Souffles and Shenanigans

With a big yawn Alice had awoken to her first morning, or whatever time it was, inside the TARDIS. As she lifted herself from bed she was met by the sight of her room which looked like an exact copy of the one usually seen in her own time. It was a perfect fit for her, making her feel like this was a home away from home whenever she stayed with the Doctor on his adventures.

Lifting herself up and out she began to dress while still thinking on the grand situation that was her life with the Doctor now. Her old normal life had seemed like a lifetime ago and yet it was only a day, at least to her. Every time she reminded herself that she was traveling in a machine shaped like a box where a privy would be stored through time and space with a man who could change his face and live for hundreds of years she felt like she was living a fantasy storybook turned real.

She prefer to think that at times as well. The idea that everything was magic and not just over advanced science as the Doctor would always explained it to be. To her it felt like a real story about her life was being written, and not the one she was so infamously remembered for throughout history.

After finally dressing Alice made her way through the metal corridors to the control room of the TARDIS, surprised to not see the Doctor there. She called for him before hearing her own voice echo through the room, possibly the whole TARDIS itself, before realizing the ship was not moving. She figured they landed and the Doctor had stepped out to wherever they were. She walked to the door to check for herself, poking her head out and looking to see what was basically a modern day town.

Alice didn't think much of it only commenting to herself how the buildings hadn't changed much, before going back inside. She knew the Doctor had warned about going anywhere without him, being how she was only from the 19th century and was far behind some of the places they would likely visit.

Deciding to wait for him Alice came to the idea of walking to the kitchen inside the TARDIS to at least make herself morning tea. Once there it had taken her a few minutes to find the pots and cups and where to get the water and so on but them came lighting the oven. She, of course, had no idea how it worked and tried fiddling with it for a few moments.

"Blast this thing." she said when she found herself stumped. "Why couldn't the Doctor have just stayed with lighting a fire under a teapot?" She fumbled around more while asking herself "Surely there has to be a manual or something to make this thing work."

It had finally come to the point where Alice was banging on the over to try and get it to work. She shook her head and cursed under her breath when the flames would not appear. Finally she noticed the nobs on the front and turned them, only to turn them too high and cause a large flame to burst from the over top. She jumped with shock before turning it down so the fire was gone, Alice taking a moment to regain herself.

She kicked the over and said "You accursed thing!" before hearing a gasp behind her.

Turing Alice saw Clara standing there and gasped as well. Not just for the fact of someone having entered the TARDIS after the Doctor explained it was secure enough, but also the manner of her dress. Of course Alice wasn't used to seeing girls dressed like Clara was in modern times, so the first thing she did was looking her over and seem a bit embarrassed to have done so.

With an angered look she said "How dare you come into this place without asking! The Doctor will be furious when he discovers a 'lady of the evening' has intruded into his Tar-dis! I shall send for him immediately and have you thrown out."

With that she hastily walked passed Clara and made for the control room where she hoped to find the Doctor. The entire time she had a little stuck-up attitude towards her, mainly because she thought she was the 19th century equivalent of a prostitute.

Alice, being the stern type that she was, ignored Clara when she laughed as she walked to the control room only to find the Doctor not there still. She called for him but, of course, there came no answer. She sighed with annoyance before Clara had told her to explain herself.

Turning she said "You should be the one explaining why you are here, whoever you are. Do you think you can just waltz in wherever you please, as if this were a pub to drink and be drunkenly merry? Now either you leave at once or I shall escort you our personally."

With that last remark had some a more challenging tone. Alice made it clear she wasn't to be trifled with just because of her age or her gender; even those she was dealing with another girl. She was prepared to do what was needed if it meant getting rid of this strange girl.

Alice looked offended when she was called the intruder even to the point of giving a flabbergasted response. She then looked more annoyed and angry when Clara had challenged her to try and make her leave. Instead of busting into a rage she merely took a breath and put her hands behind her back before keeping a more proper manner.

"I think you've made it clear you are also delusional as well as rude. But then I suppose one goes with the other with your type. So be it. Don't say I didn't warn you!"

She then walked forward and grabbed Clara by the arm and tried pushing her out. Since the two began to struggle Alice only kept trying to keep her hold on her while doing what she could to make her leave the TARDIS. All the while she gave little comments saying for her to leave or stop being such a child about it and just give up and the like.

Alice had gaped when Clara had hit the controls. At first she shied away, expecting something to blow up or the like, but then looked oddly when the image of the redheaded girl appeared.

"My god!" she said. "Look at what she's wearing! You should be ashamed for not covering your legs more, madame!" she said, not knowing she wasn't real. After that she watched as the image and Clara seemed to bicker for a moment before the latter began fiddling with the controls. She rushed over while saying "Wait! Stop! You don't know what you're..."

By the time Alice reached her and grabbed her wrist it was already too late. She looked and listened as the TARDIS began to move before eventually landing wherever they were. Once it had stopped Alice gave Clara a mix of annoyance and frustration at what she'd done. She looked ready to burst but took a few deep breaths to keep herself calm.

She only turned away and said "I hope you're happy now after that."

Alice reacted with "If I wasn't here?" before Clara went about dealing with the TARDIS.

As she watched however, Alice began to get the impression Clara wasn't just some stranger who happened by. If not for the fact that she was just as insistent as Alice that she wasn't intruding then for the fact she seemed to know how to handle the TARDIS as she did. Granted she wasn't exactly flying it but just the way she reacted and all.

When Clara had opened the door Alice was a little ways behind her but caught a glimpse of what she thought were stars. Not fully know she walked over after Clara walked back to the controls before looking out into space itself. Her looked with such awe that her mouth hung open for a moment as she looked out to everything around her. To see sights like this was such a bewildering thing for her could've almost fainted then and there.

She then noticed a small planet nearby. Not earth but a lighter greenish one that was roughly the same size.

Alice closed the door and walked back to the inference, saying "There's one not to far. If you'd be so kind as to take us there, miss." After that she turned to Clara and said "While we're waiting, would you mind explaining yourself. Mainly how you know so much about this machine. Are you another friend of the Doctor's?"

When Clara had given her answer Alice, instead of being confused, nodded and said "I see. I don't suppose you met him when you were only little and didn't see him until you were old then, correct? Unless he just makes that a habit with the people he befriends. That and changing his face of course."

When they'd landed Alice walked out with Clara only to see the same sight as she did. Instead of being angry she was actually more intrigued. It was such an exotic looking world, some outskirts of a forest with very alien looking plant life. Alice only looked and examined with a curious and amused face while Clara dealt with the control panel and the interface.

Alice had followed Clara out of the TARDIS, looking around, when she heard her suggest exploring. She gave an awkward look before, seeing as there was no real room to argue, she sighed and shrugged. This was her basically saying 'why not?' given their predicament.

In answer to Clara's introduction Alice held her hand out and said "Alice Carrington. Pleasure."

Alice intended to ask more but her attention was caught along with Clara's when the aliens arrived. They were somewhat short, standing at least 5 feet tall at the most. They had a mix of purple furry bodied with uniforms they wore. The masks they wore covered their heads and faces but it was clear they were some sort of round-shaped heads. When they spoke they had an odd crazy language that seemed like random words at first before being cleared thanks to the TARDIS's translator.

Alice, following Clara's example, said "Yes. Peace. We're allies, unless you mean us harm. In which case we are far from allies."

"Human!" they kept saying "Human! Alien! Take to leader!"

Hearing that Alice commented "That doesn't sound at all promising." before they jumped on her and Clara.

They held them down before some pulled out what seemed like futuristic cuffs. They placed on on each of their wrists and ankles before they formed an energy chain that linked them together. After that the little creatures pushed them to their feet and then moved them along to their transport. It was a large carrier-like vehicle with two empty cage-like containers on the back, which the two were thrown into before being driven off. However they'd loaded one more thing on: the TARDIS.

The entire time the creatures were saying "Big box! Big box! Take big box!"

Alice, taking in the entire situation, said to herself "So far I'm not exactly enjoying this planet."

Alice didn't have an answer to Clara's theory and, given what she'd seen next, she couldn't exactly talk either. The creatures transported them towards a large metal fortress-like building in the middle of the forest they were in. Once they'd entered it became clear this was a city, not a very large one though.

There were more species walking about as they traveled through the streets. Some included bug-like alien that walked like humans. Fish people. A few tree-like aliens and even what looked like raccoons.

They were being brought to a large building in the center where a statue of a more human-like alien was sculpted out of black metal. Eventually they were brought up into what was actually an office for the mayor of the city. He sat as his large desk with a window overlooking the rest of the city before turning to see what was brought to him.

He was human-like yet had very dark yellow skin and green eyes. He seemed young, looking about 30 as compared to a human, and was somewhat handsome as well. His suit was human-like as well but was colored differently.

Looking at the captured girls he said "Well, well. Isn't this a surprise." Looking to the minions he asked "Where did you find them?"

"Out in forest. They come in big box! Box come from nowhere."

The mayor gestured for the TARDIS to be brought in next which it was. He stood and began circling it as he examined it. He of course tried to open it without succeeding. He huffed a little before walking back to the girls and standing between both of them.

"Did you come here in that?" he asked. "If so then how do you open it? Or do you just hang on for dear life?"

After Clara joked Alice gave an amused huff while the mayor looked more annoyed by it. He waved her off and gave a cross look to Alice to keep them both quiet as he walked back to the TARDIS. It was at that point that Clara had asked where they are and all.

"You're on the planet Vesconia 4." he said. "And the idea of you being a threat was never an issue. I'm not exactly sure where you're both from but around here humans are something of an extinct species."

Alice obviously scoffed at this, shocked as she was, before saying "That can't be. Humans extinct? But we were just on earth. They thrive as much as they have for the past thousands of years."

The mayor looked back at both her and Clara before asking "Just what time do you girls think it is?"

The mayor gave odd looks to both of them before saying "Wait....I see what it is now." a smile growing on his face. "Ah, yes of course." Looking back to the TARDIS he said "This transport, whatever it is, it must be some sort of stasis pod or the like." He then looked back to the girls and said "That's why you're so confused." He chuckled at this before saying "Ladies, allow me to welcome you to the year 26,457. Your human race hasn't been seen in over a thousand years after the great migration of Earth. Some say the humans went far beyond. Others say they didn't get far enough. But here you are, two living humans who are here. On my planet!"

As he sounded so assured Alice commented to herself "Seems he has it all figured out." sarcastically.

After that he looked and answered Clara with "I and my people are know as the Ticharti. And these...things' he indicated the police "are the native beings of Jenaburs. They've limited intelligence but enough tenacity they perform well enough. But enough of that, tell me about your box. How do you open it? Are there others inside?"

In answer to Clara's question Alice merely replied with "Aside from the woman who got us into this situation, no. No one else was there." She looked back to the Mayor and said "And I'm tired of all of this. I demand to be released. Along with our box."

The Mayor only chuckled at this before saying "Such spirit. I hope you keep that once your accommodations have been made." When asked what he meant he responded "Why for you place in our menagerie of extinct creatures from all around the universe. I think you'll find the people will be happy to see two surviving humans in captivity. Perhaps if you breed it might even become a tourist attraction." While both girls were disgusted by that the Mayor ordered them away before saying "As per the box, take it to the museum. If we can't open it at least it will make for a nice edition to the displays there."

With that the little minion creatures went about dragging Clara and Alice off while handling the box. The mayor only turned back to his duties brought to him at his desk before sitting down. By that point both of them were being hauled off to what was basically the zoo or this place.

The "cage" they were thrown into was one you'd usually expect to see animals in at a zoo. It was only so big for both of them while having a barrier in front that kept them on the inside while keeping it clear for the alien races to view perfectly from the outside. In terms of what was inside it was a mix of furniture more from Clara's time, even though a lava lamp for some reason was added.

After a moment of looking around Alice commented "If we ever get out of this, remind me never to come to this planet again." She then turned back to Clara, a little annoyance her her face and tone, as she said "Then again I do emphasis on the IF." She sighed before walking over to one wall and leaning against it while looking out the glass and commenting "Almost feels worse then when I was little. Too bad Dinah isn't here. And I highly doubt anyone will write a book about a girl stuck in a cage with another." Turning to Clara she asked "Unless that is a popular thing now among your people?"
