Fallen and Broken

Taking the gadget, she put it in her hoodie pocket. "Mmk. I'll be over there." Clara pointed in a random direction and started walking. The only noises were the crunching of grass and leaves under her feet and the persistent buzzing noise. 

Clara made her way over to a forested area and slowly walked through the trees, stopping at any sound. She was feeling a bit childish today, and took out the communicator, pushing the button. She talked into it, mimicking a southern accent. "We got some weevils up hear, d'ya read me?" Only she realized the device was actually flashing red. "Okay, not a joke, weevils here!"

Myra had caught up to Charlie and Clara and stopped behind them. "I hope that isn't showing red." Myra said as she looked at Charlie and then Clara. "If that thing is showing red then they should be close by."

Robin ran up to the rest of the group, seeing how worried the others were. Whatever these weevils were, they must have been terrible. "What's so bad about these things? It's not like they can just take over the world like that, right?" She looked from face to face, her own smile fading. Okay, so... really bad. She tucked a bit of hair behind her ear, fidgeting as she stood there. After a moment, she couldn't help it anymore. She spun around on her heel, looking out for anything that looked dangerous. Oh gosh, I don't even know what they look like...

Handing Charlie the device, she smiled sheepishly. "Is that bad? Because red is a nice color, I mean, it's very pretty. I don't think it's that bad..." She rambled a bit, then trailed off, still very nervous. Inspecting the forest around her, her heart beat a little faster. Was that a shadow? I can't bloody tell! The shadow shifted a few feet closer accompanied by the cracking of twigs. The hair on the back of Clara's neck stood up and she shivered even though she still wore a jacket. Then a tall, alien figure leapt out from behind a tree straight for Robin.

"Ahh!" Robin screamed, her heart skipping a beat. Her eyes were wide open and she was paralyzed in shock. It took her a moment, but she started struggling against the creature. She tried hitting it with her elbow to get it to go away, but she was too weak. "Help me!" Robin yelped, genuinely terrified. The weevil lunged at her, and she just barely jumped out of the way. Oh god, I have to, don't I? She really didn't want to look like a freak in front of all these people, but she really didn't have a choice right now, did she? A few seconds later and the weevil attacked again, and there was no way she was going to beat this thing. Robin shrugged off her jacket, revealing that the back of her tank top was open. A pair of black wings sprouted from her shoulder blades and she immediately flew up and away from the creature attacking her. "Don't just stand there, do something!" She shouted at the others, heart beating loudly in her ears.

[ltr]Clara's eyes widened in shock, and she took a double take. She opened her mouth to speak, but found the words caught in her throat. Gulping, her adams apple bobbing comically, she called up to Robin "Wings! You have...wow Robin!" Now out of her shock, Clara reached into her pocket and whipped out a taser. She was always prepared for the worst. But just as she was about to act, she realized Charlie had already handled it. Clara looked down at the unconscious weevil with disappointment. "Is that the only one?" she whined childishly.[/ltr]

Robin blushed a deep pink as she landed back on the ground. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as she reached down to get her jacket. Her heart was settling down now, but she still didn't want to turn away from the weevil as she backed up from it. Her wings sank back into her shoulder blades, as if they were never even there. Putting her jacket back on, she looked from Charlie to the weevil, very relieved that it was stunned. She ducked her head down a bit, face still a shade of pink. Please, don't treat me like a freak, she pleaded in her head.

"Hey Robin you can stick with me." Myra said as she looked at her device on her wrist to see a red dot. "Hey uh Charlie I believe there's another on close to here." Myra says showing Charlie her device.

Robin nodded, walking closer to Myra. She peered over at her wrist, seeing the red dot. Now she knew how bad those were, and her heart skipped a beat. "We can't just leave them stunned, though. They'll get back up and keep going. What are we gonna do with them?" She looked over at the one laying on the ground nervously, just starting to take this whole thing seriously. Pulling herself out of her thoughts, she looked over at the others. Charlie seemed fairly calm, maybe she even enjoyed this. She was probably used to this by now though, Robin reasoned.

Clara shrugged. "You guys get this one in the van. I think I might catch the next one." She glanced at her wrist, focusing on the red dot. Wondering if there was a navigator on the thing, she tested walking forwards, then backwards. The red dot flashed brighter when she had stepped back. "It's this way." Clara said, turning around and slowly walking in that direction. "Might be better if someone comes with me, considering what happened last time."

"Yeah like I said before I was trained by Jack to do my job so why wouldn't I." Myra said as she looked at Charlie then at everyone else.

Clara continued walking into the forest, then stopped as she heard footsteps that were not her own. "Gotcha this time." she muttered under her breath, and sprinted towards the noise. The weevil tried running from its attacker, but tripped on a tree root and fell to the ground. Once again pulling out her taser, she leapt to the ground, shoving the device to the base of its neck. It convulsed for a moment and Clara pitied the alien. She silently apologized and attempted to pick up the weevil, but to no avail. She couldn't even get it more than a few inches off the ground.

Robin turned her head at a loud thump. She ran after it in case someone needed help - maybe they were being attacked by a weevil. Once she reached the noise, she saw Clara trying to pick one up and take it back. "Want some help?" Robin smiled a bit, not liking the idea of being near a weevil, but wanting to be useful. She walked over to it cautiously and went for it's feet. "You get its shoulders, I'll get its feet, okay?" She bent down to grab its ankles, waiting for Clara - bumping it on its head would be a very bad idea.

Clara smiled at Robin. "Yeah, thanks!" She grabbed the creature's shoulders and lifted it up, starting to make her way back towards the other weevil.

"Right." Charlie muttered, nodding once. It's not worth fighting over, she told herself calmly and checked the device strapped to her wrist. "Seeming as though the others have disappeared, we should go try and find the last couple." She said in an almost soft voice and a glance towards Myra.

"Yeah let's go find the others. So how many are there?" Myra Sid as she looked at the device on her wrist and then started to walk to see if anything would show up.

"Not entirely sure. Scanners showed a group of either four or five- and by the looks of it we've already got two." Charlie, keeping her eyes on the machinery, started forward as well, and smiled in satisfaction as she got another hit. "Hey, there's one. Strait ahead, running in... that direction." She pointed forward, though slightly off to the left. "I suggest we loop around and intercept."

When she had dragged the alien back to the small clearing where the other laid, the others were gone. "Robin...how are we going to carry two of them back? This one should be waking up soon, and I don't want it in my arms when it does." She fiddled nervously with her zipper and slowly set the weevil down on the grass next to the other.

The positive indication Charlie had seen that there was a weevil on the run soon stopped.

The Interfector had landed on earth, leaving his TARDIS behind as he took a walk down the streets of England and into a park.  He had been staring at his wrist device, tracking the bit of alien technology that had crash landed on earth about ten years ago.  This piece would be an interesting bit to dissect and incorporate into one of his inventions.  But during his tracking in the secluded area, a tall, lanky alien had ran at him.  The Time Lord had looked up just in time as the weevil lunged.  He sprung to the left, annoyance flaring in his gaze.  The weevil made more feeble attempts to harm the Interfector, though he managed to get out of the creature's reach.  The last time the Weevil swung it's hand, it collided with the Interfector's face.  He swore, anger boiling in his stomach.  He quickly reached over, snatching the weevil's arm and twisting it so its back was facing his front.  His hands reached up to it's head and the Time Lord snapped the neck of the other alien, letting it fall limply to his feet. "Nuisance."

Myra continued to follow the red dot on her device and soon came across the alien at the feet off someone. "Hey Charlie we don't have to take one down this guy took it down for us!" Myra yelled back to Charlie.
