We Let This Happen

Sonya's eyes popped open as he carried her off again and she struggled in his arms, ignoring the pain radiating from her sides as she did. "Let. Me. Go!" She shouted, finally breaking out of his grip and stumbling away from the man to the far wall, leaning against it as she glared at Interfector, her breath coming in short, harsh pants as she struggled to catch it. "Listen, I don't know you. Why are you just up and taking me! Hardly fun considering I can't run properly!" She snapped, her eyes flashing dangerously as she glared.

Glancing from side to side, she debated on what direction she should go again, struggling to remember the exact direction he brought her into the TARDIS from. "I just need to get back to my TARDIS, I can fix myself up there. I'm not your wife, I'm not your friend and most of all. I'm not staying here." Sonya growled, trying to warn the man off, knowing full well it wouldn't work as she looked back up at his face. Her eyes locked onto his for a moment, her scowl failing for a moment as she stared. Something, something about a blue rock... Then it was gone, leaving a sharp pain burning in her head.

With a low whimper of pain, she slid to the floor and crouched there, clutching her head with her eyes closed tightly. All she wanted to do was go back to her TARDIS and fix herself up before the wounds she did have became dangerous. Then this man insisted on keeping her here with that girl. "Just let me go, Rassilon, please let me go."

Robin looked from the Interfector to Sonya, sighing and moving to sit next to her. "Sonya, we don't want to hurt you. We really are your friends, you have to believe us. You must have lost your memory, can't you feel it? Can you even properly remember where your TARDIS is? Please, just trust us. We only want to help, we're your friends..." She left out the part about the marriage, for one, because Sonya wasn't really reacting well to that, and two, because she couldn't really believe it herself. It wasn't really like her to want that sort of thing... then again, you never know...

Offering the Time Lady a hand, she smiled gently, trying her hardest to get her to trust her. "I promise, we don't want to harm you, we don't want anything like that. Please, let us help?" Looking over to the Interfector, she nodded her head towards Sonya, hoping he would be more help than she was. If they really were married, she was more likely to trust him better than her. "We just want her save, right?" Her eyes flicked to the corner of her vision before they landed back on the murderer.

"You do not know me, you do not know me! Are you a bloody broken record? You knew me very well the night this happened." The Interfector pushed the images of the night in Delirium through their bond before promptly cutting them off when he'd shown enough. This was just ridiculous and frustrating him. Why'd he have to go through with this if she wasn't going to cooperate?

Sighing he looked at Robin, "You cannot help those who will not accept help. Unless it is forced but I do not wish to get another Sonya slap. Those bloody hurt." Grumbling, the Interfector crossed his arms and appraised Sonya with an annoyed look, "Listen, you can either let me help you with the advanced technology I have here or you can struggle to your TARDIS. Either way I will be accompanying you and making sure you are okay. If you do not want me around then tough, because you are not going to shake me so easily."

Sonya gasped sharply as several images of her face flashed through her mind, being held, skin to skin before they vanished again. Her face heated up to near-critical mass at the thought of how he must have gotten those memories. No, she looked like the woman, but it couldn't be, could it? Looking up at the man again, no... Time Lord, he most surely was a Time Lord if he could connect to her mind like that. It was obvious something was wrong, and it wasn't them like she thought, it was her. A low sigh escaped her as she slowly got back to her feet with a pained wince, a hand clutching her side as a hot lance of agony shot through it. "Alright... Fine. Help me now, fix me up, then explain."

Without looking at either of them, especially the man considering the private nature of the images he sent her still caused her face to heat up in a hot blush from just remembering them, she walked back into the Med room without another word and situated herself onto the bed and stared blankly up at the ceiling above her, deep in thought over everything that had been shown to her.

The Interfector sighed heavily and followed in after Sonya.  She laid down and cooperated, making his job a ton easier as he started scans.  "What did you want me to explain?" He asked in a voice much softer than before.  This was hard.  Not the healing bit, just the rest of it.  It was a heavy load he felt he was about to drop.  It was making him nervous.  

Moving toward her head, he parted her hair to get a look and subconsciously nodded as he assessed the situation.  Pulling out a device from a drawer, he shone the green light onto her head and her skin seemed to stitch itself together.  He moved around her body, poking and prodding carefully to find any wound and using the device to fix it up.

Sonya sucked in a sharp breath as he prodded at a sore spot on her side and squeezed her eyes shut as the oddly warm light washed over her skin, healing the wound and leaving nothing behind. "How. That's what I want to know, how? I'm not the type to marry, I'm not even the type to sit in one place for too long... Why would I marry you?" She finally asked after staying silent, debating on exactly what it was she wanted to know.

Turning her head to the side, she studied him with a frown, trying to make sense of the situation as her sluggish mind struggled to work properly. "How did we even meet? I'm sensing something here, and I"m not sure I like it, like I should be angry at you but for the life of me I don't know why. You haven't done anything but try to help me. I've been the difficult one here." She chuckled weakly before falling silent with another wince as a rib in her other side stabbed slightly. "Ah... And by the way, how did I even get hit by a truck? I'm not exactly the most unobservant person on the planet either."

"What do you mean how? I do not know how, I just know you did it after I..." The Interfector side glanced Robin awkwardly before clearing his throat, "I did not take what I showed you so well. This was your attempt at... I am not sure, reassurance? You are the one who seems to be okay with it. Besides the fact I dropped you off on Earth after and left. I always knew I would come back but you were mad. That is why the truck hit you, you were distracted by the situation we are in." He spoke professionally, detaching himself from his emotions. They were a nuisance anyway, that's what the Academy said.

"How did we meet? I found you on Earth when I was trying to find the Doctor. I was in search of surviving Time Lords from the Time War and found the Doctor's voice coming up frequently no matter where I went. So yes, I ran into you and our first meeting did not go so swell. But since then we kept encountering one another and I suppose just... became close." He huffed and finished up healing Sonya before backing up and setting his tool aside. The Interfector appeared distant as he ran some final scans to make sure he fixed her up to near perfection before nodding in satisfaction.

"Became close? I don't get close to anyone, too much danger. I've lost plenty of people just by being close to them." Sonya grumbled under her breath, sitting up slowly to test for any sore spots before flashing him a weak smile in thanks as she slipped off of the bed. "Look... You might have been someone important to me. I don't know what happened between us to make me walk off like that... Dropping me off on Earth isn't the worst thing you could have done." She shrugged her shoulders before slowly walking towards the door and pausing there, looking back at Interfector with a curious look on her face.

"Your familiar, but that's it. I feel like I have seen you somewhere before, but I can't place it. That's all I get now. I don't know when or if I'll get my memory back, but I'll be sure to let you know if I do. Now if you don't mind..." She lifted a hand in good-bye as she vanished out the doorway and headed back towards the control room. As she wandered along the hallways, a soft hum surrounded her, seeming like a gentle hug in her opinion. "Look... Your a nice ship and all, but I don't remember you." She whispered softly, a hand reaching out to touch a door next to her, trying to console the ship the best she could as a lower pitch of humming reached her ears.

Before she could walk off, the door opened under her hand, allowing her the option of going inside. Cursing herself for the curiosity that still ran strong in her, she glanced around quickly before ducking inside the dark room and shutting the door behind her. Automatically, a hand reached out and pressed against a button next to the frame behind her, turning on a low set of lights to cast the room into relief. "Ah..." She murmured under her breath, staring around the area with slight recognition. "I take it was my room, yeah?" A low hum answered her, directing her attention towards the closet off to the right as the door slid open to reveal man and woman clothing, sharing the same space. "Ah... Right."

The Interfector pulled his fingers through his hair and sighed with exasperation. "Are you kidding me? It is not the worst thing I could have done? You made it sound pretty bad when you slapped me. Twice." All of this was started to get under his skin in a bad way. It was an itch he couldn't satisfy. The sooner she got her memories the better. Or was it? At least this way she wasn't expecting things from him he really didn't think he could give. But now she wasn't expecting anything at all from him, except that he leave her be. But that's wasn't right. Because no matter what happened he still had feelings for her and they could still sense one another's thoughts. This wasn't something you just threw away and he was rather surprised that the roles seemed to have changed. Now he was running after her as Sonya pulled away and fled.

Once again, Sonya went off in her own direction in his TARDIS and he let her. The Interfector turned to Robin and rubbed his hands over his face tiredly, "I apologize for all of this, girl. I should not have run from her in the first place... this could have been avoided. I also apologize for... well my apology is rubbish in comparison of what I did to you. You caught me in my psychotic incarnation, it seems. Born from suicide, that one. What else would you expect? Though that does not excuse my actions. A friend of Sonya's is a friend of mine." The Time Lord nodded and stared at the ground until he felt the mental touch of his TARDIS.

Looking up, he realized his ship was beckoning him to his room. With a sigh he glanced at the small girl and inclined his head as if to tell her to follow. Silently he walked out and into the corridor, walking down it's length until he reached the metal door which was already open. He stepped in and looked at Sonya, sticking his hands into his pockets. "Well...?"

Sonya jumped at the sound of Interfector's voice, feeling like she had been caught snooping through something private. Well in a way she was, it had to be their room, well his room and some woman's. She wasn't entirely convinced it was her at all. "Um... Nice room. Very.... Nice." She mumbled, shifting over to the wall as she tried to sneak past him and to the door. Being in close proximity to the man while in his private room... It caused an odd reaction to her, and honestly she wasn't sure that she liked it.

Feeling her stomach flip-flop at the look on his face, it was a normal look, but it bothered her in here of all places. Ducking her head down, she tried to hide the slight flush that rose to her cheeks. "I'll be going, I just... The door opened and I looked in. It was..." She stumbled over her words in her rush to explain why she was in there, her eyes looking pleadingly up at his face. She was no good at this, at all. The last thing she wanted was to be a blathering idiot in front of her supposed husband.

"I'll be going. Honestly. Sorry." Sonya mumbled, ducking her head down again, unable to look him in the eye any longer as she slowly inched her way towards the door, mentally calculating the distance between it and him and debating on if he would grab her before she reached it or not. Once the thought of him possibly grabbing her and stopping her, her stomach twisted in... Anxiety? No, she thought in surprise, nearly stopping in her slow approach to the door. She was excited at the thought. Shaking her head sharply, she sped up and tried to slip past him and out into the hallway.

Robin had no words, she just had no idea what was going on at this point. She simply followed the Interfector, not sure if he actually meant his words or not. Not sure of where they were going or what Sonya was even trying to do anymore. She just kept her mouth shut and followed, trying to figure out what she could even possibly do in this situation. Well this was awkward.

The Interfector blinked at Sonya as she stumbled over her words. Well, she shouldn't feel sorry for this, and sort of punched him in the gut. He watched her, moved in her way purposely as she tried to walk around him. He didn't think he should let her go again. Soon she picked up her pace and tried to get by, but the Interfector grabbed her arm and spun her around, pulling her into a tight hug and wouldn't let go. He had picked up how she felt through the bond and it gave him hope that Sonya was still in there somewhere. Her memories were buried in there somewhere and it made him determined to try and dig them up. But how? If he made her feel too uncomfortable she would most likely bolt again.

"I am so sorry, Sonya." He finally breathed out, meaning not just the fact she got hit by a truck... but him having a freak out and dumping her on Earth.

Sonya blinked up at Interfector, startled he actually had grabbed her but then again... She frowned slightly, resting her forehead against his chest as she thought to herself. There were those odd connections with him, he most likely had picked up her thoughts and emotions through the bond. "Um... I would say it's OK, but I have no idea what all happened..." She mumbled under her breath, unable to think of anything that he should be sorry for. It was her fault that she got hit by the truck then kept running off. She ought to be apologizing, not him.

Feeling her body loosen slightly, she hesitantly reached up and patted his back awkwardly, unsure exactly what she should be doing. Hugs weren't her thing, the last hug she had gotten was from the Doctor when she was only thirteen. Now a grown man was holding her in his room... Does not make for a normal scene, especially not one she knows how to respond to for that matter. Clearing her throat, she dropped her hands down and tried to take a step back only to realize he wasn't letting her go. Biting down her sudden panic, Sonya closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down as the sudden instinct to run flooded her mind.

"Um... Look... I... I honestly don't know what to do here." She finally confessed, looking up at his face with an apologetic shrug of the shoulders. "I honestly don't know. I don't do relationships of any kind. Hugging... Not something I do much either." She added, glancing down at his arms holding her to him with a slight blush then back up at his face. "Sorry I'm not the girl you remember, or that I can't remember anything about you for that matter, but... I can't do anything about that, now can I?"

The Interfector sighed heavily and let his arms drop, feeling awkward himself suddenly. Well, this just wasn't the same, was it? And no, she was right, there wasn't anything she could do. So he stared at Sonya and pointed towards the proper direction to the control room. "No, there is not anything you can do. So you may as well leave. Go back to your TARDIS. Leave me here. I suppose I deserve it. But it will be easier to have you gone. You here but remembering nothing is just... is just a pain." A pain in my hearts.

The Time Lord looked stern again, his face blank of the affectionate emotions that were displaying there moments before. Was this it? So quickly over, it was unfair. Why couldn't he get another chance? Why couldn't she just remember? Maybe in time she would, her head must still be healing. Memories come back, they always do...

Sonya blinked up at him then nodded slightly, slipping out the door and spotting the young girl... Robin, that was her name, standing in the hallway. Without saying a word to her, she patted the younger girl on the shoulder while heading towards the control room. As she walked along, a fuzzy image surfaced in her mind of her running through these exact hallways with someone in excitement. Something about a noise outside... Shaking her head, she tried to focus on the image only to have it fade away like everything else has lately.

Stepping from the hallway, she looked around the control room, her eyes landing on the console in front of her as she walked towards it, a hand reaching out to rest on the edge of the controls lightly, listening to the low humming it emitted. "Sorry. I just don't remember you." She murmured to the machine, giving it a slight pat before heading towards the doors across the room from where she stood, ignoring the sudden loud beeping behind her as she reached for the handle. Obviously the TARDIS was trying to keep her there, but she needed to be back in her own TARDIS, rather, the Doctor's TARDIS, still... Lady would know what to do about these faded memories.

Sucking in a slight breath, she pulled the door open and stepped outside, turning around only to close the door tight behind her and turn back towards the direction she wanted to go only to be met by a Dalek directly in front of her, staring up at Sonya's face with it's one, red eye. "EXTERMINATE!" It shouted before she could say anything and shot her through one side of the chest with it's lazer, sending her back against the closed TARDIS doors. First I get hit by a truck, and now this. Rassilon my luck just hasn't been on the good side today, has it? She managed to think to herself ruefully before the world faded to black once more.

Robin sighed, turning to watch Sonya leave the TARDIS. That was the end of that then... Then she jumped. A loud noise erupted and echoed around the room, most likely the whole ship. "What? What's that mean? What's going on?" She turned to the Interfector, actually half expecting him to start running off and doing something, because that's what most of the Time Lords she knew did - pretend like they know exactly what to do when an emergency happens. "What's the noise mean?!"

The Interfector's brows furrowed and he reached out, grabbing Robin's arm as he took her with him towards the control room.  He shouted at his TARDIS, "Display the danger on screen two!"  As soon as he entered the control room, his head turned to the screen and saw a dalek... Sonya leaning against his TARDIS.  There was no time for him to stop in shock, the inner soldier in him kicked in and he let go of Robin's hand, running towards the door and ripping it open.  He jumped out and reached into his pocket, tossing metallic balls at the Dalek that went off and electrocuted it using electromagnetic blasters.  

Once that was dealt with he turned to Sonya and dropped to his knees beside her.  "Sonya!  Sonya, please!!"

Sonya let out a low groan and slitted an eye open to look up at Interfector, a weak smile flitting across her face at the expression on his. "Well, look at that, your actually worried about me..." She paused and winced slightly, a hand reaching up to touch the blaster hole in her chest with slight surprise registering in her eyes. "I remember you now, if that makes you feel better, you jerk." She added in a mumble, looking back up at his face before slumping back against the TARDIS with a low sigh.

"I tell you, I have no luck with anything lately. My first husband abandons me, I get hit by a bloody truck, forget who everyone is and now I get shot by a Dalek that came out of bloody nowhere." Sonya grumbled to herself, glaring at the unmoving hunk of metal in hate. Wincing slightly, she struggled to get to her feet, her mind already calculating the damage and preparing her for the result. "Come on, get me to my feet, Husband. I gotta be standing for this."

Reaching over, she rested a hand on his shoulder, weakly pushing against it as she struggled to get up before letting out a frustrated cry of pain and falling back once more. "Damn it! Why in every universe there is, does it have to be me taking the worst of luck? Huh?" She snapped, looking up at the unforgiving sky as whatever strength she had in her body left her. She was bleeding fast, and if she didn't get to her feet and start the process soon, she wouldn't have a body. Looking back over at Interfect, she held up a hand to him, a pleading expression on her face. "Come on, help me up here."

Robin's eyes widened as she was dragged along into the console room, running as fast as she could but barely keeping up. As soon as the Interfector was running out of the TARDIS, she started to panic. Looking up at what he saw on the screen, she nearly had a heart attack. "No!" She turned around and sprinted out of the chip as fast as she could. Her eyes widened ever more at the sight of the bleeding Time Lord in person. "Oh my God..." She covered her mouth with her hands, not knowing about regeneration and therefore assuming this was it. "No, you're not gonna die, you'll be fine, right?" She looked pleadingly between the couple, panic overriding her sense of logic.

The Interfector couldn't rejoice in the fact Sonya could remember considering she was dying. He stared at her with pity and only broke his concentrated look when Robin asked her worried words. "She will not die, just regenerate. But she's got to get up." Leaning over her, he grabbed her and basically lifted her to her feet himself. He was wary of her pain but knew the two of them couldn't focus on it if she wanted to live.

Sonya leaned against Interfector heavily, her body trying to fail on her before she managed to start the regeneration process. Glancing over at Robin, she winked slightly, the ghost of her normal smile flashing across her face as she did. "Might want to close your eyes, girlie. Tends to get a bit bright." She said softly before sucking in a deep breath, her own eyes closing tightly as she started the flow of energy through her body, letting it take over every part of her for the first time in years. The last thought she had before the energy exploded from her echoed in her mind and through her's and Interfector's bond. Blimey this is going to hurt.

With a loud cry of pain, pleasure and pure outburst of joy, the golden light that everyone knew and associated with her so well engulfed her body and exploded outwards, sending waves of air rushing past the two standing with her, strong enough to knock a man over as it radiated around the area before dying down. Slumping forward, Sonya let out a cough and groan of displeasure as she slowly straightened her back and began checking her various parts. Without speaking, she ran her hands along her frame, judging the distance and changes with feel alone as her eyes remained resolutely shut.

"Ah.. Ah..." She mumbled, testing out her new voice as she struggled to form her tongue around the accent that came with the new body. Northern, smooth and velvety, calming almost. "Now then... This is more like it. Oh yes, I'm taller! At least by six inches, maybe seven. I'll have to check with a tape..." Turning away from the two with her, she slowly opened her eyes and studied the area with surprise. Soft colors surrounded the plants and people she could see, blues, greens, purples, reds, yellows, you name it. Each living thing had it's own unique color surrounding it.

Reaching into her pocket, she slipped out a small mirror and held it up to her face, studying the reflection with a wide grin. Her eyes were no longer the usual blue they always were during regeneration, but they stayed the golden light that normally appeared during fits of rage. Blinking them at the reflective surface, she let out a small laugh as the gold light bounced off of it and back onto her face. "Oh, this is lovely. Truly... Oh yes, I will enjoy this body immensely." She murmured under her breath, turning around finally and placing a hand on her hip, looking at Interfector with a coy smile on her face, studying the light surrounding him with interest. A silver light hovered just inches from his skin, staying the same. Unique to Time Lords, she supposed, shifting her unnerving eyes over to Robin and studying her red aura.

Robin shut her eyes tightly as she was told, but was extremely tempted to open them. For one, WHAT THE HELL WAS SO BRIGHT?! Secondly, why was Sonya screaming? Was she okay? Glad that the light was gone as she finished thinking that, she opened her eyes to see... Not Sonya. Who ever this woman was, she was NOT Sonya. Her voice was completely different, she was half a foot taller, and what the heck was going on with her eyes?! "What... What the hell is going on? Who the hell are you? Where's Sonya, what have you done with her?" When her eyes locked onto the woman's she took a step back. They were glowing. GLOWING. "What..." She looked to the Interfector, her heart racing as she simply couldn't look at the woman anymore. This was wrong. This was insane and mad and she was terrified. "What the hell is going on?"

The Interfector shut his eyes as the familiar gold glow engulfed Sonya. The regeneration process caused him to flinch as the force smacked him in the face. Well, there it goes then. When it was done, he opened his eyes and just stared at Sonya, gaping a little at the change. He wasn't complaining. Her voice was an interesting change and he sighed, shaking his head as he turned to Robin. "Calm down, that is Sonya. Time Lords regenerate, don't you apes know anything?"

Sonya's eyes shifted over to Interfector, analyzing everything that happened between the two before clearing her throat loudly. "Yes, I regenerated, a process all Time Lords go through when they die. Now if you don't mind..." She said with a glance down at her clothes, a grimace crossing her face at how poorly fitted they were. Her waist narrower, legs longer, not to mention her torso as well. The shirt she had rode up her stomach and fit much too tight for her liking.

Turning around, she studied the area, focusing on the alleyway across the street where the TARDIS was parked. "I'll be on my way." Without another word, she strode off across the grass, her too-tight shoes pinching her toes until she stopped and kicked them off to walk barefoot. Already she was mentally going through the wardrobe in the TARDIS, picking out several outfits she would try on the second she reached it as she walked along.

Suddenly, the thought of the Doctor rose up in her mind, causing a grimace of irritation to cross her face. Oh yes, she would be paying a visit to her old friend... It was his fault she never got herself back into one piece, why she never knew until recently. Oh... There would be many things she wanted to talk to him about. But for now..." She craned her neck slightly, staring around the city with a slow smile. She might stay here for a bit... Do some things before moving on. Yes... This body would be fun indeed.

The Interfector frowned. Something was terribly wrong here. Terribly. He reached out with his mind and took a peek inside her head, only to recoil in surprise. No, this can't be right. She was so different... yes, that was what a regeneration did but the thoughts in her head... they weren't Sonya's, they couldn't be.

As Sonya began to walk away, the Interfector followed her briskly. "What do you mean you will be on your way? Sonya, stop." He didn't like this at all. The vibe that was rolling off of her in waves was unnerving. Maybe the smack to the head did something else to her. When she thought of the Doctor, he immediately picked it up and grimaced. No, not good. At all.

Jogging, he grabbed Sonya's arm and spun her around so she was now facing him. "Stop it! Just stop and think about what you are doing. I can still hear you, you know. I know what is going on in your head. And let me tell you it is not a good way to be at all. Trust me, I was like that all my life, remember? Sonya, please." Begging. The Interfector was actually pleading for her to listen to him. He needed to convince her this wasn't who she was. That dark... dark feeling wasn't his Sonya. Maybe she would stop to listen now that he took on that tone, a tone he never had. Helplessness was not a good feeling and the Time Lord found every time he felt it, he worked his butt off to get rid of it.
