Back In The Real World

Hours later, Sonya made her way out of the Zero grav room, her steps more even now as she made her way towards the room she had left Robin in. She did slow the time down in there, but not nearly as long as she had said she would. A few hours stretched into a few days at most if she had gotten the timing right, then again, she was rarely off her calculations anymore it seemed. They were second nature to her now at this point, this regeneration and this state of mind, she was built for it.

Pressing her hand against the door, it logged her biological scans and slid open to admit her into the white cell where she saw Robin curled up on the mattress, her back facing her as she faced the wall. Stepping into the middle of the room, she ignored the door as it slid shut behind her, her gold eyes studying the girl closely before tucking her hands behind her back. "I think you may have had a little time to yourself. Have you thought over your mistake?"

Robin's eyes shot open at the sound of Sonya's voice. When did she get here? She curled up tighter, trying her hardest to become as small as she could be. Her mind raced with all of the answers she could give her, but it seemed to her that no matter what she said, something bad would happen. Closing her eyes tightly, she tucked her knees all the way into her chest and wrapped her arms around them, waiting for the punishment she would get for her silence. If she told the truth, which would be no, of course she didn't think about the bad thing, she'd be punished. If she lied, shed be punished. It didn't matter which way, she'd end up punished. Instead of deciding, she simply waited.

Sonya stayed silent for a moment longer, letting Robin have the chance to speak before reaching down and gripping the girl's collar, pulling her forcefully up into a standing position facing her. Leaning down, she glared into her eyes, her own flaring suddenly with a dark anger that she rarely let get out of control. "I asked you a question. I expect an answer." She hissed between clenched teeth, the urge to throw the girl against the wall nearly overpowering her. Carefully she cautioned herself to stay calm. Right now Robin was near the breaking point, once she got her there, she would do anything she asked. But now, now she needed to be treated differently.

Without waiting for Robin to reply, she hauled her out of the room, dragging her down the corridors of the TARDIS until she reached another room the required her touch to open once again. Striding in, she pushed the girl into a chair and strapped her wrists down tightly to the arms. "Now then... Torchwood trained you, I know they have... I've read your files, Robin. But what they did... It was so simple compared to what happened to me with Unit so many years ago." Sonya began slowly, walking around to the table behind Robin's chair and beginning to fiddle with the instruments she had gathered there for this reason. "I plan on replicating that exact scenario."

Robin yelped as she was dragged away once more, her heart beginning to race again. Taking the moment to breathe as they stopped by the door as Sonya opened it, she tried to gain her footing, loosing it as soon as she was dragged inside. A squeak escaped her throat as she was thrown into the chair, her wrists strapped down before she knew what was going on. Instead of struggling, she listened carefully to what Sonya was saying, trying to figure out what she was doing now. Her heart skipped a beat. Sonya was a Time Lord, she was only human! A child, at that! Was she even going to survive whatever they did to her? "Sonya, p-please! No!" She shouted desperately, struggling with the restraints. Oh God...

Picking up a small brand she had created in the past few hours, Sonya walked back in front of Robin, her hands gripping the girl's wrists tightly as she leaned over and stared into her eyes. "Pleading won't get you anywhere with me. Emotions are not a strong point anymore. In fact, I have no emotions at all unless I'm around anyone, funny now regeneration works like that. Apparently, if your bonded with someone and you regenerate, you have no emotions after that. All you feel is an echo of what the other feels. And if you kill them, well... You get the picture." She said with a cold smile, her uncaring eyes staring into Robin's frightened ones.

Straightening back up, she twisted the top of the brand, causing the tip to heat and glow with a fire, white color as she twisted it around for Robin to inspect. A simple Gallifreyan symbol was on the end for her to see. "This is a brand, I will make it so no one will look at you without pity again, child." She hissed before pressing it into the girl's cheek roughly, her eyes closing at the sudden scent of burning flesh as it wafted up from her. "It says my name, you are mine to control and no one will take you after that." She said in a fabricated tone that she thought sounded caring as she pulled the brand away, leaving an angry red Gallifreyan symbol left behind. "Consider it my gift."

Robin's eyes widened at the sight of the brand... Oh God. She leaned her head back as far as she could, pressing it into the chair behind her as she screwed her eyes shut. Only one thought ran through her mind - OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD. As the hot metal burned into her cheek, she screamed louder than she ever had. That was easily the worst pain she'd ever been in aside from dying. As soon as the brand was removed, she was quiet except for her heavy breathing. It took just about all of her might not to cry, and even then, a few stay tears leaked out, some stinging as they ran over the Gallifreyan tag imprinted on her. A whimper slipped through her lips as she opened her eyes, staring incredulously at the Time Lord. And she once though she was her friend...

Sonya blinked down at the girl, a flash of anger shone deep in her eyes as she reached down and gripped Robin's chin tightly, tilting it up so she could glare in her eyes again. "I said that was a gift. I haven't heard a single thank you for such a wonderful thing." She said darkly, leaning close enough for her breath to wash over the girl's face as she narrowed her eyes further. "Say it, say 'Thank you, Sonya.' Now." She said in a dangerously low tone, her golden eyes flaring up with a feverish light as she spoke.

Robin squeaked in fear as the monster grabbed her chin, forcing her to stare into her eyes. She gulped, listening to her instructions. "Th-Thank you, S-Sonya." She stuttered, eyes wide with fear. Was she serious right now?! Well of course she was. Right now all Robin wanted to do was wake up and find that this was all some horrible dream and that she was still trapped in Torchwood. She drew a shaky breath, barely handling the fear and pain.

Sonya smiled slowly and patted Robin's newly branded cheek lightly, knowing the slightest touch would cause a bolt of pain to shoot through her jaw at the moment. Until the brand healed that is, perhaps she'd do it again in the future just to enjoy that moment of patting the new burn, but until then, she would simply have to wait and see how things played out. Turning around, she began pacing back in forth in front of Robin, seeming to forget the girl as a scowl colored her face. Mentally she was arguing the pros and cons of having Robin on board, burnt and curled up in a corner like an obedient pet.

On the other hand, a mindless monster that listened to her every command would come in handy as well. Casting a sideways glance over at the girl, she silently studied her expression bordering on the panic-stricken and terrorized at the moment. She could go in any direction honestly, she could snap and become enraged from the treatment like Sonya herself had done in UNIT just before escaping, or she could break completely and be curled in a corner or following her around like an abused puppy. Both had their perks, but she liked the weapon idea more. But how to get her to break in that direction was the problem.

Stalking out of the room, she strode into one of her nearby labs, shuffling around in the drawers for a moment before pulling out a similar syringe she used on Robin earlier that day, filled with the same drug in a more concentrated form. Perhaps a little nudge in the right direction couldn't hurt while being tortured.

Robin yelped as Sonya touched the burn, wincing in pain. What was even running through the Time Lord's mind right now? She didn't have emotions, she said so herself, so she had to have something to gain from this. What, though? What good - or evil, really - could come from torturing a child? Her eyes followed Sonya as she paced, moving back and forth as if she was watching a tennis match. Of death. As Sonya left the room, Robin didn't know whether to be scared or relieved. On one hand, she had a short moment of piece, but on the other, she had no idea why Sonya left or what she was doing that for. She decided on scared.

Walking back in, Sonya studied Robin once more, a trace of curiosity flashing in her eyes as she stared at her. Blinking slowly, she made her way over to the girl and leaned down, watching the expressions as they played across Robin's face with what almost looked to be confusion before a sudden wall slammed down in her head, blocking off any more emotion that might choose to show itself. "Right then. Robin, my pet. Do you know what dear Sonya has for you now? Another present." She grinned suddenly, flashing her teeth at the girl in what could be described as a grimace. Holding up the syringe, she tapped the edge lightly with her finger and raised an expectant eyebrow at her. "Can you tell me what this is?"

Robin gulped, staring nervously at the syringe. "U-Umm.." She had no clue what would be in there, she didn't know about drugs or anything. Whatever it was, though, it was going to be injected into her, and that was not good. "The... Um... Liquid M-Meth?" She took a wild guess, naming the only drug name she could remember in this state. If she was wrong, that wouldn't be good. Well... It'd be bad either way. She took a shaky breath, trying to ignore the heat on her cheek and focus.

Sonya clapped enthusiastically at Robin's answer, her gold eyes dancing in amusement as she spun around in a small dance. "That is correct, and now, my pet, what do you think I should do with this? Should I just set it aside and leave you alone to stare at it? Or perhaps... Put it to better use?" She asked in a sudden teasing tone, the wall had slipped again, and the mental connection from the girl was overwhelming her at the moment, allowing Sonya to sort through any emotion Robin ever had in her past and present. She was drunk on them, unable to stop herself from gorging on the various types she sensed and felt.

Robin trembled, eyes locked on the syringe. Okay, more meth. NOT good. Wait... What was the point of making her mad at her? That wouldn't help anything, would it? She fidgeted under her gaze, feeling a slight pressure in her head. "P-Please, don't..." Her eyes flickered to Sonya's, then back to the drug. "Please..." Her voice came out much too weak for her liking.

Sonya chuckled darkly before leaning in to stare in Robin's eyes, her gold ones refusing the girl a chance to look away before a sudden psychic pulse was fed into the girl's brain, triggering memories, emotions and images of those she knew in the past, of Mal, the Doctor. All of her friends except for Sonya's own image as they flickered past in her mind over and over again before the needle met with Robin's neck once more, pushing the burning fluid into her skin. "Now then... We can begin in earnest." She murmured in her ear before walking behind her and out of Robin's view as the continued memories flickered past in her mind in an endless loop, forcing her to see each face over and over again as the drug began to take effect.

Pulling what looked to be a cattle prod from the items on the table, Sonya turned to stare at Robin's form from behind, studying it momentarily before pressing the tip of the prod against her shoulder, sending a jolt of electricity arcing through the young girl for a few seconds before moving to the other shoulder and repeating the process.

Robin gasped, her eyes staring in front of her, unfocused. The needle poked into her skin, a hiss of pain escaping her lips. "N-No!" Her eyes widened, the images of Mal, the Doctor, Theta, and all of her other friends passing in front of her. Her tears began to overflow, her mind racing with only one question. Why? Why weren't they here to help her?! Why were they leaving her to this torture?! She let out a cry of pain, convulsing from the shock of the cattle prod. Barely having time to catch her breath, she screamed again as she was shocked again. "No! P-Please!" Why were they hurting her?! Why were her friends causing her such pain?!

Sonya's cool smile spread into a mad grin at Robin's words as she moved the prod farther down, pressing it into the small of the girl's back and turning the power up on it. Even if she did manage to paralyze her, it wouldn't last long. A little regenerative energy transference would fix the problem and she could continue what she set out to do. From the emotional state she was in, Sonya estimated it would only be another hour or so before the girl broke completely and directed every ounce of anger she had towards her once-friends without the help of any drug. The mere sight of them would be enough to trigger the anger, the need to attack.

With that comforting thought in her head, Sonya turned around and retrieved a small scalpel and began adding small, painful cuts to Robin's visible pressure points, striving to achieve what she wanted without causing too much physical damage. The last thing she needed or wanted was to waste so much energy healing her and end up feeling weak for the next few hours.

Robin cried out in pain and fear, arching her back as the electricity flowed through her. "No! NO!" Struggling with the restraints, she tried her hardest to get away from it. "PLEASE!" She scrunched up her face, as well as the rest of her body as the scalpel dug into a pressure point, her scream echoing through the room. "Stop! P-Please!" She begged as the scalpel was pressed into another point, her subconscious blaming the Doctor for doing it. The next was blamed on Mal, then Theta. Why?! WHY?! Tears flowed down her cheeks, her body trembling from the combined fear and pain. Through her sobs, she choked out, "No! NO! NO!!"

Leaning over her shoulder, Sonya hovered her lips by Robin's hear, listening to her cries quietly then resting her hands lightly on her shoulders to gain the girl's attention. "Shame on your friends, leaving you hear like this, to take all of this pain. No place for such a girl like you." She murmured quietly, playing off of Robin's misguided anger towards her friends with an excited flash in her eyes. "How could they do this? Leaving you at the hands of a monster... They're the monsters, aren't they? They've done this to you." She added as a final insult before tossing the scalpel onto the table behind her and walking in front of Robin, her hands gripping the girl's over top the straps holding her down. "Tell me, Robin. Who did this to you? Who are the people that caused this pain?"

Robin tried to quiet her sobbing, tried to listen to the faint words floating by her ear. What? They were doing it? They weren't just standing by and watching... They were hurting her... Torturing her... Blinking her eyes, she tried to clear the veil of tears, not succeeding. She flinched as Sonya took her shaking hands, her eyes widening and searching so desperately through the fog to find her. Who did this to her? "M-Mal... The D-Doctor... Th-Theta..." She ended it there, closing her eyes tightly as she fought to keep the tiny bit of calmness she just gained. They did this. THEY did. How could they? She was only ever their friend, why would they hurt her?!

Sonya felt another grin flash across her face as she undid the straps holding Robin down to the chair and helped the girl stand on her feet, knowing she would be shaky and weak after what she had put her through. "Come on, get up, move." She murmured impatiently, insistantly moving Robin towards the door and down to the med bay a few doors away from where they were and laying her on the table. "Lay still while I fix this." She said shortly to the girl, already readying another syringe that would counteract the effect of the drug in her system. Leaning over carefully, she made sure Robin could see her face as she pressed the needle into her skin and administered the counteractive. "There, good as new."

Robin slowly got to the floor, her eyes trained on her shoes. What? Did Sonya just save her? But she though Sonya was evil! That she hated her! But no... She saved her from them. Breaking out of her thoughts, she slowly realized she was laying down somewhere. Taking a shaky breath, she tried to calm her racing heart and figure out what was going on. The next thing she could see was Sonya's face hovering over her, telling her she was going to fix her. She hissed as the needle jabbed her neck, having developed a strong fear of them within the past few hours. "W-Where am I?" She tried to sit up and look around but found herself too weak. At least her headache was feeling better.

Sonya studied her project pet for a moment, tasting the emotion rolling off of her as she seated herself on the edge of the cot Robin lay on, assuming what she believed to be a worried expression. "You were tortured, I brought you here. Said something about Theta, Mal and the Doctor but you words were slurred so I couldn't understand." She murmured, forcing emotions into each word she said as she struggled to appear the concerned friend. Eventually she would begin to use less and less before Robin would notice and then she could return to her normal self. Thinking over the next month of this, she repressed a shudder. Turning her attention back to the girl's face, she studied her eyes with her gold ones curiously.


She had used their names purposely to see her reaction to them. If everything had gone correctly, she would react with anger to them and refuse to say another word other than the barest details. If not... Well, she had plenty more hallucinogenic drugs that would work wonders on her tiny mind, better ones that would coax a wonderful reaction out of her towards her friends. "What happened, Robin?"

Robin flinched at the mention of her former friends, a scowl settling onto her face. She rolled over onto her side, staring blankly at the floor. She didn't want to say what happened. She didn't want to mention them ever again. Shaking her head, she took a shaky breath, her hand coming up to wipe her tears only to meet with the brand from earlier. She slowly dragged her fingers over it, deciding that it was a good thing. She was Sonya's. Sonya saved her, she owed it to her. Taking another weak breath, she decided on the simplest answer she could give. "They hurt me..."

"I thought they were your friends?" Sonya spat out, a sudden anger lacing her words at the mention. Feeling her hands clench reflexively, she sucked in a breath and slammed a barrier down on Robin's emotion as it poured out of the small girl next to her. She would have to be more careful from now on, if she continued to mention them, even their names could set her off and in turn send a dark anger through Sonya's own mind and end up ruining everything she created for Robin to believe. "You shouldn't worry about them, forget them and stay here. I'll be sure you get your chance to get them back for what they had done." Sonya continued in a low tone, a hand reaching out and patting Robin on her shoulder as she stood.

"Find yourself a room when your ready to move. I have settings to put into the TARDIS controls." She finally said shortly, already tiring of this game. Emotions were no longer a strong point for her as she mentioned earlier. Dealing with Robin's was mentally draining her and causing her temper to become shorter than it already was. Leaving the girl to her dark thoughts, Sonya walked down the corridors and into the control room, already having plans on what they could do first. It wouldn't take long to track one of her friends down and test the limit of her anger towards them.
