Appearance:
Nietsal appearance varies. However, every member of this species has some kind of animal trait, be it ears and tail, wings, etc. The most common type of Nietsal is feline, with cat ears, soft tails, sharper nails, the like. Often, hair color is attributed to the family of the individual (e.g. Blue hair- Diluvium Aquis, the water family), but this is not always the case, especially since some are just born with a different color.
Nietsals do NOT have fur, feathers, scales, etc. except on the parts of their bodies that relate to the animal they are based after. For example, an eagle Nietsal will only have feathers on their wings. Think Maximum Ride, if you know that series, because aside from a few animal limbs, like the mentioned wings, Nietsals look completely like humans, and act in a similar manner.
Technology:
Most technology is what we would call "futuristic" stuff. But not all of this is their own. Some have acquired the technologies of other species. Examples of individuals would be Vapisa or "Isa" who possesses a Vortex Manipulator, and briefly possessed the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver. Though these were both stolen items, the screwdriver was returned, and she was allowed to keep the manipulator. Others have traded for technology, or were given such items by friends from other species, as gifts.
Abilities:
Abilities vary by family and type of Nietsal. Some have some control on the growth of plants, or the blazing fire, lightning, wind, electricity, and so on. A prevalent and powerful family, the much-mentioned Diluvium Aquis, controls water and ice, to a degree. Think like bending an element. Some individuals will possess powers not in the rest of their family. Another ability...the type. Feline and Lupine Nietsals commonly have quick reflexes and heightened senses, detecting smells and sounds a human could not. This is a potential weakness, as very high frequencies, though maybe undetectable by humans or even others of their kind, could hurt their ears. Though only a few cases of such have been recorded. Birdlike Nietsals have a natural flight ability, of course.
Government:
Very few Nietsals have given mention of a government. Their families are run by a single leader, often the most powerful individual in the family.
The actual government is a council of the family leaders.
Religion:
They are known to only have one god, by the name of Epheo. Few believe in no gods.
Other:
Their home planet is Dulara, the capital being a city named Edosa. While most of the species resides here, some are on other planets. Namely, Earth. However, most humans do no know this, as Nietsals can conceal ears, tails, wings, etc quite easily. Few reveal it to any human, and if they do, only to a small group, at most.
