The sounds of screams reached Sonya's ears as she crouched on the edge of a building, watching as a nearby cafe burned to the ground with interest. She had happened upon the scene in London right after it started, so had a chance to watch the flames spread across the roof and burst from the windows. In truth, it gave her plenty of ideas, but none of them would work for her now... Standing back up, she tossed her hair over her shoulder and turned around, walking back to the TARDIS and stepping inside. She had to pay a visit to a very old friend... But for now, he was being elusive so she would have to settle for someone else at the moment.

Fiddling with the controls, she set them to land a mile to the north, setting down in a small space between two buildings. Stepping back out, she studied the scene for a few seconds, her golden eyes glittering in the sunlight as she shut the door behind her. She knew he was nearby, he had to be. Where else would he be if he couldn't travel? Tucking her hands into the pockets of her tight jeans, she strode along the open park, already spotting the familiar shock of hair sticking straight up on a man sitting on a bench near the center of the park.

Stopping right behind him, she studied the Doctor in silence. This one she hasn't seen in many years. Since he first showed up and they ran into the Krilotaines in fact... Slowly making her way around the bench, she sat beside him and stared out over the small pond across from them, waiting for the man to notice her.

The fact that he had fallen asleep, on a park bench, in the middle of the night, was embaressing. But that's what he got for trying to do an allnighter trying to fix his signal locating device. It had given out on him, being made with cheap earth technology, and he had spent many an hour trying to reroute wires. But it was stubborn, and no matter how hard he soniced it, it refused to work. But he was stubborn too, and he had almost gotten it when...when suddenly there were birds flying up in the sky. At first he had wondered whether the birds were flying south already, and why the clouds had cleared, before realizing that the sky was light. And while he was pondering the sudden change to day, he remembered thathe had one more circuit to try rewriting. And as his hand moved over his chest for the device, he realized it was no longer there.

He sat up suddenly, his hands frantically searching around his suit and trenchcoat. His hands went into his bigger on the inside suit pockets, and his not so bigger on the inside trenchcoat pockets. And while he found an assortment of items, mostly in his suit, he did not find the device. Now where was his sonic screwdriver? His searching became more frantic, until he located the cyllinder on the ground at his feet. Well that was a relief, he thought as he scooped it up and placed it into trenchcoat pocket. But where was his signal device? Jumping up from the bench, he ran around it and down the park lane, looking for the person who had stolen it from him in the night. Not that there was any point in doing so, but for some reason it seemed like a good idea to try. Maybe it wasn't far, if they couldn't make heads or tails of it. And it certainly looked like a dead mess, which it was. Only a close to working dead mess.

"Ahah!" he said outloud, and to no one in particular, as he passed by a trash heap. Obviously some drunk had decided it wasn't worth much, and discarded it. Gleefully he picked it up, only to groan as he stared balefully at the contraption. Whoever HAD dropped it, had done some damage. Now not only did he have to reconfigure the circuit board, but he had to fix one of the wires. With a grumbling he moved along the park, not noticing the distinctive sound of the Tardis materializing as a flock of birds moved over head with a terrible squawking. Plopping himself down in another park bench, he whipped out his sonic screwdriver, buzzing the device furiously. It came on with a flicker of lights, causing a grin to appear on his face, before just as suddenly going out again. It was too much to hope for, he supposed, as he continued buzzing it. He was so focused on it, that he barely noticed the flash of movement in his peripheral vision, until the person was sitting near him. Even then, he didn't even offer a glance, merely pursed his lips as he turned the screwdriver off and pulled out a wire.

"Not now, I'm busy," he said, as if talking to a companion who had just interrupted his very delicate work. Well, it WAS very delicate.

Sonya let out a low laugh, ignoring his obviously bad attitude as she turned her head and locked her gold eyes on him with a curious smile hovering on her lips. "Busy doing what exactly, Doctor? Fiddling with yet another useless item?" She asked in a cold voice, her eyes flashing slightly as she said his name. Falling silent once more, she watched as he fiddled with the thing in his hands, already spotting the problem with it but deciding it would be more entertaining to watch him struggle with the thing than help him with it.

Reaching up, she pulled her hair back into a pony tail and leaned her elbows on the back of the bench, leaning against them in a relaxed pose, one leg crossed over the other, the hanging foot shaking idly while watching the various birds fly over the pond and land in it to take a cooling swim in the already hot day. "It will never work." She said suddenly, tilting her head back and to the side, resting it on her arm as she watched him with a penetrating gaze. "You might as well give up like you do on everything else you do, right Doctor?"

Her voice came out in an angry hiss near the end as she watched him, daring the man to do anything as she glared at him. The focus of all of her hate, all of her anger, sitting right beside her and he acted as if he didn't know her! How dare he treat her like some... Human! Reaching over, she snatched the item from his hand and turned it around in hers for a moment before spotting the loose connection she saw earlier and connecting it before handing it back to him. "There, now that it's fixed. Pay attention to what I have to say, boy."

"What are you talking about..." the Metacrisis Doctor said with frustration, only half listening to what the person beside him was saying. There he almost had it, and...suddenly the device was snatched from his hands, and he found himself staring at the woman beside him. She connected the device with relative ease, which both surprised him and embaressed him. I was just getting to that... He took it back, examining the device to make sure it really was working. Yes it really was, this woman was probably rather good with electronics. He stuffed it into his pocket, the screwdriver following it.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" he asked her blankly as he looked back at her. She was just like any ordinary human, but there were something strange about her. Of course, the color of her eyes was an indication of this. No ordinary human had those bright yellow eyes. Well, no human was ordinary if they knew the Doctor. But she seemed angry at him for something, and he couldn't fathom why. He hadn't met her before, and she hadn't met him, had she? He was mostly linear, except the time he used a vortex manipulator, and the time he used his past self's Tardis. Oh no, was this another case of the Interfector? He hoped not...

"Ah, yes the face. Of course you wouldn't recognize me." Sonya murmured to herself, debating on the best way to tell him without the man wanting to run away. Reaching into her pocket, she fiddled with her sonic before pulling it out and tossing it over to the Doctor. "There, you ought to recognize that beauty." She said with false cheer, the smile on her face not reaching her eyes as she turned them back onto his, seemingly staring directly through him and to his thoughts.

Leaning over so her nose was inches from his, Sonya forced him to look in her eyes from the proximity. "Shame you don't remember me, Doctor. It would make this a lot easier... Though, I do suppose playing a guessing game with you could be fun as well." Standing up she took her sonic back from his hands and nodded over to the TARDIS just across the way. "Come on then, things can be explained better once I'm in a more familiar environment." She said idly, her thoughts already turning from the man next to her and moving forward to what could be done.

The Doctor stared back at her, his gaze only flickering away as she tossed the sonic screwdriver at him. He caught it with both hands, and just stared at it. It was like his, only different...it had been a while since he had seen this particular device. He had even used it to stop the krillitanes. His brown eyes moved up to hers again, staring back into those yellow eyes. It couldn't be... he thought as he stared back at her, his eyebrow twitching as his eyes carried a slightly alarmed look. Had this person done something to Sonya? No wait...she didn't just have Sonya's device... She knew him and hinted that he didn't remember her, that her face had changed. Could this really be Sonya? Was Sonya really a...? But her eyes, they didn't appear to be her. They appeared to be more...sinister, angry. They didn't have the same jovial tone and need to keep moving that he saw in them when he first met her.

He stood up as she took the sonic from his hands, and indicated the path. If he looked closely enough, he could see blue between the buildings. It was his Tardis, he decided, as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and began walking. How had he missed hearing it land? Was he getting that human? That he ignored everything around him? Or had she landed when he wasn't around. Though he had been there all night. He SHOULD have seen it. And then there was the mystery of the woman he was walking beside. Was she Sonya? If so, that meant only one thing...that Sonya was a timelady. But the timelord race was gone, he was the last one. The only one left had been the Master, and he died in his arms. She COULDN'T be a timelord. Then again, he thought that the Interfector couldn't be either, and he had managed to force his way out of the timelock. How had Sonya escaped the end of the timelord race? What HE had caused?

"It shouldn't be," he said finally as they neared the Tardis. "But timelords seem to be popping up lately. I thought it was just me, then I ran into the Master again...and he died...and then you, and then the Interfector..." He glanced over at Sonya, his eyes regarding her seriously, but not accusingly. "How did you escape the timelock?"

Sonya paused with her hand on the door, a sharp pain shooting through her hearts as she thought back to her past that had finally unlocked to her. "I was never in it... Hiding on Earth, not by my choice either." She said finally, her voice taking a tone that indicated the topic was closed before she pushed the doors open and walked into her newly decorated TARDIS control room.

A deep red shone from the ceiling, reflecting the ground as she walked along, her shoes moving smoothly along the marble floor as she walked around the pillars reaching up that were surrounding the controls. The room, though being brightly lit, seemed darker than it should have considering the marble floor and pillars were black as night with small flecks of some shining rock or metal imbedded into them to imitate stars. Without glancing back at the Doctor, Sonya began to mess with the controls in front of her, having the door shut behind him and locking it remotely with a single push of a button. "Now..."

She turned around and leaned against the edge of the console, her arms folded over her chest as she studied the man with a small frown. "Figure out who I am yet? Pray you have the right answer, Doctor. I have a very short temper now and days." She added, a delicate eyebrow raising up at her comment before pushing herself away from the controls and striding around the room, her soft footsteps echoing loudly in the room as she studied the decorations with what looked like pride. "Do you like it? I call it my Cathedral now... A sanctuary for myself if you will. A place to rest and be away from others. Those that irritate or anger me... Come to think of it, that's everyone." She said with a cold laugh, stopping behind the Doctor, her eyes turned up towards the ceiling and studying her red reflection with a blank expression.

"Tell me, Doctor. How many have you distracted from their lives, from whatever course they were on. How many lives have you put on pause simply from showing up?" She asked suddenly, turning her gold eyes on him with a searing gaze. "How many people have you ruined because of your actions? Picking them up, showing them the wonders of the universe, then dropping them back off without a single thought to how they might be afterwards? Do you realize you've ruined so many because of that? Their lives are boring now because you showed them what it was like, to live your life. You had them stop what they were doing with their own lives and join yours for a mad dash through a course of months. Only to drop them off again without a goodbye." Walking around him so she stood in front of him, Sonya stared into his eyes with a scowl. "You ruined my life with your silly little idea of fun. I could have been myself, I could have been whole again so many years ago if I had never run into you." She hissed in anger, hands suddenly clenching into fists before she spun around and began pacing the room again, her anger vanishing as quickly as it had appeared, leaving her the calm figure once again.
