September, 2015 10 Miles from Forest Creek City Limits, Texas, United States of America
Anthony Andrews sat atop a small rocky outcrop that overlooked the waters of the mid-sized creek that flowed below, letting his dark brown hair flap freely in the wind. This was the place he went to think alone away from people or simply to get away from the stresses of adjusting to a new high school lifestyle. Most other kids his age would be hanging out with friends right now, but not Anthony. He roamed free through the acres of forest surrounding the neighborhood in which he lived on a regular basis, fulfilling his love for prehistory by hunting for various ancient fossils that littered the creek beds. So, normally, he was at home here. But, today, something was off. Anthony was unsure of what, but something was undoubtedly wrong. Everything looked normal through his eyes. Anthony unbuttoned the top button of the Magellan fishing shirt he wore to cool off, stood up, and continued through the forest, looking for something, anything, that seemed out of place. He couldn’t stray too far from the creek, as it was the only major landmark, and it was all too easy to get lost out here. As Anthony followed the creek, he was unsure of what to tell his friends when he got back, if anything. “Maybe it’s all in my mind.” He said under his breath. “This place has a way of messing with your head sometimes.” Wandering the same area he had the previous evening, he came across something extremely disturbing. Laying in a small clearing ahead of him was the tattered body of a large cougar, an already rare sight in the first place. The normally brown fur of its pelt had been stained red with blood. Large cuts lined its sides. The thing looked like it’d been ambushed. It’d had no time to fight back against whatever had killed it. Anthony waited in the brush, not wanting to get any closer for fear of attracting the usually an apex predator’s killer back to the grisly scene. The mud of the creek that ran nearby below was also stained a shade of gruesome maroon. He didn’t like any of this one bit. This little outing of his was definitely not easing his nerves like he'd meant it to in the midst of the transition to high school life. He checked his watch. It was nearly 7:00, and Anthony needed to give himself time to get home before dark. As he left the clearing, Anthony failed to see something that would have been eerily familiar to him: a moderately large footprint imbedded in the mud. It had two birdlike toes with claw marks at one end and one smaller one, assumedly being held off the ground at the time that this print was made. No bird alive held it's inside toe off the ground in such a way.

| "So are dinosaurs real?"
Robin peered around the console at Theta, carefully watching where she put her elbows. "Like all those big feathery things from the old Earth?" She moved around to take a seat in a spin-y chair, swiveling idly while examining the controls halfheartedly. "Cause they kept telling us, when we were little, you know? All this stuff about old Earth's science that they got completely wrong. Said dinosaurs are a myth, but..." Robin gripped the console's edge and threw herself for a complete 360 spin. "Knowing who's in charge of the science around there, I don't think I'd trust them, myself, do you?"
At her point in time, of course, Torchwood had basically become the voice of God, with Mal's control. She really wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't single-handedly rewritten every history book in their possession. For a moment she stopped to wonder what was going to happen if their generation was so poorly informed... Perhaps they'd have to colonize a New New Earth - that was, if they didn't manage to screw up space travel, as well.
"And were the actually supposed to be feather-y or is that a lie as well?"

| Theta looked up from where he had been working at the console, eyebrows raising in surprise.
"W-wha'? Of course dinosaurs are real!! Don't tell me you've never seen a dinosaur?" now that Theta thought back on it, he and Robin never did go to the Mesozoic Era, at all. he'd just guessed they had, because of all those trips he'd made in the past with temporary companions to see the overgrown lizards. People seemed to be infatuated with dinosaurs in the 21st century, but apparently, that wasn't the case forever.
"That's it, I'm taking you to go see some dinosaurs... which kind do you want to see? There are lots out there, you know" Theta walked over to the other side of the console, where Robin was, bringing up a few pictures of dinosaurs for example, most of them taken by himself and companions, since not many humans had the chance to bring a camera to the Mesozoic Era. In one of them, there was a towering Brachiosaurus that was too large to fit in the whole picture, tugging at the leaves of a giant tree. In another one, there was a single, small, chicken-like dinosaur chasing himself ... wait what? When had that picture been taken?
"Wait, that was the one trip with... Amanda? ... ugh, now I know why she didn't stay more than a few hours" he swiped the picture away, then left the rest to float so Robin could look at them. He continued in a cheesy, gameshow host(ish) voice "Pick a dino, any dino!"

| ((((Sorry Voy :U don't wanna keep you waiting TOO long, ya know? Just gonna try to quickly move us towards you, if possible))
Robin rolled her eyes, laughing at his poor impersonation skills. All the same, she certainly did have a ton to choose from. Also note - Torchwood DID lie to her. The jerks. Then again she didn't really expect anything less. Scanning over the pictures, she just sort of shrugged. "I don't know, you're the expert, apparently. Pick one," She stood up, beginning to wander a pointless circle around the console. "How're ya gonna find that specific type of dinosaur, anyway, if I did choose? Lock onto it or something? That's a bit like stalking, isn't it?" She joked, slightly amused at the idea of Theta stalking prehistoric reptiles. Or where they more birds, then, she supposed?
"I don't know, find a big one. If you're intent on shattering the oh-so-sound science of the 53rd century, might as well do it with style."

| (Don't worry robin. ;-) I got dis) Mood Track: Aggressive Expansion: The Dark Knight Anthony had only just left the clearing when he felt something. Perhaps intuition, or perhaps a fight or flight sense kicking in. He stopped dead in his tracks. The hairs on the back of his neck stood upright. A smell flooded his nose like the one he'd smelled at the kill site. An almost sweet smell, but repulsive at the same time: the smell of blood. Something disturbed the brush beside him. He turned his head to see absolutely nothing. He saw something move quickly behind him in his peripheral vision. He whirled around to once again find nothing. His instincts screamed at him to run. And run he did. Anthony sped through the brush as fast as he could, jumping over fallen trees and clearing creek beds in a single leap. He couldn't tell what was after him, but something was following closely. He didn't dare look back to see what. After a few minutes of running, Anthony was starting to slow down, and his aggressor seemed to have given up. Where it had gone was what worried him. Disoriented and now deeper in the woods than he'd ever been, Anthony tried to find the creek, the only landmark he thought to be consistant. He came up on a clearing a found something particularly strange. The clearing was lit by a mysterious light. And then, the blood smell was there again too. He followed to its source and found a man in military type uniform with a tag with the symbols TW lying dead in the brush. His wounds were eerily similar to the mountain lion's. "What's going on?" Anthony thought to himself. On the ground near the man laid a small, metal device. It had only a few buttons and a keyboard. His finger hovered over a red one that said, Transmit Emergency Vortex Signal. He flinched as he heard a gunshot in the distance, most likely someone hunting. The device dropped on the ground and the button was mashed into the ground. Not noticing this, he picked the device up and reentered the clearing. What he saw was like nothing he'd ever known. For a moment, he thought it a mere trick of the eye, but he walked around it and knew whatever it was was physically there. A certain portion of air looked as if light were being refracted differently there, like a 'bending' pencil in a glass of water. He stuck a stick in and found it to disappear on contact with the light refraction. He pulled it back out and threw it away somewhere in the brush. He back away slowly. None of this made any sense. But yet, he knew it to be real. The thing started to make strange, high pitched noises as something emerged from its depths. A noise, almost a growl, was caught up in it. Anthony backed up farther, not knowing what to expect. A small reptilian looking animal no larger than a house cat emerged. It stood on small hind legs and had a little neck frill. It made a little squeaking noise. "My gosh." Anthony murmered. He suddenly realized that what stood before him was an Aquilops Americanis. He was seeing a live member of the Dinosauria. | "Wha-no, I don't stalk them... It's nothing like stalking!" oh, okay, maybe a bit. But in his defense, technically, Lady would be the one stalking the dinosaurs, not him. Because she'd be sending them there...
Oh, he didn't really have an argument for that, did he? Theta grumbled in defeat, looking among the pictures for something 'big' (and hopefully with few teeth). He found among them an interesting looking dinosaur with what looked like a duck's bill, Parasaurolophus (it wasn't too dangerous and it was large, perfect!), and decided on that, entering the command sequence that would take them to any nearby Parasaurolophus. Job done for the moment, he stepped away from the console and leaned against the railing.
"I think you'll like this one; it looks kinda like a duck, but it's huge! And it's got some sort of head, crest, thing" he squinted as he tried to think of what it was called, but fell far short "You know, I don't even know what it's for, but it certainly looks cool!"
There was a jerk as they, presumably, landed. Theta bounced away from the railing with a grin on his face, striding over to the door quickly and pulling it open for Robin; he was anxious to see her reaction to a Prehistoric world; he was told by Sonya, that when he'd seen dinosaurs for the first time, he'd looked like he was going to faint from joy. Hopefully Robin wouldn't be quite that emotional about it (Theta suspected Sonya had been exaggerating), but her reaction would be good, none the less.
"Tada! Giant, non-mythical lizards!"

| "Well you've got the lizard part down?"
Robin raised an eyebrow, stepping out of the door cautiously, wary of the small vicious cat sized thing. "You know as far as prehistory goes, this is looking pretty... lush." Of course it wasn't that lush, she supposed, but as far as she was aware, she should be expecting a desert. Then again who knew right? Perhaps she should just be focusing on the living myth in front of her.
For a moment she considered moving towards it, but it certainly did not look nice. She didn't want to be rude. Invading on its... whatever it was doing was probably rude. In fact, what was it looking so angry at anyway, besides her? Finally looking somewhere other than the dinosaur, she realized they weren't alone. "Oh, hello, there. There is a person. I am pretty sure people are not a part of prehistory. Theta what did you do?" She called behind her, raising an eyebrow, but not quite daring to look that far away from the little beast.

| Anthony couldn't believe what he was seeing. The little creature trotted around, sniffing the air of a world it had never known. Anthony crouched down to its level. It cautiously trotted over to him and investigated his hand, which he had reached out in hopes of luring it near to him. It was funny how unafraid it was of him. Anthony guessed it had nothing to fear. It'd never run acrossed a person before. He slowly moved his hand to touch its small, frilled head. And then, there was a strange noise from a short distance away, almost a scraping, whirring noise that rose and fell. Then, it stopped. Both Anthony and the Aquilops jerked their heads up in surprise as a man of probably 20 something and a reddish haired girl not much older than himself strode into the clearing. "Oh," Anthony said, his eyes widening in surprise for a moment, "well... Ummm, hello."
The girl didn't seem all that surprised at seeing a living dinosaur about to be petted by a human boy. In fact, neither did the man whom she'd called Theta. He wasn't really sure what to say. It definitely wasn't a situation that he was used to, and doing things and saying things in these sort of situations wasn't exactly his strong suit. Heck, he'd never even worked up the courage to approach that one girl his friends had urged him to ask to that dance in junior high. He looked up to the two assumed portals behind him, back to the Aquilops, and then back to the two people in front of him. The little herbivore let out a soft, nervous squawk. "You said it bud." Anthony thought to himself. "I've got no clue what's going on either.

| Noah sat down by her fireplace reading a book, a documentary about spiders. Noah was taking vacation in America to visit her Stepmother's family. Noah had no real reason or excuse to read it besides the small saying, knowledge is power. Well that and there was nothing better to do while waiting for summer school to start in an hour. She woke up way too early. The fire was nearly out and it was the middle of day so she might as well put it out, no?
Noah was bored and she hated the book. She could care less about spiders. She texted her dad, "Im heading 2 school" and left to go get her bike from the garage. The bike was large and red. She liked it and rid it all of the way to summer school every day. The ride to school was about a 25 minute ride. It could be worse. When she got to summer school she put her bike on the bike rack and waited for school to start.
Summer school was horrid for Noah. It made her want to take a nap but she had to fight her sleepiness. It wasn't fun at all in her opinion. She was glad to be finally done. She went over to the bike rack and took her bike. Once she tried riding it, she noticed something was wrong. The tires were flat. She hated it when that happened. She had to go to last resort if she wanted to get home fast enough. She needed to take a shortcut through the woods.

| Seeing as both of the people in front of him looked slightly confused, though maybe not as surprised as Anthony imagined they should have been, Anthony decided it'd be best to attempt to explain as much as he knew. Though, that admittedly wasn't much. "Umm.. So... Yea.", he began and then paused for a moment. "Small herbivorous dinosaur in modern day North Texas. That's about all I know except that I think it likes me." He looked back to the Aquilops, who was currently nibbling on some fallen leaves next to Anthony. | |

| "I swear, I didn't do it"
Theta strolled out of the TARDIS, closing the doors behind him then turning back around to inspect the tiny little dinosaur they'd happened across. As soon as he saw it, he broke out into a grin, crouching down to it's level and holding out a hand to the little critter.
"Isn't he cute, Robin? You're just a tiny little fella out of his time, aren't you? Yes you are..." He glanced over at Anthony, only now realizing he was there; he made no moves to stand up or move away from the small dinosaur, though he did give the teen a small, sheepish wave.
"Hello there, uh, you must be terribly confused about" he gestured to the dinosaur "this..." he finally stood up, sharing a look with Robin before looking back at Anthony inquisitively "Say, you didn't see where this little guy came from, did you? Or any people with weird looking watches on, or strange warp-y noises... it's all relevant I swear"

| "Umm... Yea. I did happen to see.. A few of those types of things." He then gestured to the two shining portals behind him. "He walked out of that one on the left. As soon as I saw it was what looked like Aquilops Americanis, I kind of just stopped questioning when you guys came in. Not to be rude, but why aren't you more surprised at seeing a real live dinosaur?" He then remembered the smell from earlier. And the body. "Umm.. Also, there's this." He got up and pointed in the direction of the dead army style man and the remote which now sat near the corpse. | |

| Noah was uninterested in rolling her bike through the woods all the way home. No trail at all. Big chance of getting lost. While walking home, she was just humming. Not anything in particular, just what sounded right to her.
On her way home, Noah came across three people. Two males and one female. She just walked past the group until she gleamed at the ground. A dinosaur. She quickly dropped her bike and closed her mouth, holding in a scream.
"What is that!" She stared at the dinosaur with fear in her eyes.

| "Don't worry!" Anthony said attempting to calm her down. "He's harmless. Don't yell or you might scare him away. I'm pretty sure he's a dinosaur. An Aquilops Americanis to be exact. I don't know what else it could be. He turned back to the man that the girl had called theta. "Is that what he is, really?" Anthony wasn't sure why he suddenly trusted the man, but he seemed trustworthy enough. The girl's name was Noah. That much Anthony knew. She'd come recently from Britain for summer school and was still around. Anthony had seen and heard of her once or twice, but hadn't formally met her or anything. | |

| Theta glanced behind Anthony as he gestured behind him at the portals, blinking in surprise. They weren't the biggest wormholes he'd seen, but they certainly looked large enough to fit more than a few dinosaurs through. As interesting as they were, however, the corpse of the dead army man was of much more interest. Or should he say much more creepiness. It seemed to have large, claw like marks down it, obviously attacked by... something. And judging by the small dinosaur that stood innocently next to them, and the portal it had come out of, that something wasn't a very good something...
"Oh, uh, who are we?" Theta glanced over at Robin with a questioning expression, trying to come up with something believable on the fly "We're... archaeologists" that would explain why they weren't surprised by the dinosaur... wait, no, archaeologists in this time period didn't actually interact with dinosaurs, did they? "I mean, police! We're... archaeological police"
...that wasn't very believable, was it?
Theta waved a hand in dismissal, abandoning the idea of explaining themselves "Never mind who we are. There are two active wormholes behind you, spewing out dinosaurs, and judging by the claw marks on that corpse, not all the ones that come out are as friendly as little Aquilops, here" he glanced back at Lady. He didn't really like inviting strangers into the TARDIS, (not until he got to know them over solving a heap of trouble, that is), but it really was the safest place for them. It'd be easier to see what caused the wormholes and close them when ignorant teenagers from the 21st century weren't wandering about and making themselves walking dinosaur-chow targets "Perhaps you two should stay in the TARDIS while Robin and I do some... uh, important archaeological police stuff"

| "Hold on a second!" Anthony protested. A. Archaeology is the study of ancient civilizations. The study of dinosaurs and prehistoric life is Paleontology. B. Paleontologists aren't police. They're scientists. And 3... err.. C. I may be 15, but I'm not dumb. My life's dream has always been to see dinosaurs alive and in the flesh, dangerous or not. I know almost everything there is to know about them that we can figure out right now, from the Triassic to Cretaceous. Plus, you'll want me with you. I know most of these woods like the back of my hand. I've been exploring them since I moved here. Please let me come. I want to help. Also, what on earth is a TARDIS?" If he could convince this Robin and the man talking to him to let him go, he might see more than just Aquilops. This was turning out to be an exciting day indeed. | |

| Noah stares at the dinosaur. After she hears the words 'Archeological Police', 'TARDIS', and 'Wormhole' she turned to the man with a look on her face that basically just says 'what the heck did you just say?' Noah turned her head back to the dinosaur. She first kneeled down to pet it and then she started rubbing it's stomach. She then remembered that dinosaurs are definitely not like dogs so she quickly jerked her hand away.
"Um... Can you repeat what you said? Noah got back up and looked over at the man "I didn't understand a single word you said"
