Occupation: college student, pursuing a degree in genetic engineering
Status: regular citizen, not much extra money (being in college and all)
Hair: shoulder length, dark brown (almost black)
Eyes: light brown
Figure: slim, not very muscular or curvy
Other: pale from not going outside much, heavy burn scarring on right arm, hand, and both legs from childhood accident
Clothing: dresses more for comfort than appearance; most of the time in just jeans and long-sleeved tee, fond of wearing a denim jacket when weather is appropriate
Family: Ashley and Michael Henderson (parents), Adalyn Henderson (older sister, deceased)
Personality: Lea is socially awkward and fears disappointing those who depend on her. She has a tendency to spout off random facts when she doesn't know what to say. She is quietly intelligent, cautious, and observant. Lea is fiercely loyal to her friends and openly hateful of her enemies. She is not the best at interpreting body language and is bad at picking up people's emotions. She talks quickly and startles easily, causing her to come off as hyper.
Strengths: Lea is excellent at quickly observing and analyzing situations, relying more on her intelligence than anything else. She is cautious and doesn't dive headlong into perilous situations, though she is willing to take risks for what she believes in.
Weakness: She is bad with crowds; being with too many people makes her anxious. Because she's bad at dealing with others' emotions, she can offend and anger people without realizing. She can also get very shy and often finds it difficult to speak up for herself.
Likes: Long books, walks through nature, experimenting in the lab
Dislikes: people staring at her scars, large crowds, talking about herself
Dream: Lea aims to make advances in genetics and make the world a better place through science. As a child, she wanted to travel to exotic places, but she has since resigned herself to a more sedentary life.
History: Lea Henderson was born on the east coast of the USA. She had a happy childhood and a close bond with her older sister, Adalyn. Lea was always top of the class in school and had a small but close circle of friends. Adalyn guided her through social interactions and gave her advice in everything from boys to algebra.
However, everything changed the year she turned 12. That summer, she and Adalyn went to sleep-away camp by a lake in New York. The cabin they roomed in caught on fire during their 3rd night. Lea survived with serious burns, but Adalyn later died in the hospital from her injuries. Lea was devastated. She withdrew from society, refusing to see her friends or talk with anyone about what happened.
Eventually, Lea came to cope with the loss, throwing herself into her studies to distract herself from the pain. She became shy and took to wandering the woods near her house when she wanted to escape her parents. At the age of 18, she moved to the UK for college. She currently attends the University of Birmingham.
HOW DID YOU FIND US?: googling "role playing doctor who"
This section is for you to show us your roleplaying skills. What is going to happen is you will read a standard problem for your character to react with. What we are looking for is a proper Roleplay reply, standard character, explaining what you would do in the situation.
Rules: Please make your response at least a six to nine sentance paragraph.
Please make your responses in 3rd person (ex: Sonya blinks her eyes.)
You need to explain your roleplay, use as many details as you possibly can to describe what you are doing and what is going on around you.
The Doctor is stuck under a flickering streetlamp, you are on the opposite side of the street. It's midnight, no moon or stars, the only lights around are the lamp the Doctor is under, and the light in front of a closed store you stand under.
The only way to the Doctor is to cross the dark street, easy, right? Wrong. This planet is well-known for being infested with Vashta Nerada. Any shadow anywhere could be infested with them. You have a small pack on your back with several items in it that you could use to get to him.
The Doctor's Sonic screwdriver
A chicken leg
Book of matches
A rubber duck
Frowning, Lea looked over her situation. The Doctor was stranded, and all she had was her pack. Wait, her PACK! Reaching behind her, she tried to pull out her torch... and withdrew a chicken leg. Just to be sure that the shadows really were Vashta Nerada, she threw the leg. It was stripped clean in milliseconds. "Great,"
she muttered. "I just can't get a break today."
Her second try at getting the torch yielded the sonic screwdriver. Seeing as she had it out, she slipped it in her pocket for easy access later. Then, finally, she grasped the torch and pulled it out. She shined it into the swarm of shadows, noting that it took a few seconds for them to slide back into place once the beam moved. Summoning her courage, she pointed the torch in front of her and ran as quickly as she could, clearing a path through the shadows that closed almost instantly behind her. Breathing heavily, she handed the Doctor his screwdriver and waited for him to tell her the plan.
Assuming he had one this time, anyway.
