiling at him, clasping her hands behind her back and rocking on her heels.

The Doctor looked up from the control console and smiled, "Never gets old" he replied, seemingly mimicking his companions words before running over to the ramp and calling over his shoulder, "Come on". Leaving his trench coat, dangling on the coat rack to the right side of the door, The Doctor yanked open the doors and peered out onto modern day London, squinting his eyes to adjust to the sun light as he stepped out. "Yeah, i suppose London's got a bit of a bad luck streak when it comes to these sort of things" He admitted, peering around him with an eyebrow raised; the streets beneath him were damp, prominently glazed over with a sheet of water from a recent rain. The clouds were moving away in the sky, Columbus clouds making way for the bright, white, clouds and an open sky line. Everything in perspective looked normal, the people walking in and out of restaurants at the corners of the marketplace, cars jetting about through the streets and countless people seemingly covering every bit of visible walkways.

But something felt wrong to The Doctor, something was off, he just knew it, some may call it intuition, others insanity, but him, no, to him it was an every day normality. His eyes danced around the area around him before finally they landed on a vacant newspaper, draping over the edge of the fountain a few feet in front of him. Quickly dashing over, he sat down next to the paper and flipped it open, immediately welcomed by the sight of the newspapers headline Mirror Monsters, "Oh.." The Doctor mumbled, swiftly putting on his glasses, "You don't see that every day".

Robin flinched as she heard the man's voice, grimacing. Well this was great. Slowly setting the menu down on the table, she turned and looked up at the man, smiling nervously. "Of course I'm not afraid. Why would I be afraid of a random stranger following me into a restaurant and sneaking up on me?" Biting her lip, she tried to evaluate him in her head. It was smiling.. that was either a good sign... or she was about to be murdered by a lunatic. His whole general appearance was just... strange. Like he was meant to scare her or something. "So what exactly am I not being afraid of? Why are you following me?" Raising an eyebrow, she tried to act like she didn't feel like crawling out of the booth and running away.

"Point Taken." he muttered. He paused before answering her questions. "My name is Arthur Jurgens. Sort of. It'll do for now, let's not over complicate things. I was following you because I saw you," he paused again, "That wasn't what I meant." he decided. "I saw you appear, and I mean literally appear. I'm guessing Vortex Manipulator all though it's probably faulty if it dropped you here upside down. So my question to you is," his eyes narrowed and he almost seemed angry now, "who are you? and what are you doing in this time period?"

She thought over how complicated some things could be. How old looking things could be new and new could be old but the old could also me just as old as the new. It could be confusing, but at the moment, it made perfect sense. Because the old never truly gets old. 'Take him for instance.' She thought and then gave a small, short laugh and the shake of the head. She was glad she hadn't said that all out loud, they were on Earth, meaning he could just chuck her out if he wanted. Him shouting for her to come on brought her thought into focus on the possible adventure on hand. He was out the door before she could really make it down the ramp. A light chuckle, it was rare to see him going on an adventure without his trench coat.

Shutting the TARDIS doors behind her, she got a quick look around. Everything looked about the same. Just like it would any other day, not like there were these 'mirror monsters' walking about. But the scary did tend to hide in the shadows, didn't it? He eyes settled on the Doctor by the fountain, reading yet another newspaper. Walking over she sat down next to him, taking a peek over his shoulder at the article. "Why didn't you just bring the one from inside the TARDIS?" She asked, skimming over the article, wanting to read it all before he set it down. "Nice glasses by the way." She said, giving a smile without looking at him, reading the last few sentences of the article. "So." She said, "'Mirror monsters'. Guess we better find ourselves a mirror then, eh?" She said, partly asking as well but more of a simple statement.

The Doctor skimmed over the newspaper before flopping it down onto the concrete next to him, releasing a sigh and peering up at the sky, "Yeah..i'm not exactly familiar with fighting with mirror monsters..or mirrors for that matter. Well....i have but not like this..not with the mirrors attacking people" he mumbled, pulling his attention down from the sky and over to the surrounding buildings and plaza. Then, after pondering for a moment about his past adventures with mirrors and attacks, he proclaimed, "Well...never mind, i lied. I have..long time ago but i'm pretty sure it isn't the same thing" he assured as he stood up and flipped his glasses back into his breast pocket of his suit.

Quickly looking around, The Doctor rose an eyebrow, immediately pointing out something, "If all these attacks are happening then...why aren't the people afraid?" he asked rhetorically, not truly meaning for Hanna to answer, "There's mirrors everywhere in the marketplace. The reflection of the glass windows of these shops. If it were something inside of the mirrors then they would attack through every mirror..using the universe behind the glass to go wherever they pleased but instead they keep themselves to house mirrors...things that humans most commonly refer to as mirrors while in actually a mirror is anything with a reflection in it....can't put my finger on it but..there's something going on Hannah..".

Robin giggled nervously, trying to figure out how to explain it without giving anything away. Honestly she didn't mind much, but this guy seemed shady, and if he was a part of Torchwood, she certainly didn't want him to know exactly who she was. "I'm from the future, New Earth, but I sort of hang around this place. I'm just a traveler, I swear." That seemed vague enough, she just hoped it was specific enough for him to go with it. She really didn't need ANOTHER person after her right now, especially one who was big enough to kill her with just a couple punches. "If I disturbed anything of yours, I'm sorry, I didn't really mean to land that way or anything, I just sort of did. That kind of happens when you forget you're upside down before you teleport." She smiled weakly, trying to see if she could change the subject or confuse him enough to the point where he'd leave.

Jenny uncrossed her arms looking back at the newspaper,"This doesn't make sense..." She sighed looking up at the sky then back at the newspaper,"Everyone seems so..." She looked around,"Calm..." She put her hands in her pockets blinking,"Odd..." She blew some hair out of her face and looked at the people thinking,"If someone was almost killed by a reflection in a mirror why do they just go around normally...Does no one read the news or watch it now a days..." She frowned stopping she looked at the newspaper again reading through the subtitles again,"Odd..." She rolled up the newspaper and started thinking about the situation again...

Jurgens smirked. He was surprised he hadn't seen her around before if she 'hung out' here often. He knew most of the people around London. The ones that hadn't disappeared anyway. "A traveller..." he muttered, "Something we have in common." he straightened his coat. He seemed to think over her story one last time before he nodded. "Fair enough," he said turned to leave.

She nodded and sat regularly, not looking over his shoulder anymore, as she watched the people walk by. The seemed so fearless, or at least not as scared as they should. It was like nothing was wrong. Like the article was just someones pure imagination. But that couldn't be right. It just didn't feel like it was right. The Doctor's voice brought her back from her thoughts. When he stood up, she looked up at him, her eyes squinting slightly against the bright sun. After a few seconds of looking up at him, her eyes started to hurt from the sun so she looked back at the people rushing by behind him, listening to him as he spoke. "You're right. They should be scared." She said, tracking different people with her eyes as they walked by, going about their daily lives. "Maybe it's not just a reflective surface. Maybe it's the mirror itself." She said, tracking a different person with her eyes.

The windows made it look like there were twice the people there, but she knew different. The fountain was running, disrupting the water, so it wasn't very much of a reflective surface. The way the people just walked right by, no thought or care in the world, maybe they knew something that her and the Doctor didn't. Hanna's eyes widened slightly, only so much that she was looking regularly, having been squinting again. She looked up at the Doctor. "You don't look into a window and study yourself. Not often. You look into a mirror at home, in the bathroom. Anywhere inside. Never outside. Because outside is to open. Anyone can see the reflection." She said, not caring that the sun was glaring into her eyes. "If you look around, you don't see anyone looking into a compact mirror. Usually you do. It's like they know that the windows are safe. Like the mirrors at home are..." She closed her eyes and looked down, rubbing her eyes with her hand, not finishing the sentence, but instead beginning a new one. "Maybe we should find a mirror. See if one of these 'mirror monsters' come." She said, still rubbing her eyes.

The Doctor nodded his head, listening to Hanna's intake carefully and intently, inputting her view with her's as he continued to ponder about the mirror monster's true identity. "That's what i was hoping they weren't" He mumbled underneath his breath before sniffing and turning back around to Hanna, looking at her for a moment as she rubbed her eyes. Estimating mentally from where the sun was hitting her face and where it really was, The Doctor took a step to the left to block out the sun with the back of his head, "Anyways" he said, getting back on track as he placed his hands into his pockets, "Nice idea by the way." he commented, noting her good reasoning and plan, "Mind going mirror shopping with me then?". Smiling, he gestured, with his head, for her to follow him as he began to turn around, "Come on. Allons-y" he mumbled, fully turning around and beginning his walk over to the surrounding shops across the road.

Locating one shop that had some mirrors out front for display, The Doctor walked over to it, immediately noticing the amount of people walking by it. None. Everyone seemed to find their way from having to walk past it, either doing a elongated walk around it or walking across the street. Raising his eyebrow, The Doctor opened the door and stepped through, his eyes meeting the un-maned counter with the cash register empty, having been pulled out as if robbed or whomever worked there, made a mad dash out. "Looks like nobody wants to work here..i wonder why" He mumbled, turning and locking the door behind Hannah to make sure nobody else entered before turning back around and walking over to the wall completely filled with mirrors of various sizes and frames.

Jenny sighed and put the newspaper back into her pocket and looked at a Restaurant across the street with a familiar she ran across the street and she entered the Restaurant she looked at Robin,"Hi Robin." She looked around then at the man who seemed to be with her,"Who are you?" She asked crossing her arms looking between Robin and The man waiting for an answer.

Robin felt like she had barely blinked when Jenny was there with them, questioning the strange man. "Um... that's a good question... Arthur I think it was. That's all he told me." She shrugged, kind of glad Jenny came in. Arthur was about to leave, so she didn't want to follow him. He was kinda scary. Now that she was thinking on it, who was he? "No wait, hold on, you know what a vortex manipulator is. And time travel. So who are you? You can't just be some random bloke who stumbled upon the information. Who are you?" She frowned, crossing her arms and glaring at Arthur. This guy was really fishy and she didn't like it. For all she knew, he was Torchwood and she was dead.
