The Doctor turned to Care and nodded, "I'm going to help you..it's going to take both of us to close the portal. Both of our concentration, i will be here to help you through it..i promise" he reassured her. Walking to the left side of the helmet, The Doctor adjusted the settings on the nobs and powered it on before turning his attention back to the janitors closet door. With a large exhale, The Doctor opened the door and stepped into the room. There was no need to switch on the light as the portal now glowed a bright blue, its width growing by the second having consumed the bucket The Doctor had previously placed over it.

The portal began to waver and swirl as The Doctor approached it, preparing to send something through. "We have to do it now" The Doctor proclaimed, glancing back to Care and placing his hand on the helmet, "Focus on the portal. Visualize it in you're mind and imagine it closing. Imagine the link being cut. The helmet will amplify your powers and close the po-" "DELETE!" a robotic voice exclaimed from the portal. The eyes of a Cyberman suddenly began to slowly rise up through the portal, glaring at The Doctor and Care, "All must be upgraded or deleted!" it roared. Quickly closing his eyes, The Doctor began to focus his energy into the helmet and helping Care; most of the work would come from her but he knew would need his help. Internally The Doctor feared the worst, he began to fear that the plan would not work but he tried to shake off the thought as the helmet began to work. An orange ring began to pulsate from the helmet and down to the portal, forcing the portal to slowly retreat into its self and stopping the Cyberman's accent.

This doctor tried to reassure her, and it was kind of him. She was glad he would try to help her and that she wouldn't be alone to close this thing. And yet, she dreaded it anyway. Last time she used her mind to do hard things, she was left with quite a migraine. But it was worth it, all those lives, she had to protect them. Her pain was nothing.

As soon as he powered the helmet on, she felt something, an energy in her, passing right into her brain. It felt strange, both painful and powerful. Made her feel like she could do more. She closed her eyes a moment to find her inner strength, to find this place within herself where she felt the golden energy resided. She focused her mind on it, and then she sends her senses away. It was hard to describe how she would do it, or how the portal felt exactly, but it was alien. It didn't belong here, it was wrong. She could feel it pulse, like a poison leaking slowly into their world.

She mentally sends herself into that energy, into the portal. Not on the other side, but directly in it. She had to close it, to destroy the connection. She could feel the energy growing there, but she could also feel she had power there. Imagining that she was dispersing the energy, that she was shattering what was keeping it together. That she was forcing the sides of the tearing to close, to be stitched. She pushed, pulled, attacked even the energy of the portal. She sends all she had, used all her concentration. The rest of the world become distant, then inexistent. There was only herself and the portal to close, and that distant presence of the "Doctor". This distant same presence she had felt, sent energy even in her dream, but she didn't register it yet. She was entirely focused on her task, the pain growing in her head as the portal was closing.

She was also feeling the emptiness of the creature inside the portal, trying to get through, but she couldn't acknowledge it. She had to keep focusing on the portal. It was hard, so hard to do. Her body was feeling the strain and not just the pain in her head. Beads of sweat were forming on her forehead, her hand started shaking imperceptively, her breath was becoming more short, like if she was running. She was feeling cold, very cold, but she didn't care. She didn't even feel it yet. Later on, she would be more than exhausted, but right now, she completely in her task. She was sending all she had to do what had to be done.

And it seemed like it was working, she saw the portal closing, she could feel it do so. It was amazing, she felt powerful, even if it hurt very much.

But the metal thing wasn't done with them. It was still coming for them. It's metal arm extended and aimed toward Care with the clear intention of firing at her. She couldn't move, she didn't even see it, her eyes closed in concentration.

Charity dealt with several 'earache' cases, dumping the de-activated cybermites into a pail which she kept off to the side of the operating table where she was working. The work was dull and tedeous but also very necessary and important, she knew, so she kept on with it. Patient after patient was relieved of their ear problems and wheeled off to beds to recover from the ordeal.

But somewhere, amid all of the de-activated cybermites, there was one.. just one.. that got missed. Maybe she missed it, or maybe she didn't hold the sonic at it long enough, or maybe it actually had the presence of mind to fake being de-activated, but whatever the reason, there was one little mite that got discarded into the pail without being properly de-activated. No one noticed, not Charity, or the nurse helping her, or any of the patients they were helping. Charity just carried on with her task.

The mite twitched a little at first, then began wriggling its way up toward the top of the pail. As more cybermites were added to the pail, it managed to climb onto them and, eventually, crawled out of the pail. As Charity worked on pulling another cybermite out with the sonic, she was so focused that she didn't notice the mite on the floor, crawling over to the nurse beside her. Then, just as she got the cybermite out of the patient's ear, the nurse's scream startled her and she jumped, spinning around to see what was happening. In the process, her grip on the tweezers slipped slightly.. not much, but just enough for the squirming mite to wriggle free. It, too, fell to the floor and Charity tried not to panic.

As the mite crawled swiftly toward her, she remembered the Doctor saying not to let it get on her. She backed up hastily, then grabbed her blaster out. The mite jumped at her and she hastily dodged, deciding that it would be a bad idea to try and shoot it while the nurse was behind it in the line of fire. But why had the nurse screamed to begin with? She glanced at her and saw the other one, then looked at the other which had turned and was coming back toward them. The nurse was panicking and backing off, but the mite jumped at her before Charity could think of what to do. She gasped and rushed over to try and help the nurse get it off, but in doing so left the other one unwatched, so she didn't notice it crawling onto the top of her shoe.

"Come on..come on..almost there" The Doctor mumbled under his breath, watching as the portal slowly closed and the Cyberman's slowly coming to a rest. Just inches from The Doctor and Care, the Cyberman stopped and froze with the sound of released air escaping out from its hinges; The Doctor exhaled as the portal sealed shut and the metal arm fell to the floor harmlessly. As the last blue light from the portal was consumed, it released a flashing wave of light across the hospital. As the wave passed over and through the patients, the Cybermites lost their signals and quickly deactivated, falling out of the patients ears as they shook their heads. The light slowly faded away, and normality returned to the hospital; The Doctor looked over to Care, "Hey, you okay? You did it! You did it!" he told her softly, slowly removing the helmet from her head.

Picking up the arm off the ground, The Doctor scrutinized the dead arm carefully before releasing one last exhaled, "It should be fine but..i'll keep it just to be sure" he said out loud as he opened the janitor closet door. Turning back to Care, The Doctor placed his free arm around her shoulder to give her support, "You did good, not many can harness their powers the way you can..it's an amazing gift and a strong one too".

As the portal collapsed, Care felt relief, pain, and exhaustion floods her. She felt like she had run a marathon while having a heck of a headache... but hey, she saved the day, so why would it matter how she felt. She was proud of herself for doing the right thing. She would have endured a lot more pain then she was in, and would probably as the day would go on. She must admit thought, that she had never felt that bad after using "magic" before.

The doctor slowly removed the helmet from her head and it helped a bit to alleviate some of the pain in her head. She did her best to smile to him and removed the sweat from her brow. Despite the pain and exhaustion, she couldn't keep from feeling good. She loved helping, saving people, the adrenaline and all. She was quite a junkie of it in fact.

She had missed it all back at home. It was always too quiet. Every time she got back, she was happy to be there, to have some vacation, but it never lasted. She always felt called back into action, into adventure, called away. And never before, did it felt that real, that good, that homecoming.

The voice of the Doctor penetrated her foggy and hurt mind and she blinked, coming back to the present. It took her some time to process what he had said exactly, and then she felt her cheek blush. She was never really the sort of person who felt comfortable being complimented and all. She did what she had to do.

"I was trained well by some kind of angel back when I was a teen. She is the one who chose me and a few other things. I've got no merit in neither my gift or my training."

She felt ashamed suddenly, she never really spoke of that to anyone. A few people knew, mostly her most trusted "student". But never before did she confessed it to a complete stranger. The fatigue seemed to have taken her guard down. She must seem quite mad to him now. That was a shame. She hoped he would take it as a joke, or some other thing. She shouldn't have felt so much confidence in a stranger. But her instinct had often been right, but still. She had trusted people, stranger, before, and it hadn't paid out.

She had tried to talk about it to a priest back then, and he just told her she had too much imagination, and the others one clearly had thought her crazy. So she never really spoke of it to anyone after that. She had a job and a reputation to keep, and she passed for crazy quite enough without that bit of hallucination going public. She didn't want to finish her day in an asylum.

She quickly amended.

"Forget I said anything, I had a lot of imagination when I was a teen, and I kept some imaginary friend longer than most. It was useful to help me harness my powers, but well, everyone has gifts right? Some are awesome carpenters, I have that bit of a trick. Useful to close interdimensional portal it seems, but not that useful on a daily basis."

She closed her mouth just in time to stop herself from speaking of premonition and prophetic dreams. That would clearly cast her as insane. Even if after that strange day, she was starting to fear she was indeed crazy and good for the straitjacket.

"Perhaps we should make sure Charity is alright, and make sure no one else ended up like that poor doctor."

The headache was really starting to take it's toll now that the adrenaline was slowly receding, and she was afraid she might say too much about herself in her condition. She also had to check on the nice couple that ran the place where she was staying at.

Charity grabbed at the mite that was crawling on the nurse, and flung it off of her. Then, feeling something on her ankle, she looked down and saw the other one on her shoe. Gasping, she tried to kick it off, hopping around on the other foot. She grabbed onto the edge of the operating table and bent down to try and snatch the mite off of her leg, panicking a little as she remembered the Doctor's warning. Then, suddenly, she remembered the Doctor's screwdriver in her hand. She aimed it at the mite and pushed the button to deactivate it. Watching it drop off of her leg, she let out a sigh of relief before turning to look for the other one. Where did it go? She'd just flung it without looking at where it went. She looked around hastily before suddenly something dropped down from the ceiling, landing on top of her head. She gasped and felt up by her hair, trying to grab it out before it could do anything to her.

Suddenly, a wave of light flashed across the hospital. She felt the wriggling mite suddenly stop moving, and she snatched it from her hair and stared at it for a moment before relaxing once she was sure that it was deactivated. But how? She hadn't pointed the sonic screwdriver at it or anything. She looked over at the nurse but was just in time to see her hurrying from the room. She couldn't blame her too much. But that also left the question of what just happened? What was that wave of light? She hurried into the waiting room and saw that everyone there was shaking their heads and the mites were falling out, deactivated. She was puzzled, and ran down the hall to find the Doctor and Care, feeling sure that this had something to do with them. Had they succeeded? She hoped so!

The Doctor arched his eyebrow with intrigue at the comments made by Care, "Yeah i suppose..but i have a feeling you're ability isn't just a trick. I'll check for any other Cyber mites or men that might still be lurking around..although that pulse should have done the trick". A grin emerged on The Doctor's face as Charity entered into the hallway and running towards them, he was glad they were both safe above all. Both Charity and Care's work to stop this spread of Cybermen had made The Doctor proud and almost jealous that he didn't get to do more. The Doctor chuckled at the thought before closing the gap with Charity and embracing her in a hug then reaching back and pulling Care in with them, "Haha! You two were amazing!".

Sam escorted two patients to adjoining rooms while Rebecca made overhead calls for all personnel to return to the front lobby; a normalcy began to radiate back within the hospital. The clouds outside began to give way to sun shine and emit light through the front doors, The Doctor released a sigh as he broke from the hug and placed both hands nonchalantly into his pockets. Walking out of the patient room with a notepad at his side Sam approached the trio in the hallway, a light smile displayed across his face, "I owe you guys a thank you. We really couldn't have kept this under control without you...but who are you really? I mean normal people just don't stop stuff like that..". "Yeah.." The Doctor started a reply, glancing at both Charity and Care before finishing, "I guess you can say we're not quite normal".

Care couldn't felt more embarrassed and nervous. The words of this "Doctor" didn't reassure her the least. She had always made a point in avoiding attention over her gift, even when she was teaching others, assembling psychic people together, she made it in a way that wouldn't make them question her. And she had a killing headache, which made it hard to think straight. She was used to the pain by now, it was some old friend, but still.

She was there in her thought, trying to breathe evenly and slowly, doing her best to separate from the pain as she would usually do, when the Doctor brought her into a three group hug. At first, startled, she almost resisted, but then she realises it was no threat and she hugged back. She missed that kind of thing as well, the camaraderie she had with other red cross volunteers.

She smiled when the strange man said they were both amazing.

"I wouldn't have been able to do anything without your help. We might have been amazing but I am certain that without you, we would have been nothing. So it makes you someone awesome."

She truly believed the last part. He was a total stranger, random guy, who could see what the situation was and was able to make what had to be done happen. This was more than what they both did, because, without his advice, presence and encouragement, none of them would have been able to do half of what they were able with his help.

The hug broke off and they walked out of the room to be stopped by a nurse, and it was the second time she was called out as abnormal. And before she could deny it, the doctor acknowledge it for them all.

*The Shime of the Lonlay Poot... how can I get out of this without being flagged to any of the paranormal agencies. How can a day blow me up so much. If I could just think a bit more straight*

But there was nothing to do right now, except maybe trying to surf the flow and look as it was a normal day under the sun for her.

"But honestly, who isn't in this world. Anyone with the knowledge probably could have done what we did. We will let you return to your patient, I'm sure you have loads of work to do, and we will be on our way."

She had to get out before any of the hospital personals started asking questions. She was a foreigner, and she didn't want to have any trouble with the law, or the agencies around here. If the two others wished to stay and help, they could, but she couldn't. All that was needed of her had been done, and now she was eager to leave. Some would have stayed to relish in their glory or something, but she truly hated that part.

Charity grinned as she saw the Doctor and Care ahead. They were alright! She was so glad to see that they were both alright. She had hoped that the weird light and everything stopping was due to them and the things they had been working on to stop the cyberthings. She was grinning as she ran up to the Doctor.
"You did it! I'm so glad, and not a moment too soon.."  She trailed off as she was pulled into a group hug, and laughed a little. She returned the hugs, smiling. "I missed one of the things and it was in my hair and it made me drop another one and.. the nurse ran off.."  She shook her head a little, calming down. "I'm so glad you stopped those things when you did."  She shuddered a little at the thought that she could have become like that doctor who had been controlled by the cyberthings.

She smiled as she listened to Care.
"You're right, the Doctor is very awesome."  She grinned at the Doctor, then smiled as the nurse came up to thank them. "I'm glad we were able to help."  She replied to her. "I hope things will stay pretty normal around here from now on."  She said with a smile. "I'm sure that you and the wonderful doctors and nurses here can take care of everything now." She smiled and wished them all good luck as she went with the Doctor and Care as they left the hospital.

The Doctor released a sigh of relief, the situation coming to a close and so was the day; the TARDIS calling out to The Doctor and Charity as they exit the hospital. "You know..." He started, looking over to Care, "If you ever need our help again, just call. I'm sure we won't be too far away..well..figuratively speaking i suppose..it'll all just depend on the time". With a sniff, The Doctor grinned and signaled back to the TARDIS with his head, "Anyways, we'd better be off. I'm sure you've got more important things to do..nice to meet you Care" he finished with a half salute before turning on his heel and heading back to the TARDIS.

Walking away from the two women, he gave them time to say their goodbyes while he checked on the TARDIS and to see if any Cybermen were detected nearby. The key twisted into place and the door of the TARDIS creaked open, The Doctor leaving it open for Charity as he entered and sauntered up the ramp. With a thud, The Doctor flopped back on the seat next to the control console, resting his converse up on the panel as he leaned back and relaxed; reaching down deep into the left pocket of his jacket, The Doctor pulled out a small white paper bag. Unfolding the bag, revealed six small jelly candies, one of which The Doctor popped into his mouth, "Mmm.." he grunted, "Could have sworn they tasted better before..".

The Doctor Is In - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Doctor Is In   The Doctor Is In - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 26, 2017 11:28 pm

Care shivered as she listened to Charity's explanation of what happened to her. If she had been a few seconds longer, no she shouldn't think about those things. They made it, and there was no point in looking at what didn't happen.

As for wishing the thing would stay normal around, she also wished it to the people around her, but for herself, she just couldn't. It wasn't her calling, and it wasn't her. As much as she liked to pass for normal, she wasn't and she knew it. She had made a vow long ago now, and she would never come back on it. Her life was dedicated to helping people, to use her gift to protect the mundane from the supernatural and strange. She was a guardian, a warrior in a war of strangeness and magic.

And then, the usual goodbyes hit her again. She had felt a connexion with that man, it had frightened her, but a part of her didn't wish them to go away, to leave. She felt all the weight of her loneliness crash into her again, but she wouldn't fight it, it was her life.

With the loneliness, the pain overtook her barrier. She had been able to keep the migraine at bay until then, keeping the pain with breathing and mental exercise, but the sadness of the goodbyes made it harder. She closed her face, hide it behind her usual jovial smile. He was gone already, it was the way her life worked. She was where she was needed, met people who needed her, and then she was alone all over again. She shouldn't be sad, she met new extraordinary people, felt part of something bigger and better then she was so often. She was doing so much good in the world. But she hated when she had to say goodbye, to return to the mundane life.

"Goodbye Doctor then... and if you need me and I'm around, I'll leave my information to you. I'm always happy to help. And I'm never too busy to do so, it's, you could say, my calling."

She took a pen and some paper from her purse and quickly wrote her email, phone numbers and name on it.

"People call me Care, but here is my real name if you need to look it up somewhere. And, well, I'm sort of unemployed right now, and I plan to stick around for some time. I... never hesitate to call on me, I'm not someone special as you are both, but... I'm not"

She lowered her voice so she wouldn't be heard from anyone else.

"I know things aren't always as plain and normal as they seem and I've done my best to help for a long time. I... I think there is more to that guy with you then meet the eye."

She just couldn't bring herself to speak of her nightmares, not like that, not in the open, and to a stranger. As much as she felt connected to them both, she just couldn't. She had been alone with those strange visions and dreams for too long.

"I would like you to count me as a friend if you need one, and don't forget me."

It felt like she was missing on something, like she was letting something important slipping away from her, but what else could she do ? Those person were important, but how ? When ? What should she do ? She was going to see them again, the feeling was strong, they would need her, and she them. That was certain, but it was so confuse. Why couldn't her intuition be more precise, why couldn't it hurt less.

Her head was pounding more and it was getting harder to hide it, but she had to wrap this up. She couldn't show her weakness, they had probably much better thing, more important things, then to be concerned for her. She just needed to lie down somewhere and wait for the pain and sickness that was going to come, to pass.

But there was something nagging at her, pushing her to reach out to them. But the fear and the pain made her want to run away and hide to lick her wounds. Why was she so afraid of that guy, why was he bringing back her strangest nightmares back to memory so vividly. There was something here, something bigger then her. What to do ?

Charity watched the Doctor take off into the Tardis. It seemed odd to just... stop an invasion of cybernetic alien guys and then walk out like all they'd done was stop in a friend's house and visit a while. They were just.. saying goodbye and leaving? Charity shook her head a little in amusement as she watched the Doctor just wander off into the Tardis. She couldn't help being amused at him. The girl smiled and turned to Care. Without her, they wouldn't have succeeded, she was sure. And even if they had been able to get rid of the cybermen without her, it might have been with much more trouble and who knows.. Charity might have been killed or something.

"Seriously, Care.. thank you for your help." She told her. "I'm really very grateful, and he is too I'm sure, he just sorta.." She thought for a moment. "I think he doesn't like goodbyes, maybe.. or.. maybe he doesn't want to get too emotional about stuff." She shrugged. Who knows, really. It sounded good, at least. She was about to go on when she thought that Care seemed like she might not be feeling well. She hesitated, tilting her head in concern. "Care? Are you alright?"

It was clear that Care was not ok.. she looked unfocused, pale and clammy.. she couldn't think of what might be wrong with her, and despite her insistence that she was fine, Charity couldn't believe it.
"Maybe..." She thought for a moment. "Maybe you should come in, and let the Doctor take a look at you... he might be able to help?" She motioned toward the Tardis. "Come on." She put an arm around her lightly and guided her into the Doctor's ship, looking concerned. "Doctor, I don't think she's.. I mean, she seems sick or something.. I don't know what's wrong." She said as they both entered the Tardis. She hoped he wouldn't be upset with her for bringing her into the Tardis without checking with him first, but she thought Care needed help first and foremost.

The Doctor jumped up at the sight of Care, leaving his bag of jelly babies on the control console as he bolted over to her and Charity, "What's wrong?" he asked worryingly. His eyes danced over Care, trying to find physical signs of trauma or injuries but to no avail; then an idea burst into his thoughts. "Help me with her, we need to get her to the zero room" The Doctor told Charity as he went to the opposite side of Care, "If it's your head, your abilities we need to get you to the zero room. It will help you calm it down, but you need to tell me what exactly is wrong. Trust me...they don't call me The Doctor for nothing".

As The Doctor awaited her answer, he pondered the situation at hand, Could it be her physic connection? Maybe a system overload of sorts? Maybe it wasn't a good idea to ask her help to close the portal.... Inside he also wondered about the zero room, it had been a long time since he had last used it, a recollection of a past regeneration dawned on The Doctors thoughts, Yeah that was a long time ago...i wonder if it still works? I wonder how dusty it is if i haven't cleaned it?

PostSubject: Re: The Doctor Is In   The Doctor Is In - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeWed Jun 28, 2017 10:14 pm

I could the situation have evolved so rapidly and so weirdly. One moment, she was being embarrassed because of Charity's thankfullness and the awkwards aurevoirs, and the next, she was being drag, despite her assurances of being fine, toward a police box. In itself, it was a weird thing to do, but for Care, it rang a big giant bell in her head. All of a sudden, she was plugging into a nightmare.

Not only because of the pain slowly growing as usual. But because she knew this box, this thing. Her worse nightmare ever had brushed about a doctor travelling in a police box. She tried to rationalise, to tell herself it had only been a nightmare, that a police box bigger in the inside travelling trough time and space just couldn't be real. No matter how magic and different her life was, her nightmare was just that a nightmare.

But she was more concentrating on keeping the pain at bay, on denying she needed help. Part of her probably didn't want to see. It was too much to cope with. And the pain was taking a lot in her mind.

So she was there, being drag and trying to tell them she was fine. And then they were inside, but she didn'nt look around right away. She was looking at the docotr and overwhelmed with all he was asking and implying.

"I'll be fine, i'm used to the pain. It happens to me from time to time. Just a migraine after concentring to much. I just need some advils and some time to rest. It hurts, but i can handle it. I've done it since I'm a teen. It's ok, no need to worry about me. I'm a big girl."

She hated to be fussed over, she felt weak, she was used to take care of others, to hide when she was in pain and deal with herself on her own.

But then she made the error of looking around to find a way out, or just somewhere to sit... and it was so real, just like her old nightmare. And the inside was bigger, the inside was a ship, and the pressure in her head grew stronger than ever. And she felt her personality clashing inside. Half of her wanted to run away from the place, to forget the cybermans, to flee what the reality of it all implied, to flee the reminiscence of the apocalypse it was the reminder of. But the other half enjoyed, was even thrilled by what it could mean if it all was true.

But it couldn't be true, because if it was, then it meant that so many humans would die in the future... and still... It was a bit too much, and speaking to herself, she reverte to french without even noticing.

"Ça ne peut pas être vrai. Tu ne peut pas être Lui. C'est impossible, c'était une histoire dans un rêve. Je suis en train de vivre une hallucination induite par ma migraine, c'est la seule explication.******

Spoiler:

She had to be dreaming, it didn't make sense otherwise. Because in her nightmare, she never had met this Doctor that Martha woman was speaking of. In her nightmare, it all had happened the exact year that was to pass, not in the future. She was too old now, it couldn't be a prophecy, and no one but her had a dream about any of the two events involving a... This Doctor.

Her head was throbbing so much, the aura in her vision growing, now she had a blank spot in the middle of her eyes. She had to lay down somewhere, curl into a ball and make herself be forgotten for a few days until she recovered.

Charity shook her head in reply to the Doctor.
"I don't know." She answered, worried as she listened to him talk about putting her into a zero room. What was a zero room? She'd never heard of it before. Where was it? What did it do? She let the Doctor take charge of the situation, since he was good at that. She kept an arm around Care to support her, in case she felt lightheaded or dizzy, or even passed out.

She felt even more worried when the Doctor mentioned something about Care's abilities. Could it have something to do with that? Maybe it was the cybermen? She bit her lip as she thought about that idea.
"Doctor, you don't think one of those mite things got in her ear, do you?" She asked in concern, remembering how all those patients at the hospital had complained of ear pain and such. She heard what Care said concerning it, that it was just from concentrating too hard, and that she needed something called advils, which sounded very odd to Charity, but she still didn't know about this. It seemed rather odd how sudden it had come on, and how intense it seemed to be.

She had no idea what she said in another language.. but then.. actually, no she did know. She had no idea how she knew, but somehow she understood what she had said. She didn't even know what language that it was, so how could she understand it? She was very confused by this, but decided to wait and ask the Doctor about it later, and stayed quiet as she helped the Doctor to bring Care to the room that he had spoken of. She would let the Doctor take over, maybe help Care to sit down somewhere, and stay there close to her for comfort while the Doctor did whatever he needed to do to help her.

The Doctor Is In - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Doctor Is In   The Doctor Is In - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeFri Jun 30, 2017 8:57 pm

The Doctor arched his eyebrow, noticing the obvious pain Care was in and the odd sudden french, the way she spoke was as if that was her native language, the words flowing out like water. "Out" He mumbled, turning on his heel and turning her around, "She needs to get out of the TARDIS" he grunted as he helped her take two steps out of the TARDIS. The sun shined on them as they passed through The Doctor's blue boxed time machine, wind blowing a cool gust of relief. Noticing a nearby bench, The Doctor motioned over to it with his left hand, "We need to sit her down..let her breathe. Sometimes the TARDIS isn't exactly a calming place to be in".

Once Care was carefully sat down on the bench, The Doctor backed up and gave her some more space before motioning to the TARDIS with his head, "I'm gonna check on something. Maybe get you some water, sound good?" he asked rhetorically. Turning around, The Doctor's facial expression immediately changed to that of complete seriousness, his eyebrows arched down and the look of concentration shot across his face. Something isn't right... He thought as he squeezed through the doors, making his way to the controls and peering into the scanner once he sauntered around the panel. His eyes pulled over to the doors, locked and fixed in thought as he stared at the double doors and the woman who sat outside them a few feet away.

Something made The Doctor feel uneasy, like butterflies fluttering in his stomach, an uncertainty lurking in the shadows of his mind. What's being hidden? What don't i know? Maybe she's more than a psychic? No...can't be, i would have felt it He thought as his eyes squinted before, giving in to the pressure and, blinking. Exhaling, The Doctor stood up straight, resting his hands nonchalantly into his pockets, "I should go and get her water...." he mumbled to himself, "Yeah...water" he sniffed as he turned on his heel and proceeded down the spiral staircase.

The Doctor Is In - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Doctor Is In   The Doctor Is In - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeSat Jul 01, 2017 1:38 am

Care shook her head when Charity talked about cybermite in her ears. She used to the pain of using her abilities. This was not the average pain, but she had migraines one or twice a year, sometimes more depending on her stress levels, the amount of magic she used and the kind of people she met. It wasn't as if the pain was new to her, she had experienced so many kinds of it. Not just migraines, broken bones, sprains, tore ligaments, extensive burned, etc.

But the big thing here was not her pain. It was this place, this Doctor. This was the big deal. But before she could say and reassure them that she was fine, the Doctor had them drag them out again. And as soon as she was out, part the pressure building in her whole body, the feeling of standing on an electrical floor, was gone.

But the words the doctor said were spinning around her, repeating themselves again and again in her head. What would be the odd of learning of the Doctor and his Tardis, of feeling his presence, the same this man was exuding, when she prayed and carried the prayers of her whole continent alongside those she had trained to do such a thing. That guy, transformed by all their hopes, bu their faites back then. She cool feel the simiraties now. It was there. And the TARDIS too, She had never seen it before, but Martha's story all spoke of this thing and her description were so precise, so perfect.

So why did she had a dream like that so long ago. Why meeting the doctor now, when in the dream, she only ever heard of him or felt him slightly when folding the plans of the Master. She wasn't truly there, not in the then end. Not when the dream was slowly fading away. But she was there, if not in spirit, but with her heart. She could feel the feeling, feel so much of the energy converting at the same thing.

And the doctors and Martha, to all of them, they were their hopes dreams, the one thing that kept them alive more than food or water. They gave us the force to believe, to remain those we were back before the war.

She let herself be hidden to sit, protecting once more that she was fine, that she could deal with all of that alone. Somme medications and rest and she'd be back on her feet a day or so after. They didn't need to bother for her health. She knew how to let a headache run it's course, take medicine when they would stay in you, and live out through the worse of the symptoms.

And the word TARDIS couldn't keep spinning in her ears, one Mathta, the the doctor's voices it, then Martha again, then the Master... and so on. And the too bright luminosity outside that hurt her eyes and bring serving daggers into her brain.

She she shuts her eyes, and rested her head on her knees, trying to calm her breathing, trying to calm the irrational panic and fear that place and situation made her experience. She would be fine, everything will be. But Goddesses, she so didn't want the apocalypse to happen. Can't be right. Isn't she too old to be the Care to experience the war, the camps, the dead and so on?

And then Care forced her mind to keep track of her surroundings. Charity was really looking to concern for something as benign as a migraine. She had to do something to reassure her. She reached with her left hand, the one from the heart, to gently grab Char's hand and squeeze it. Sending a bit of reassurance, of friendship toward her. It was a nice trick she had to discover mostly on her own. That with a touch, she call express herself in empathy. That she could reassure people with a simple touch and willingness.

"I'll be fine in the morning I promise. As long as I take a few pills and sleep well. Don't worry about me, I have episodes like that at least twice a year. They say it's probably stress and hormones. There is nothing wrong with me. I will rest and be as good as new after a few restful days."

But right now, she needed to try to clear her mind, to lessen the pain. So she made a great effort to bring her satchel to her and rummage through them with irritating letter and pain from the sun. She finally grabbed a bottle of Advil extra strength liquid and took 3 out of the bottle. Close it with difficulties, but she wouldn't let herself be treated as some sick invalid. After retrieving the pills, she took another bottle and with effort, she opened it as well. Took out 3 big red pills from the Extra-strength Tylenol bottle.

Then she looked around, she had forgotten a bit of where they all were. A migraine seemed to be progression a bit quickly. She had to stay focus. But wit the water not returned back, and more importantly the doctor she needed to ask THE Question....

Focus Care, Focus. Take the pills slowly, you know you can do it even without water. She took deep breat and then she started, one by one, to gulp the pills. A bit hard, without water when you are very tursthy, but she was doing fine.

Charity didn't really know what was going on. She was just doing what the Doctor said, and trying to be as much help as possible. So, when he said to get Care out of there, she gave him a confused look but did as he said. She put her arm around Care and helped her to get out of the zero room, which she thought was a little bit strange, and out of the Tardis. She wondered if she had done wrong by bringing her into the Tardis to begin with, and if it would have been better to just go in and get the Doctor.

After getting Care sat on the bench, she nodded in reply to the Doctor saying he was going to get some water. She sat down next to Care, doing her best to be comforting. She said that it happened all the time, but Charity couldn't help being concerned anyway.
"It's alright, the Doctor's getting you some water. You'll be alright." She smiled, trying her best to be reassuring. She stayed quiet while Care ate something that looked like candy? She was a little bit confused but kept quiet, having nothing of that sort, where she's from. When the Doctor did return, she looked at him with her eyes filled with concern. "What's going on, Doctor?" She asked in a whisper.

Exiting the TARDIS, The Doctor approached the duo once more as he held the water in his hand. The water was contained inside of a thin plastic circular layer, allowing the water to freely flow around and form around the palm of The Doctor's hand. "The layer on the outside is edible, got the recipe from Palushi's world..helps keep my TARDIS clean, no trash laying everywhere" The Doctor commented as he set it down next to Care then turned his attention to Charity, returning the look of concern and locking eyes as he passed by her. "I don't know" The Doctor whispered back to Charity, "Something's not right..i can feel it. Something is being hidden and i don't like it..the TARDIS seemed to be showing some odd readings as well.".

Pausing for a moment, The Doctor glanced back to Care, giving her a slight smile before returning his attention to Charity, "She doesn't seem to want our help. So it's best to be careful..at least until we know everything. I can just tell there's something wrong but i can't put my finger on it..". Rubbing the back of his head, The Doctor began to ponder deeply on the current situation and the possible routes to clarification they could take.

Care followed the Doctor's every movement as he exited the TARDIS. Because there couldn't be much doubt about who he was and all. She almost missed what they said, so intent she was at trying to figure out what to do next.

Her head was killing her, but she had to admit, even if she hated being a hindrance to anyone... that she might have been a bit rude to them in refusing their help. And the Advil wouldn't be much help at the point she was now. But would she want them so see her sick and thrashing in pain all night? She wouldn't ask that to strangers...

Her mind was going everywhere again. It always happened when she was in so much pain. She had problems to keep track of her thought, all she wanted was to lie down somewhere and forget about the world for 24hrs, but she couldn't. She had to know. It kept nagging at her, kept hurting her from the inside. The fear, the nightmare.

"I'm sorry..." She had her eyes closed now because even the light was excruciating. "It's not that I don't want your help. I... You just don't have to. It's a migraine, I know them, they are very painful, but I'm used to... deal with them." Speaking was hurting a bit more, every sound was harder on her, but it was not as bad as it could be. The painkillers were still helping a bit.

"And, well, without your help, I would never have been able to save all those peoples. I don't want to ask more of you. But..."

Should she ask him now? She couldn't not know. It might be her only chance. But it was just recurrent nightmares... and yet. Now that he was here, in front of her. He radiated the same feeling she had in her dream when she prayed for Him. She had to know, no matter how much pain she was in, how confused her mind would become soon enough. She couldn't let that pass.

"I... Are you real ?"

God, the pain was killing her. The fear, the excitement she was feeling, it was making it all worse. But she had to know, even if she felt like her heart was going to blow out of her chest, and her mind was going to explode out of fear. She was eager to know, she wanted it to be true as much as she was fearing it to be so.

"Or am I having yet again a nightmare, some sort of hallucination induce by my headaches ?"

And she had to ask more, to ask the right questions, and those weren't. She had to be courageous, and stop turning around the subject.

"And... does the name Martha... ring any bells to you, Sir ?"

Charity was relieved when the Doctor came back out, and couldn't help looking at the odd water container curiously. That was very interesting. She wondered how he managed that. She thought that was really cool. She'd love to see what other sort of unique and technologically advanced things there might be in the Tardis, but she doubted that she'd ever have enough lifespan to explore the entire thing. And she'd probably get lost, anyway.

Exchanging concerned looks with the Doctor, she listened to what he had to say, and nodded. One didn't have to be a doctor or even have medical knowledge to figure out that there was something wrong here, and she didn't like the idea that Care insisted that she was fine, that she'd had migraines like this since she was a child.  That could indicate there was something seriously wrong, perhaps. She wondered if they ought to take her to somewhere with superior medical advancements, since this planet didn't seem to be as far along as Astronia was in that area. Of course, she didn't really know, being so unfamiliar with the planet, but that was the impression that she got, anyway.

She gently put an arm around Care's shoulders, trying to be comforting to her.
"It's ok to let someone help you." She told her. "I mean think of this.. what if all those people that you've helped had refused to accept? How would you feel if you tried to help someone and they didn't want to let you?" She pointed out quietly. "We want to help you, Care. We're worried.. and.. aren't we friends? You can trust us." She assured her with a friendly smile. "Please, we're just worried about you." She stayed quiet when Care asked the Doctor if he was real and if he knew a person named Martha. She had no idea who that might be so surely it must be directed toward him.

The Doctor walked over to Care as she spoke, squatting down in front of her as he pondered her questions, the last one hitting him the hardest. Releasing a smirk, he chuckled slightly, "I hope i'm real. Otherwise we'd all be in big trouble...but yes. Yes i do, she's a good friend of mine and i miss her very much". Quickly he became worried, what does Martha have to do with all of this? Is she okay? Is there something i should know about? he thought before speaking, "Care..how do you know that name? What did she say to you?".

While he awaited Care's response, The Doctor thought about the last time he saw Martha; her and Mickey fighting off a Sontaron. He tried not to think about the circumstances of that day, the day he regenerated and the day this new life began, it was still a painful memory. All the goodbyes he had to make that day, how his life changed when he woke up in the TARDIS after regenerating and the reason why so many previous incarnations of him were traveling the universe out of their time lines. Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind, The Doctor concentrated on the task at hand and the mystery surrounding Care. Why had Care asked about Martha? Is it the same Martha Jones that traveled with him? Or a different Martha? Why was Care apprehensive to speak to him?

PostSubject: Re: The Doctor Is In   The Doctor Is In - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeThu Jul 06, 2017 10:57 pm

Friends, it was a word most people used commonly, without thinking, without many implications as well. But for Care, it was a powerful word. Friends meant you were ready to put your life on the line for them. That you would go out of your way for them, and that you would never take the easy path with them.

But it was alright, perhaps. It was harder to think. The pain was not easy to keep away, to forget. Not with so many visions of past friends in her head, not with the images of her nightmare threatening to come hunting her back. It was so very hard to think.

And the Doctor was asking legitimate questions, but Care wasn't sure anymore she really wanted to answer them. Not now, she didn't want to see the images of the nightmare, the deaths, the concentration camps, the tolcapone, the horrors. Just.. thinking, made it harder. But the Doctor wasn't a bad guy, he was a savior. She knew that deep down inside, but right now, she just didn't want to deal with all of this. She just couldn't be strong anymore. It was too hard, too painfull in so many ways.

"I... it was in a dream. I have them... weird ones. Sometimes visions of future, sometimes... they are symbols, other time... just ordinary. I'm sorry... I can't concentrate much now."

She opened her eyes a moment to look at the doctor. The pain was visible on her face, of course, but there was also an apology... and a bit of fear she couldn't hide. She didn't want to face all of this now.

Then she realises he was still holding the water he brought for her and she shakily took it from him.

"Thank you, both of you. For your kindness. I, if you don't mind, I could use a place to lie down for a bit."

She drank a very small sip. She didn't want to get sick, she hated that, and more so that there would be people to witness it. All she wanted now would be to lie down.

"I... might want to know why my headache... made you so upset if you don't mind... I don't feel in any danger... it's a bit more painful then usual, but I've had as worse migraine as this one."

Charity kept quiet as she let the Doctor ask the questions, and let Care do the talking. She really had nothing to say, and felt that the only thing she could really offer right now was comfort in just being there. She had no idea who Martha was, but the Doctor apparently did, so she was right in guessing that the question was directed at him. She kept her arm around Care's shoulders, intending to be comforting. She had learned a lot about that from her mother, and although she was sure that her mom was far better at it than she is, she did the best she could.

The Doctor looked into the eyes of Care as she replied to him, pondering her answers deeply and nodding her head as she mentioned getting sleep. "Well i can try to fly as softly as i can if you wanted to come with us?" He asked her, glancing around the nearby streets and buildings, "Not sure if the TARDIS or out here would be better. It's up to you, we've got all the time in the universe". Patting Care on the knee, The Doctor rose from his squatted position and offered his hand down to her, "Allons-y? I've got a nice bed you can use. Got nice pillows, plush and filled with microfibers from the planet Zorillium and memory foam texture to support your body, best in the universe..well...best on Gallifrey anyways. Hasn't been used in a long time, us time travelers don't sleep too much".

Internally The Doctor pondered her final question and the information she shared about Martha, he wondered why if Martha needed his help why she would simply call him. This peaked The Doctor's interest and kept him captivated by the woman in front of him sitting down on the bench. Maybe there was more than meets the eye with her.
