| 21st century. Earth. Cafe. The location was a common one for Theta, ever since he'd been introduced to the little shops 4 years prior. What wasn't to like about them? They were small and friendly, offering chips, baked goods, and mmm once and a while they even had something pear related! Not to mention they were on Earth; this planet, Theta decided as he stared at its bright blue sky through a large cafe window, was one of his favorites.
Thet's gaze turned from the window and down to the small device in his hands with which he was struggling to work. He'd gotten this cellphone about a month ago; it'd been his 33rd birthday, and Sonya had finally "forced" him to go get an Earth phone, seeing as he was on this planet so much. But no matter how good he was with a TARDIS, this stupid little device was irking him to no end. It took forever to type things out with the little mini-touchscreen (why'd they make them so small?), and even when he got to the point where he was typing a little faster, there were typos everywhere. Theta grumbled something about human tech under his breath and finally gave up on the device, shoving it into his jeans pocket none too roughly.
The seat across from him was empty, sadly. He'd tried to text Sonya and see if she'd like to join him for lunch, but apparently she was too busy jumping out windows and protecting her lucky charms? Honestly, that Timelady had to be the craziest woman he'd ever met... and that was including insane-older-New-Earth-ruler Mal.
He sighed and decided he might as well eat while he was here, then, since Rassilon knows he'd never be able to cook more than a peanut butter sandwich on his own. Thet slid the napkin box over; the menu was attached to one side. Hm, lunch items... salad? Nah, too vegetable-y. Maybe a cinnamon roll; that sounded un-nutritiously delicious!

| The Master walked along the sidewalk with a relieved sigh. Sure he enjoyed having company, but a Dalek, a strange cat-person, and a human were a bit too much to handle all at once. He was glad to be on his own again, at least for a while. He was sort of hungry and decided he'd stop somewhere and get something for lunch before he continued with whatever he was going to do. He turned and when inside the nearest cafe. As soon as he stepped through the door, though, something stopped him in his tracks.
Looking around, he located the reason immediately. Alone by a window sat a rather young-looking boy. But the Master knew it wasn't just another human, though. He always did know a Time Lord when he saw one. So he walked over to the table and in a voice he hoped sounded friendly asked, "Is this seat taken?" He didn't know many other living Time Lords, so he wanted to find out who this was.

| "Nah, go right ahead" Theta took one more glance at the menu then slid it back to it's place near the wall, figuring the prospect of conversation was much better than having an internal battle on whether he should have soup or cinnamon rolls. And new company, too! He did love meeting new people.
...well, he thought he was new company, at least. There was something familiar about this guy... but why couldn't he put his finger on it? Theta leaned forward by a fraction and scanned the man's face, looking for any recognition on his part.
"I don't know you, do I?"

| (delete this if not allowed) Jennifer decided to visit her favorite café this morning, she used to visit all the time with her husband. While visiting often made her sad adventuring in-between made up for it. As she walked in she noticed two men sitting alone maybe they were in a business meeting? Then she did a double take she recognized one of them is was the former prime minister! Digging into her rather large carpetbag she found an old newspaper showing his picture. Curbing her impulse to confront the man she sat nearby to keep an eye out for trouble, hiding behind the newspaper. | |

| "Cheers," he took a seat across from the stranger. He pulled the napkin box in front of himself, looking at the menu. When the younger Time Lord spoke again, he looked up. "Hmm," he thought, leaning forward slightly as he placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin in his hand, "Now that you mention it, I think I kind of recognize you... Not sure where from. Although, I was the Prime Minister, so maybe that was it? I met a lot of people, and I can't really be expected to remember them all." He knew very well that was a lie, but he didn't want to tell this guy who he was yet. And it wasn't entirely a lie, he did sort of recognize him, he just had no idea how they knew each other. He really did want to find out, though, so he promised himself he'd give an honest introduction at some point. Just, maybe not now. | |

| "P-prime minister?" Theta's eyes shot up to his hairline. No wonder this guy seemed familiar. Prime ministers were practially famous... well, in Britain, anyways, less so in the rest of the world. But it was entirely plausible that that's where he recognized this guy from, and he accepted the explanation, though something still nagged him at the back of his mind.
"You look rather young for a former prime minister... isn't that supposed to be a super stressful job, or something?" a waitress came by, pen and paper in hand, asking for their orders. Theta just ended up getting a water, much more interested in chatting with a former leader than actually having lunch.

| "Yes, I suppose so. I'm not really that young, though, I'm older than I look. I've got a condition that makes me look younger than I really am," he replied. It wasn't really a lie, was it? Being from a different planet. No, he decided, not as long as he wasn't asked to specify what the condition was. "It was a rather stressful job," he added, "Why d'you think I'm the former prime minister, eh?" When the waitress arrived, he ordered a coke, giving up on the idea of food and deciding his time would be better spent thinking about who this was rather than trying to decide what to eat. | |
