| Emma was riding her bike along the highway, heading home after getting a few books at the library. Those were in her backpack, since she didn't have much else places to put them while riding a motorcycle. She was a little distracted thinking about some different stuff, so it took a while before she noticed that her motorcycle was acting a little weird.
She was pulled from her thoughts, however, when she noticed that her handlebars were shaking quite a lot. She frowned, wondering what was going on with it. She continued for a short while before deciding that this should probably be investigated, it was definitely not normal. She attempted to slow down so she could pull over and take a look. That was when her brakes gave out. She widened her eyes and tried not to panic as she realized that her brakes weren't working. So now, not only was her handlebars shaking excessively, but she couldn't stop the bike now either!
Emma took a couple of deep breaths and tried to stay calm, carefully keeping the bike straight on the road. She bit her lip, seeing a slight downward slope up ahead. She couldn't do anything about it as the bike picked up a little speed, but she worried about what might happen. She tried to remember if there was a curve up ahead.. or was further down the road? She was very relieved to see that when the downward slope ended, the road went uphill.
Emma let the bike coast up the hill until it came to a stop, guiding it as close to the shoulder of the road as she could. Then came the slightly scary part. The bike would begin to go back down the hill that she'd just gone up, backwards, and she really didn't want to do that. She thought quickly, and before it could begin going backwards, she quickly tilted to the side and let herself fall over with the bike, careful to move her leg out of the way as she did.
Since the bike had been practically stopped when she did that, she was able to get by with very few scrapes. She jumped clear of the bike and pulled her helmet off, staring at the machine with wide eyes, breathing a little fast from the scare of what just happened. Luckily there weren't any cars around, but just in case, she moved her bike out of the road the rest of the way, and then knelt to inspect the brake lines, frowning as she noticed some nothing obvious that was wrong with them. It wasn't cut or anything, but it certainly did seem suspicious to her.
(ooc: Rp is for Emma to meet Russell Phillips, but others are welcome to post too.)

| Russell Phillips is just riding down the road on his motorcycle with his blue ripped jeans, his motorcycle boots and black Aviator sunglasses and has no shirt on. He often went out in public with no shirt but does it look like he cares?Meanwhile he just got back from the police station evidently the other night he did something but hell he can't remember. Until he finds a girl on the side of the road her bike looking pretty bad and she looks pretty scraped up. As always he stops his bike to help this poor young girl either to be kind or to flirt with her. Parking his bike on the side of the rode he dismounts walking over to her. "Need some help there beautiful?" He always loved to use flirtatious words. Squatting down he takes off his sunglasses examining the bike. "Well looks like you beat up your bike pretty bad" he says. | |

| Emma looked up as she heard the sound of another vehicle coming. She stood and watched a shirtless guy on a motorcycle pull over and start toward her. She ignored her scrapes and folded her arms, raising an eyebrow at his comment about her beating her bike up. "Ha, more like it tried to kill me." She replied, wondering if he was hallucinating or something when he called her beautiful.
She decided to ignore it, since that was obviously just a poor attempt to flirt with her. "Brake lines haven't been cut, but there's definitely something wrong with them." She commented. She knelt near the fallen bike and pointed out what she meant. "If I had to take a guess, I'd say someone tightened this all the way up.." She said, frowning as she pointed to the thing that shouldn't be tightened that much, which would keep the brakes from working. | |
