Winter reluctantly released its grip on the planet Earth; it's people rejoicing in the coming season, grabbing candy left and right and the parents beginning to shimmy up the sleeves of the bunny costumes. But when the holiday came, the eggs left behind by the infamous Easter Bunny weren't those by the children's parents...

New York City, North America....

A subtle breeze howled from the northwest, bringing in the new day and the morning of a world wide holiday. Especially for a young girl named Emily, her eyes shooting wide open as a grin emerged onto her face. Bursting from her bed, she quickly rushed to the front door and opened it. Her parents glanced over their shoulders from the kitchen counter. Her father turning back to the newspaper with a smirk, "Better go out there and see where she goes..you never know, she might want to go collect them immediately" he mumbled to his wife who was already making her way after her daughter. "Em! You need your basket sweet heart!" She called after her, peering around the corner of the open door to find her daughter standing over a large golden egg.

"Mommy where did you find this one?" Emily asked her mother as she walked to the side of her, peering up to her for an answer. Quickly, her mother placed her hand over Emily and gestured her back to the house as she peered around the neighborhood. From the apartment buildings, to the surrounding closely pushed together homes, golden eggs lay scattered. Both children and their parents curiously looking at them, but none with the courage to touch them.

The television flickered on, forcing the image of a newscaster through the static. Whatever you do..do not touch them! Do not touch the eggs! They are deadly! There have been numerous accounts across the world of people dying minutes after coming into contact! Board up your homes and stay there! Do not touch them!!

UNIT HQ 3 Months later....

The TARDIS sat in the corner of the biology lab in the lower east wing of the UNIT HQ. The same place it had always stood when The Doctor regularly came to his job, when he was needed back in the day. Now he was needed more than ever. "Almost one million people have died after touching the golden eggs world wide" Kate Stewart told the back of The Doctor, his form leaned over a glass case containing one of the golden eggs. "What was the cause?" The Doctor asked Kate, squinting as he peered through his brainy specs with an arched eyebrow, "Radiation poisoning..vast amounts transmitted within seconds of interaction. Whatever it is..it leaves the system almost immediately after the host is dead".

Kate stopped as Osgood entered the room, handing her a file before turning her attention over to The Doctor, a slight smirked emerging onto her face. "I always like it when he comes.." She mumbled out loud, much to the surprise of Kate who flashed her a smirk before turning to The Doctor. "We've contained most of them..and by most i mean the ones that we know about. It will take some time..do you know what they are?" Kate continued, stopping as she posted a question to The Doctor which forced him to pull his attention away from the egg and direct his body and attention to the infamous duo. "I'll need some different opinions on it since i can't touch it...all my thoughts are urging me to touch it. Thing is..i don't know if their actually mine..or the..well..egg's".

Nel knocked on the door of her parents' house, a grin plastered on her face. Maybe it wasn't typical for people to be this invested in the holiday - especially at her age - but she'd take time with family any day. Perhaps people just didn't value their siblings, aunts, and uncles as much as she did, and that... Well, that was a shame. Knocking again, the near-adult fiddled with the tote in her hands. She made it herself with some supplies she may or may not have "borrowed" from work. It wasn't the best quality it could have been, but she was proud of it. It wasn't important anyway, just a little thing to hold some sweets in, but she was feeling enthusiastic, so why not?

The door opened to reveal a face she was far more eager to see than her old mum and pop. 'Hey, Happy Easter!' Her brother exclaimed, wrapping the girl in a hug before she'd had the chance to utter a word. Giggling, she patted his back with her free hand and backed out of the embrace, a cheesy smile plastered on her face. 'Oh come on it isn't like we're long lost siblings or anything, I was only on the phone with you an hour ago.' Sticking out her tongue, she invited herself inside, closing the door carefully behind her. 'What do you mean we were on the phone?' 'Hm?' Spinning around, she shot him a questioning look to counter his confused one. 'We haven't talked in a few days. Are you forgetting again?' Nel's face arranged itself into an embarrassed scowl as she crossed her arms, the basket of candy dangling from her fingers. 'No, of course I'm not forgetting. I just sort of... Didn't.' By this point, Kyle knew better than to pester her about taking her meds, so he dropped the subject.

'Are mum and dad up yet?' She asked casually, setting the treats on the kitchen counter top. 'Nah, and they probably won't be for a few hours. Lazy bums.' The siblings giggled at the joke, remembering all the times Mum called them that when they "forgot" their chores. Their laughter was cut short, however, by the loud yelp from upstairs. 'Was that Dad?' A scream that sounded like it came from their mother sent the pair bolting up the stairway, rushing to help whatever was going on.

Pushing the door open, Nel's heart nearly stopped at the sight she saw on the floor. Her father seemed to be having some sort of seizure, a large golden egg knocked down by his head. 'Dad!' Kyle hurried down first, trying to get a handle on the situation, or at least find out what was happening. 'Mum, what happened? What'd he do?' The old woman was flustered, tears springing to her eyes. 'I don't know, he just picked up the egg! We thought one of you put it on the nightstand or something!' Pulling her mother into a comforting hug, Nel watched the horrific scene from over her shoulder. She felt as if her heart had shattered once he stopped moving, Kyle looking up from the man with tears in his eyes. Holding a hand over his mouth, the brother checked for breathing, and when he found there to be none, he quickly looked for a pulse. Nothing.

During the painful silence - stemming from the fact that no body had a clue what to do - a voice sounded from downstairs. Nel was the first to react, looking to her remaining family members to assure her that it wasn't a hallucination before dashing back down to see what it was. The television had come on, and a bloke with a funny hair cut as announcing something urgent. 'Do not touch the eggs! They are deadly...' Whatever else he might have said, she didn't hear. She didn't care what else he had to say. So it was real. He was dead. It finally occurred to her to warn the rest of them, and so she shouted as loud as she could back up to her parents' - well, parent's, now, she supposed - bedroom. 'Don't touch it! Whatever you do don't touch it!' Spinning around frantically, she spotted the mother and son perched at the top of the stairs, absolute fear showing in their eyes.

So much for Happy Easter, then.

Lea stared at her cell phone in frustration. Ever since the eggs had first appeared, she'd been attempting to call the Doctor. She'd tried to just take some time away from traveling to visit her family for Easter, and look what happened. Freaking. Eggs. Of death. People were scared and frustrated and confused; the world had been on the brink of panic. And where had the Doctor been? Flying around somewhere else in time and space. It had been 3 whole months, and she was getting fed up.

Thankfully, her family had managed to escape unscathed. Lea returned to the campus of her college after spring break. The eggs had since been collected, and she'd spotted UNIT's signature red caps on numerous occasions. Where the public was concerned, the situation was under control. From what she'd seen of UNIT, however, they probably needed the Doctor before they could do anything other than containment.

She sighed and dialled the TARDIS' phone's number. It was worth one more try, at least.

Kate rolled her eyes comically at The Doctors response, "Since when do you need help with something?" she joked before, suddenly, a UNIT officer came bursting through the doors, "There's another report! Brand new!" he exclaimed. Both The Doctor, Kate and Osgood turned their attentions to the UNIT officer, widened eyes on all of them as the officer handed Kate the report folder.

Taking the folder, Kate glanced over it quickly before handing it to Osgood, "I want a clean up team there immediately. Make this routine and quick as possible, i don't want the public panicking and starting to think we haven't got this under control yet". The officer nodded and rushed out of the room as quickly as he could; Osgood already turning to Kate to receive her orders. "Hold on" The Doctor interrupted before Kate could speak to her scientific officer, "If this case just happened then you can't barge in there and nab the body and leave. It's Easter, national holiday around the world. Families get together, have food. Whoever died is going to have their family there" he tried to reason.

Kate nodded her head with a sigh, "Yes Doctor. I am fully aware of what happens on Easter, but we have to contain this before it gets out of control" she replied. "If your doing this then i am coming..give me the coordinates" The Doctor quickly replied, sternly gazing down at her with an arched eyebrow before Kate finally gave in and Osgood flipped the folder open, "OS grid reference TQ205785". The Doctor nodded before turning to his TARDIS before the outside phone of his infamous vessel began to ring. Groaning and sighing, The Doctor opened the phone case and took out the phone, placing it to his ear, "Hello" he said as Kate and Osgood exited the room, getting ready with their team to head out to the house and contain yet another egg.

The patchwork red coat had managed to tangle itself around the Doctor's head this time around. Still, he blindly groped for the control panel to steer the ship in its current course. And why not? He'd done it before. Not successfully, but that was just...experience. Still, he used the gap between every pull of a lever or flick of a switch to attempt to de-mummify himself. Based on about how long they'd been travelling, he had gotten the hang of which direction the TARDIS was about to jerk in its uneven flight. That being said, it was about to push him squarely and harshly into the console. He lifted a foot and braced himself against the metal, and-

"Whoops!" The TARDIS tipped the opposite way that he expected. His balance now lost, The Doctor toppled over backwards, rolling head over heels several times before connecting with the TARDIS door. Fortunately, the tumble also managed to unwrap his head. He sat up, ignoring the light throbbing in the back of his noggin, grinning. "Ah, much better!" The TARDIS had reached its destination and the roar of the engine had died down. "Now then," The Doctor jumped up and bounded over to the monitor, staring intently at it. "Where exactly are we?"

Space. He was in space. Why was he in space? He grimaced at screen and started decoding the time-space coordinates. He'd managed to stop the TARDIS exactly on the opposite side of the galaxy from planet earth. "What, did you get tired halfway?" he scowled at the console, shaking his head. Then, his ear picked something up. Something...strange. He turned around and moved a little bit to try to triangulate the source of the noise. It sounded like...a telephone? He walked to the TARDIS door and looked it over. What was a telephone doing in the middle of space? He opened the door, peering outside. No, just the blackness of space out there. A disembodied telephone? That seemed strange.

RIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIING!

The Doctor turned his head to the right.

RIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIING!

...He pushed the door of the TARDIS's exterior phone open and stared at the old, disconnected phone.

RIIIIIIING!

Yes, it was ringing. Hesitating for a moment, he reached in and picked up the phone, and putting on an authoritative aire: "Hello."

But when he spoke, he heard someone else say the same, at the same time. Immediately, he brought the phone inside and closed the door, trailing the inexplicably long cord behind him to the console. "Now, how did you get this number? Even I don't know this number" He nestled the headpiece between his shoulder and his ear, and he started working at the buttons and levers. It didn't take him long to get a signal, and even less time to kick his TARDIS into high gear heading straight for it. "Well, never mind, I'll come to you."

WOOOOSH. WOOOOSH. WOOOOSH.

The TARDIS materialized in the biology lab at UNIT headquarters, and The Doctor opened the door and strode out, looking around. He pretty shortly recognized the room, but...everything was wrong. Everything had shifted exactly one TARDIS-length to the side. Turning a bit, he saw the reason behind this. A crazy, lanky man was standing by a police box with a phone identical to his own held up to his ear. The sixth Doctor gaped slightly, looking the scene up and down, and only one thing came to his mind.

"You stole my parking spot!"

((Sorry, got confused with posting order...))

Lea was relieved and almost startled by the hello; she'd come to expect the automated voice telling her that the number was unavailable. She was about to let out her frustrations over the phone when a second, unfamiliar voice asked how she got the number and said something about coming to her before hanging up. Momentarily thrown off by the unexpected stranger, she forgot the rant that she'd originally planned on throwing at the Doctor.

"Who the heck was that guy?" she asked. "And how does he have access to the TARDIS phone, and... oh never mind! It's been 3 months, alien eggs of death arrived on everyone's doorstep, and you were nowhere to be seen! One million people died, and all we could do was containment!"

As she spoke, Lea paced her room. She paused, took a few deep breaths, and finally said quietly, "Where are you, and how can I help?" Now that she'd let out the anger, she was just tired of the situation, of the helplessness everyone had felt on Easter and the days following.

The Doctor peered over his shoulder as a familiar sound echoed around the room and found its way to his ears, grabbing his attention immediately. Slowly he turned around, his eyes meeting the form of his most colorful incarnation. An incarnation he would have never had thought to see here, "Oh..hello.." he began, "Well..this spot has sort of been mine for a while now. That's what happens when you don't know how to fly a TARDIS correctly" he joked with his former incarnation.

Turning his attention back to Leah on the phone, The Doctor shifted his body away from Six, "UNIT HQ..i will send you the coordinates to where i am going through a..what do you humans call it...oh yes! A text!". Without another word, The Doctor hung up the phone and spun around, ready to enter his TARDIS before glancing back to the Sixth Doctor, "Try and keep up" he joked once more before entering his time machine with a grin. From the mad dash up the ramp, to the aerobatics around the control console, it only took The Doctor at most half a minute to get the TARDIS into the time vortex and jetting off to the coordinates given to him by Osgood and Kate. Allons-y!!

"I want this place surrounded and covered up. No need for the public to know what we are doing here..get the teams into positions. They only come out when i say they do" Kate Stewart ordered to Osgood as they approached the front door of Nel's house. Osgood quickly rushed off back towards the gathering squads of officers, her notepad held firmly in her hand like a precious award, making sure not to drop it as she powered walked into a near run. Firmly, Kate knocked on the door of the house just as the roaring sounds of the TARDIS burst into reality next to the window in front of the house. Quickly The Doctor ran out, "Miss anything?" he asked, flipping his cell phone, the one Martha gave him, away after texting Leah the coordinates. Kate rolled her eyes as she shifted her attention back to the door, "No more than usual..at least you showed up".

"Yes, you did show up. Couldn't keep up, huh? First rule, be ahead of your own timeline." The Doctor sauntered over his past incarnation. "Did the clown show up yet, or is he late to the party?" He asks. "Right, you need help yes? What better help than from 2 versions of yourself? Easter eggs! Don't ask yourself 'what?', ask 'why? Why would anyone poison the majority of the world? Eggs on Easter because everyone would be touching them. Hunting for eggs. But why? We already know what. And Who? Who would get so many eggs? Who could put ll that radiation or whatever it is in gold eggs?" He paced back and forth. "Any ideas you two?" He referred to Kate and 10. The Doctor could remember this. Well...Almost remember. Twice over. It made his head hurt just thinking about it. So he might as well play it by ear.

Humph.  Well, apparently he was going to lose his sense of humor when he got that ancient.  "Cad," He remarked, shaking his head and hanging up his own phone, shoving the extended cord back into the casing and closing the door to it.  He then dove back into his own TARDIS and slammed the door behind himself, running up to the console and flipping a few switches.  "Alright girl, let's remind this bumbling oaf what you USED to be capable of.  What are his destination coordinates..."  He blinked and looked at the screen.  "Indeed.  Someone's a bit inaccurate, aren't they?"

He was just about to set off before he remembered something.  Something important.  Someone had called him.  On his phone.  Which wasn't connected to anything.  That irked him almost as much as the Skinny Ninny.  Hm...he liked that...Skinny Ninny...Anyway.  He flicked a few more switches and slid a slider across the top of his screen, and he took off to his much preferred location first:  The source of that blasted phone call.  Of course, he wasn't about to lose this race, either.  That being said, a familiar sound might reach Lea's ears just a moment later.  That is, familiar if she'd ever heard a TARDIS before.  Less familiar, probably, would be the sensation of the TARDIS materializing around her and her accusatory phone, and even less familiar would be the sight of the TARDIS's control room fading into being as she was picked up the smooth and easy way.

Earths End Dwclassic80stardis

The Doctor had his back turned to the woman who he'd just basically abducted as he worked on the console, but he addressed her nonetheless.  "I hope you weren't of the mind that you'd get away with calling my phone without my permission.  I'd take some more time to chastise you, but I have a race to win.  Hold on, might get a bit-" He yanked a lever and it felt as though the TARDIS floor did a full flip.  When everything settled again, they were mysteriously still.  "Bumpy."  He adjusted his collar and shook his head out as if he hadn't just broken a chronological speed limit, and he headed for the door.

"Come on, that Skinny ninny will be along shortly."  ...Well, it sounded better in his head.  Better act confident anyway.

He'd only been in the Biology lab for a moment, but he had certainly taken notice of the egg.  With that thing in mind, and the number of security measures they had around it, he knew it must be dangerous.  That was most likely why they were where they were.  He stopped near the door and looked around, reaching down into a box of stuff and pulling out a glass cake cover.  "Perfect."  He opened the door and strode out evenly into the back yard of the family who had made the emergency call.  He took one moment once he was outside to poke his head back through the TARDIS door.  "Well, come on!"  And with that he strode across the lawn.

The Doctor didn't knock.  He didn't especially feel like knocking.  Instead, he simply shoved the back door to the house open and ran inside, brandishing the ornate cake cover like a shield.  "Don't worry, I'm a Doctor!" he called as he dove towards the egg, covering it safely under the floral carved dish.  Next, he took a cursory glance over the patient.  "I need details, as many as you have.  Specific times, as accurate as you can make them.".  But just then he heard a telltale pair of voices outside.  He groaned.  Another one. Standing, he yanked the front door open and glared at them both in turn.  "You're..." he started, pointing at 10.  "Late.  And you!" he turned to 13.  "Weren't invited."  Nonetheless, he reached out and grabbed the pair by the fronts of their shirts and dragged them into the foyer.

Nel flinched at the sound of the back door clicking open, turning to see what could have made the noise only to be nearly ran down by some mad man in a patchwork-looking coat. She hadn't even had the chance to react to that, and he was shouting that he was a Doctor, diving towards the golden horror and capping it with a... cake cover. Her first reaction was to check for her brother's. There was almost no way this wasn't a hallucination, but the fear in his eyes was nothing to go off of. He'd barely changed his expression at all. What a fat lot of good that did. Suppose she'd just have to ask straight out, then. 'He... He isn't...' Kyle simply nodded, eyes locked on the stranger who'd just burst into their home.

Flustered, she tried to think of the details has he had asked for them, but he seemed to be wrapped up in something else first. What, was someone else here? Well of course there was - there was a knock but she ignored it. Her eyes widened as he yanked the door open, revealing two more strange people who - apparently - late. The uninvited one? That was more than a tad ironic, as none of them had been invited here in the first place, and were starting to freak her out. Now that she was looking, she noticed something familiar. 'Hold on, I know you,' She stomped over and prodded the 13th in the chest, a scowl planted on her features. 'Said you were some kind of Doctor. But he's a Doctor.' She gestured to blondie next to her with her thumb. 'Don't need this many Doctors, now do you? What's going on?'

It seemed, just as she had asked, the UNIT soldiers were making their entrance, seeming to come from every point in the house they could have gotten into. Now she was scared. What were soldiers doing here? What had they done? This was all a hallucination, it had to be! They were no criminals, why bother sending soldiers? Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, holding her hands to her face. This was not how she wanted to spend her Easter.

The Tenth Doctor rolled his eyes at the appearance of his thirteenth incarnation, but it was a glad eye roll, the kind you give your best friends when you finally see them again. However, when his sixth incarnation came bursting through the door, an aggravated sigh escaped his mouth, "Blimey, thought i got rid of you" he mumbled before Kate pushed past the massing incarnations of The Doctor and entered the household. Osgood was second to enter, followed by a small group of UNIT soldiers, followed by the Tenth and Thirteenth Doctors who were promptly yanked inside by their Sixth Incarnation.

"I want the egg contained immediately, set up a perimeter. Stealth protocol" Kate proclaimed from the living room of the house before making her way to the bedroom where the egg was located. Osgood and two soldiers matched to the backyard of the house, the two soldiers wielding roller suitcases and Osgood now sporting a, full to the brim, large black bag over her left shoulder. As UNIT began massing up it's temporary HQ for the crime scene, The Tenth Doctor turned his attention to the family and the obviously nervous, and scared, woman. Walking over to them, he eyed each of the family members, making a mental note of the father missing and quickly coming to the conclusion he was the victim. "There's no need to worry" He finally said, speaking softly as he looked at each of the family members, peering deep into their eyes as his attention passed over them, "We're here to help. I'm The Doctor..and..well..the other two are Doctors too..well..me..well..let's just say other Doctors.".

Shifting into a more serious facial expression, The Doctor turned his attention to the younger woman, both with his eyes and body. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for your loss but your going to have to focus for me now" he said to her, "I need to know everything that happened if i am going to help..trust me, everything is going to be alright..i promise".

One moment Lea was standing in her dorm room, the next she was inside the TARDIS. Well, a TARDIS, she supposed. It looked to be similar in design to the Doctor's, with the same shape console and round shapes in the walls, but it was too... clean. The room was bright; the walls were a pristine white with off-white circles, and even the console itself was white. It was a stark contrast to the Doctor's dim control room full of blue light and bronze colors. The pilot was strange as well, and his fashion sense was unique, to say the least. It was obvious from his voice that he was the same person who had hijacked her call earlier.

The ride was turbulent and quick, almost knocking Lea off of her feet. Before she could yell at this stranger for kidnapping her and calling the Doctor a "Skinny Ninny," he'd landed and run out the door. She walked out after him, figuring that at least she'd gotten a free ride to the coordinates.

Lea's heart sank as she realized what must have happened. The TARDIS had landed behind a seemingly ordinary house, but there were UNIT visible through some of the windows. Another death, another clean-up operation, another family in mourning. She heard the stranger and another unknown man introduce themselves as doctors. Lea braced herself for what may be inside before entering the house.

She saw that the egg had already sort of been contained with a glass cake cover, and heard the Doctor mention briefly that the other doctors were... him? Lea walked up to the Doctor, her doctor, and asked, "Who are those two, and what's the situation?"

"I was here first! You court jester!" Thirteen referred to six. Turing to ten, Thirteen smirked. "Hes right though, you are paper thin." In an instant a girl was prodding his chest. "That's right! You're the store clerk with moxy. Nel is your name. And The doctor is mine. Well not my real one, got rid of that ages ago." He spins on his heels, going over to the man who laid on the floor. "Someone get him out of here. An autopsy should confirm our suspicions. But that'll take a while. And of course, we don't have that long. So we need to make it snappy people!" Thirteen yelled over everyone. "Nel and Lea, to answer your questions about our identities. Me, skinny boy, and the clown are one in the same. An alien who can change his form when he is fatally injured, to keep on keeping on. I'm number thirteen, the one in the tight suit is ten, and he's six. It's a secret so shhh." Thirteen looked at the golden egg, now being contained by UNIT. There had to be something missing. Something, but what? Now was an appropriate time to ask that.

Getting face to face with Nel, only a couple of inches away from her, Thirteen just stared. As Ten talked, Thirteen just looked. "Your dad, he touched the egg, yeah? Why? Well, not because he was going to put it out for the kids, right? If he thought it was a gift, he would obviously touch it. You weren't in the home, and your brother was probably doing something. Your mum and dad were sleep. Which leaves the obvious question, how did it get there?" He interrogates Nel. Thirteen remembered something like this before. Over 12,000 years ago. The slow invasion, fought by the power of three....

((Not for nothing, but is an IC thread really the place for all this OOC conversation?))

So he would also turn into an over-serious pansy, and then an idiot. The Doctor sighed, crouching down over the body, gently touching his forehead, his neck, his chest. He looked for any signs of a lump or abnormality, any indications of a sudden onset of a tumor or a stroke. He checked the man's eyes, gently checked his tongue. And all the while, he was listening to his two future selves bumbling into the thing that he'd already asked. Furthermore, the one with the vest was being so...

The 6th stood up and spun around, advancing on 13 quickly and reaching out with an open palm to push him back, back, back, and finally giving him a bit of a shove down on the couch. "For a Doctor," he said through gritted teeth, "You have awful bedside manner. If you'd like to be useful, try putting the brain in that big head of yours to work rather than terrorizing the already terrorized with questions that they don't have the answer to." He turned back around without waiting for a response and straightened himself up, a somber expression on his face. "My fellow here is correct. This one." He indicated the 10th Doctor. "We need as much information as you can give us. The more we know about what happened here, the sooner we can put a stop to it once and for all. Please..." He reached out and placed a hand on the grieving party's shoulder. "I promise you, I am not the kind of man who will let this sort of thing go. I will find what is causing this, and I will chase it to the end of the universe and back if necessary. After that, I will answer any questions you have to the best of my ability."

He gave Lea a quick glance. Even though she WAS the type of person to hijack someone's phone line without their permission, he hoped she would be able to wait just a little longer before getting her own questions answered. The atmosphere in the room was heavy and confusing enough as it was without throwing the unbelievably complicated matter of Time Lord regeneration into the mix.
