| It was calm. The wind was still. The air smelled like wood ovens. it was snowing lightly, each snow flake differing from the last. It was cold. People taking a healthy brisk walk shiver as the snowflakes land on their eyelashes.
Night hummed a calming song to ease her mind. She was sitting on the sidewalk, the snow piling on her head. She was a pretty woman, with an ovular face and highlighted features.
She had a soft composure and seemed like a sweet girl, but there was something with her that was off, might it be with her pin straight personality, or her sharp tongue that could reply to any insult, but she was different.
Night stood up. The snow drifted off of her head. Her hair was black and messy. if anyone is tough enough to go past her pretty exterior, you find a cold mean woman who trusts no one. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Noises.
Sometimes, you are alone. You don't hear anything, but sometimes, you listen past the silence. Beings lurk beyond the silence, and they think that is your don't see them, they can't see you. But if you see them, they become aware of your existence, and they make a noise, of shuffling feet. The noise becomes louder, until you start to see them. When you see them, well, no one knows because no one has survived.

| In Kensington Gardens, an area not far from Night, children played in the snow, making misshapen snowmen and throwing snowballs at one another. The children saw nothing wrong with this activity, but any adult that had lived in London for at least one winter gaped at the sight, baffled. The most snow anyone had ever seen was a little under a foot, and that had been all the way back in 2009. But this had to be at least a foot and a half of wet heavy snow, and to top everything off, the only area where this much snow had accumulated was in the park
The reason? A small white box about the size of a cabinet stood next to one of the trees, almost completely blending in with the snow. Snaking out from one of its fractionally-open doors was a cord, which ran across the ground to plug into a small, unnoticeable weather-inducing device, half buried in the snow it was making.
"Why doesn't he have a scarf? Won't he get cold?"
Theta Sigma, young and happy and blending in splendidly with the kids in the park, stood arguing with a little girl almost a fourth his age. The nine year old Jamie pouted at the bowtie that the Timelord had placed on the snowman they had been making together, affectionately named Spazzie by the girl.
"No, you see... scarves don't actually keep you warm. They just hang off your neck like some rubbish necklace, and, and you can trip on them, too! A bowtie is a much better choice for the situation. I met a very wise man once; he told me, and I quote: 'bowties are cool'"
The reasoning was absolute rubbish, but the little girl didn't seem to realize this. Her eyes were wide as she nodded along, looking like she had just been handed the secret of life.
"Oi Jamie's friend, catch!"
Jamie's older brother, a teen of 14 that had been goofing around with his friends, threw a snowball at Theta while his friends snickered around him, in the midist of dumping snow on eachother's own heads. Of course, Theta was expecting this. He was only 33, after all, and in human terms he looked to be no older than 16. That made him fair game for pranks, snowball fights, and any other activities children would participate in when it was snowing.
But, you know... he was kind of okay with that. Sometimes getting mistaken as a kid made him frustrated, but to be honest, that's all he was; a kid. And so when the snowball hit his face with a smack, he didn't grow angry, or ignore it or anything an adult would do. He just grinned mischievously and made a snowball of his own, chasing after his attacker with the chilled weapon while little Jamie laughed behind him.
'smack'
The snowball had not hit Jamie's brother, as he'd been intending, but instead had flown over his head and hit a random woman walking on the sidewalk. Theta grimaced, though his reaction was much more controlled than the reaction of Jamie's brother and his friends, who all adopted the 'oh shiz' face and took off running like bats outta hell.
"Uhm, sorry miss!" | |

| Night took out her diary. She had a pen, and was ready to write about how boring her day was. She looked up at the sky, and thought. What she thought about was a mystery, but when she turned her glance to happy carefree children playing in the snow, she got smacked in the face with a freezing snow ball.
"Argh! What the!?" Night wiped the snow off of her face, and turned her glance to the one who looked the eldest. He seemed like the man in charge, he seemed like the one who should be yelled at. She walked up to the youngish man and reprimanded him.
"What do you think you were doing? I could have been seriously injured, or worse! You and your carefree band of snowmen makers, you're wasting your time! While I'M doing something important, you are making snowmen and having oh so much fun, and also, just to let you know, BOWTIES ARE NOT COOL!"
She shoved the oldest into a pile of snow and sat down on the bench, looking at her soaked diary. Her nose was red, and she wanted to kill them. Was this an over reaction? Probably but she will not let ANYTHING get in her way.
She put away her diary and took out another trinket, and pickaxe looking item that was about the size of a knife. It had words engraved on the metal that could barely be made out.
"Time is Key." | |

| "Hey, Thet." Sonya's voice called from somewhere behind him. Seconds later, her head popped up out of the snow with a wide grin on her face, head shaking from side to side to toss the snow out of her hair gleetfully. "I thought I had gone blind for a second. No idea why the blasted thing decided to land me UNDER the snow instead of ontop." She grumbled cheerfully, showing the manipulator strapped to her wrist before digging the rest of the way out and brushing her clothes off the best she could.
"Anyway, why exactly are you letting them push you around like that? I mean really, you could have dodged the shove. Then again, dodging would have ended up in you tripping on snow anyway so I'm not sure it would have made much of a difference..." Trailing off, Sonya cast a glance over at the girl that had shoved her friend then turned her sharp, blue eyes back down to the Time Lord beside her with another smile. "I say snowball fight."

| Seeing the odd looking woman had triggered a few questions. Night stood up, and picked up a ball of snow. "Snowball fight? What about an ice fight. The one who gets knocked out first looses. Of course, you probably will just chicken out and go crying to your mummy." Night said picking up a handful of ice. "I need to get their attention, but in a way that gets me on their side. Throwing ice would not be a good idea, but I'll do it anyways." Night threw the hand full of ice at the woman, hitting her in the face.
While the other children threw snowballs at Night, she had already Thrown Theta out of the snow band, and covered herself with snow. It worked just as good as an igloo. She looked at her still wet diary.
She could hear the laughter of the people above. "Snowball fight... I don't have time for this." Night said. She stood up, shook the snow off of her hair and shivered. She put a hand up to say goodbye, but was, once again, hit in the face by a snowman. She put her hand on the one who looked the oldest and helped him out of the snow. She gave him a bit of money, to serve as an apology for shoving him, and sat on the bench, opened a book and began to read. "I could possibly milk information out of these people, I mean, that woman appeared out of no where..." Night questioned herself. She took out a piece of psychic paper and showed it to them. "Doctor Pyre of the Knight Agency." She shot a look at the children and. They backed away. " Could I please have your I.D.s? If not, you'll need to come with me.

| Theta looked at Sonya. Looked at night. Looked at the children throwing snowballs at night. Looked at the friggen snowman (was that Spazzie?) that had apparently hit Night in the face.
"Whelp...I'm confused. Can anybody tell me what the heck just happened?"

| "Ahem? I.D.s?" Said Night with a stutter. It was obviously a simple, and foolish trick, but the psychic paper sold it. "There has been a terrible out break of;" Night thought for a moment. "Chen-7, and it is spreading rapidly through the universe. I heard that there were unauthorized plague carriers on Earth. I come from... Sto. Chen-7 has taken 600 lives already...""Your I.D.s please? and your race." Night said. They could obviously tell she was making it up.still holding the psychic paper in her sweaty palms. She could still feel the children throwing snowballs at her. "I am human." Night said. Her eyes darted right and left. Night took out her diary, and wrote about what ever was going on at the moment. Everything was going oh so fast, she couldn't keep track. Two new people, and one seemingly ignorant idiot. | |

| Sonya hid a smile, her eyebrow quirking up at the blatant lie the girl was saying. "Well... I;d believe you and all..." She trailed off, studying the paper held out to her with a flicker of amusement before nudging Thet in the ribs. "But I'm afraid that Chen 7 only affects species with two hearts... So, 'plague carriers' here on earth wouldn't affect the population one bit." Pausing again, she idly looked around the area with another curious smile on her face, blue eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Not to mention your psychic paper is a poor copy. I can see the frames it used to fabricate your information. You really ought to get your money back for it. Really, I've seen ancient texts in better shape than that thing."

| Night stopped in her place. Who were they? Night dropped the psychic paper where she stood. Her face flushed. What could she do? Night turned her head searching for a place to run. She took off her shoes and coat, and took off running on all fours. "What the!? Two hearts... Who are these people?! This planet's NUTS! Ok, ok, where to go. I think I'd rather not run into them again." Night said as she was sprinting on all fours. Night started to feel cold, so she ran to her home, a car, but the windows had been broken.
Night calmed down, and collected all of her belongings and ran to the nearest hotel. She peered out the window and saw the woman and man looking for her. "That. Was. Stupid." Night said out loud. Bypassers stared at the woman with no shoes or coat like she was crazy, and to simply put it, she was.

| Theta frowned and stared after the retreating woman, utterly perplexed. That had been odd, to say the least. He did wonder, however, how she'd gotten a hold of psychic paper. It wasn't supposed to be common on Earth in this century, was it? She'd also been rather skittish, obviously hiding something or another, though Thet wasn't sure what. He turned to Sonya.
"So, do you think you should follow her?" he gave a short glance behind him to the snow covered park, tempted to return to chucking snowballs around. But the odd, possibly non-human woman had peaked his curiosity, and it'd be bugging him for the rest of the day if he didn't go figure out who she was.
