Someone I Used To Know

The Inventor is in his tardis reading a book absentmindedly while drinking a cup of tea. As he beams at the book he looks at a picture of his former friend and his girlfriend The Artist. The Inventor stares at the picture sighing remembering the time when The Artist had betrayed him and tried to kill him. It caused him so much pain in his hearts that he fled the earth far far away in another galaxy. Recently he had found out she had died when he returned to earth but it didn't really upset him much but on the inside he was torn. The Inventor sighs and gets up putting his book down staring at the console.

Meanwhile on Earth someone else - Medwyn to be more specific - sat there reading and drinking tea as well.
Sitting in the grass of a little park in 23rd century's San Fancisco she enjoyed her (well earned) shore leave and the warmth of the sun.
For several days now she was studying lecture about Sontaran history. Even though she had learned about them in school (like every 52nd century child) she never met some, but nevertheless found them fascinating.
(Of course she could have traveled to one of their planets, space stations or ships, but Medwyn never used her Vortex manipulator for personal purpose.)
Taking another sip of tea she closed her eyes for a moment, processing the last couple of pages on her datapad, until her thoughts again - without her even intending to do so - circled around herself and the Time Lords. Maybe she indeed was some sort of an anomaly attracting other anomalies. (But then again Medwyn had difficulties calling someone else besides herself anomaly at all...)
If things develop further at this rate, it starts getting impossible... She thought to herself, until she forced herself to be logical again: Impossibilities were sheer impossible!

The Inventor sighed and touched the controls demiteralizing the tardis into the park that Medwyn was in. The Tardis roared into the park demiteralizing close to where Medwyn is. He walks out wearing the outfit that is in his profile picture and he sighs smiling at the scenary. The Inventor looks over on the right of him slowly seeing Medwyn and he smiles sitting on a bench reading a newspaper whistling a gallifreyian song.

Medwyn opened her eyes again and wanted to continue reading when something caught her attention.
She felt looked at for a moment which made her rise a little, slide down her sunglasses a little and take a look around.
As she eventually spotted The Inventor an a small bench she released a smirk.
"Oi!" She exclaimed towards him. "...Long time no see - What brings you to San Francisco?"

The Inventor lowered the newspaper slowly and smiles,"Just exploring I guess haven't really been to The United States before. He folds the newspaper neatly and gently puts it in his coat pocket then stands up. "What have you been up to recently Medwyn, he asks?"

"Oh, well - The ancient US are worth a trip or two-" She answered with a slight grin, finally rising from the grass and slowly walking towards him. "A Fascinating sociocultural subject."
She put down her sunglasses and took place on the bench next to him.
"To answer your question. I'm still doing the usual - as I have always done.
Keeping events proper, y'know...
I however visited some new interesting planets recently, new creatures, more Time Lords - The usual.
What about you?"
She looked at him. of course he did not age since the last time they met, but since Time Lords did not even age within centuries, Medwyn had no clue how long it had been for him.
"How long since we last met?" She asked in a jaunty tone releasing a little grin.

The Inventor shrugged also grinning a bit,"Too be honest I have no clue" he says. "It most certainly feels like years since we have seen eachother but its good you have not aged". "Of course timelords don't age unless they are in their first incarnation then when they turn into their new body they don't age" he says. The Inventor smiles looking around the park then he looks back at Medwyn "I have been seeing some one" he says with a smile.

To be honest to herself, right now Medwyn did not have a clue how long it had been since both had seen each other as well.
To her it did not feel like centuries, but she however felt as if it had been quite a long time ago.
"Whom?"
Medwyn asked curiousely towards his telling as she looked at the Inventor.
"I hope your last travels have been successful."

The Inventor smiled as he looked at her,"Her name is Clara" he says. The Inventor pulled out a locket with a picture of Clara in it and he chuckles a bit. "You may know her...her name is Clara Oswald,I have had a crush on her before and now I am going out with her" he says.

Medwyn grinned a little.
Of course she had heard the name before: Clara Oswin Oswald - Yet another unsolved mystery held within the archives of the agency...
Some people held theories that she was a Time Lady, but the many reported deaths and the missing regeneration changes led Medwyn to believe that she was another sort of phenomenon.
"Congratulations!" She said with a friendly smile and nodded towards him. "From what era is she?"

The Inventor nodded smiling a bit then he frowns sitting down thinking about The Doctor and how much he misses him. He looks at Medwyn slowly,"Sometimes my life isn't complete when friends I have known long in my life have been gone for awhile"he says. "Like The Doctor I haven't seen him in awhile I try to contact him but he never answers".

"Oh, well..." Medwyn mused.
"I see him now and then - Our ways seem to constantly cross. If you like, you can come with me. I think that might drastically increase your chances to meet him - Along with all other Time Lords I assume."
She gave him a warm smile.

The Inventor nodded,"But what about the tardis I will not leave her here" he says. The Inventor got up slowly,"I hope I can meet him with you I really would like to see him again" he says.

"Oh, my - Don't worry! Id would never suggest to do this!"
Medwyn answered quickly.
She knew how much a TARDIS was tied to her operator, and Medwyn would never try to disturb a bond like this.
"But I can come aboard your TARDIS if you like, and together we can go and search for the Doctor."

The Inventor nods and he opens the door and walks in leaving it open for Medwyn to enter also. He smiles sitting down looking around,"Been awhile since you have been here huh?" He smiles getting a cup of tea offering her some.

As Medwyn stepped into the Invento's TARDIS, she smiled a little.
It indeed had been some time...
"Yes - Must have been centuries or so... Nice to be back again."
Se looked around a little, then thankfully nodded, as the Inventer offered some tea to her.
"Have you had many adventures since we last met?"

The Inventor shook his head slowly,"Not really just Traveling through the tardis" he says. "I don't go through many adventures I mostly just wait for The Doctor to come and visit". The Inventor sits down in a chair sighing.

Medwyn nodded, and thoughtfully patted the Inventor's TARDIS' console.
"Is there something important you need to tell him? Or why do you wait for him?"
She took a sip of her tea and looked at him for a moment.
Maybe he was in trouble - Of course she hoped not, but it was possible...

The Inventor shrugged,"He is just a good friend of mine I haven't seen In a long time. "I known him for a long time almost my whole life". "I just wish I can see him and spend some time with him maybe travel with him for awhile".

Medwyn nodded.
It almost sounded to her, as if he was a little bit sad.
"Just as I said - I work pretty well as Time Lord detector. Wherever I am they seem to appear as well..."
She grinned at him.
"Maybe we should try checking out some distant locations where no one else would dare to go..."
