| Bailey looked around as the snow fell to the ground softly, every flake falling around her stuck to her clothes. "I can't stand the snow, all cold and wet and just no. I don't like it." She wrapped herself tightly with her jacket and scarf before stepping inside a nearby coffee shop. "I guess a cup of hot chocolate would warm me up." she muttered to herself as she fished through her pockets for what money she had and approached the counter. "Um, how much for a cup of cocoa?" |

| Randi looked up at the woman standing in front of her and smiles warmly. "Two pounds for a small, three and a half for a medium, and four for a large." She listed the prices confidently as she continued to smile at her customer. She was almost forcing the "peppiness" as she was utterly bored out of her mind. | |

| Bailey looked down at the money in her hand and gave her all of it. "One large please." She smiled back, rubing her hands together for warmth. "Cold out tonight, seems it might snow forever." |

| Randi rang it up and grabbed a large cup. She went to the despenser and filled the cup then put whipped cream on top. She put the lid on the cup and hands it to Bailey. "here you go. It's really warm by this machine if you need to warm up." | |

| "Thank you." Bailey smiled at her and moved closer to the machine. "I've never really liked the snow before. Always so cold and uninviting." She pulled her bag closer to her, looping the strap around her ankle. |

| Randi chuckled lightly as she wiped the equipment down. "I love to watch it snow as long as I'm nice and warm inside." She sighed and checked the time on her phone. Almost quitting time. she looked at the girl and had a crazy notion. "Hey, it's almost time for me to go home... Do you have anywhere to go?" | |

| Bailey looked up at her, her eyes full of shock and surprise before looking down at her cup, refusing to look the clerk in the eye. "Um. Yyes.." Bailey didn't want to intrude on the girl's night as well, but something made her want to tell the clerk the truth. The truth that Bailey hadn't had a place to go since she left the foster home. |

| Randi looked at the girl concerned, she could tell this wasn't the truth. She timed out and began putting on her coat and scarf. "You sure? I got a spare room at my flat and it'd be nice to have some company." She smiled sincerely. | |

| Bailey's head snapped up. "I wouldn't want to impose, I'm already taking up your time here, plus I wouldn't want to be seen with me." She spun around, dragging the bag with her. The duffle slid across the tile and landed with a hard thud. |

| Randi pulled her arm through the sleeve of her coat and reaches to stop the girl. "Wait! please, I don't mind really..." It was apparent that she wasn't going to take no for an answer. | |

| Bailey looked down at her bag before throwing it onto her back and nodding. "If you insist, but I warned you." She smiled and a warm feeling filled her. "I don't think I've had someone trust me before, so this is going to be new." The bow hidden in her bag peaked out barely, just enough for her to grab it when needed, but not enough for police officers to immediately notice it, her initials showing just before the material of her bag. |

| Randi smiled as the girl agreed. "Oh, and I'm Randi by the way." She holds her hand out to her. "Sorry, I know you hate the cold, but we'll have to walk. I don't have a car." | |

| "Neither do I." Bailey shook her hand before looking outside and taking a drink of her hot chocolate. "I'm Bailey Jane Canttell. Please, call me Bailey. I don't mind walking, kind of fond of it actually, it's just the cold." She shivered and pulled her jacket closer to her. "It's nice to meet you." |

| Randi smiles and begins walking with Bailey to her flat. It wasn't far away and the got there in no time. Randi threw off her coat and scarf on a coffee table beside the door. "Make yourself at home. I'm gonna make some chips, want some?" She said as she went into the kitchen. | |

| "I would love some." Bailey let herself relax as she looked around the flat. "This is so adorable, I love how you decorated!" She carefully set her bag down by the door, taking off her coat and scarf. "Are you always alone?" |

| Randi goes to work, pulling the bag of fries out of the freezer and spreads them out on a cookie sheet. She sets the oven and puts the sheet of fries in to bake. "Thanks! It's just stuff I've collected over the years." She set a timer and came into the living room and sat on the couch. She frowned slightly at the question. "Yeah, pretty much." Randi fidgetted for a second before grabbing a pack of cigarettes and standing up. "Hey, I'm gonna step out on the balcony for a smoke. You can join me if you want, or stay where it's warm. It's up to you." | |

| Bailey took a seat and looked around once again as the smell of fries cooking filled the room. "No thank you, you go ahead. I'd much prefer to keep warm." She sighed as she looked down at her bag and noticed the bow sticking out. "I still need to put some things away correctly." Bailey looked pulled her bag closer to her, resting a hand on her bow. |

| Randi shrugged and started toward the balcony door. "Suit yourself. Hey, holler at me if something catches fire." She slipped out the sliding glass door and lit her cigarette. | |

| Bailey started to laugh and pulled the bow out. Carefully she ran her fingers over the wooden frame down to the strings. This was her bow, she earned the bow through the worse times of her life, but it was hers. She kissed the initials before telling it 'goodnight', letting it fold into itself to fit perfectly in its black case. "I really need to remember to put you away before going into shops." She told the bow as she gently placed in the case and latched it. The fries were starting to smell extremely good, reminding her of how hungry she had been. "What do you think, Aldine, can we trust this girl?" Bailey asked her bow, knowing she would never get a reply. |

| Randi puffed on her cigarette as she thought. She wasn't exactly sure what made her invite Baily to stay but she wasn't going to question it. This girl needed somewhere to stay for the night. She sighed, and put out the cigarette and went inside. She went to the kitchen and took the fries out of the oven and put them in a bowl. She went to the living room and sat on the couch, passing the bowl to Bailey. "Chip?" | |

| "Thank you." Bailey smiled as she reached for a chip, "They smell delicious." She sat quietly, munching on the fry for a minute before turning to Randi. "They taste just as great as they smell, do you always cook this well?" She could taste the crisp-ness of every bite from the fry, the lingering taste of potato, a small bit of natural oils. Nothing she had ever tasted before leaving for military school. |

| Randi grinned and chuckled lightly as she grabbed another fry. "All I did was thow them in the oven." She munched on the fry happily. She grabbed the remote and looked at Bailey. "Wanna find a movie? I'm gonna get a drink. Want one?" | |

| "A little water would be great." Bailey said as rubber her Bleary eyes and put her bow case back into her bag. "I haven't had time for any telly, so I am not sure what to watch. Anything you choose would be perfect." She started to hum to herself a jodie from the boarding school as she munched on chips and relaxed for a bit. |

| Randi returned with the drinks and smiled. She handed Bailey her a glass of water and sat back down on the couch. "Here ya go, and are you sure?" She grabbed the remote and began flipping through the channels, grabbing a chip occasionally. "If ya see anything interesting, let me know." | |

| "To be perfectly honest, I haven't ever watched telly." Bailey sat back, drinking her water. She let herself relax as she watched the colors fill the screen. "What do you normally do when you get home?" Bailey smiled and laughed at something funny on one of the random channels. "It's been so long since I've been able to relax like this, thank you." |
