7:03 AM
It's a cold morning on the streets of Edinburgh, the usual kind of frosty bonechilling air that tends to limit the people on the street to just the general populace. Down on the city square there was a small number of people milling about, especially around the pop-up coffee stand, and while most of them seemed to be in a rush to get out of the cold there are a few just enjoying the bracing wind. By far the most conspicious of these was an apparent Edwardian Gentleman sitting drinking his tea. Every once in a while he would flip open his watch and study the time before mumbling something about rifts and sipping his tea.. The quiet continued to settle

7:14 AM
*RIP*
Suddenly, high above the city, a massive tear in the sky appeared arcing across the sky glowing red, purples and blues. The people in the city bellow stopped in their tracks, thoughts of the cold fading from their minds. The noise that had accompanied it's arrival had cut through the chatter of the city like hot water through the snow, but it had just as quickly turned to silence as the people bellow watched the pretty light show in awe... Until the screeching began

7:15 AM
The creature dropped through the rift and plummeted to the earth, like a fallen angel. All leathery wings and teeth it headed straight down and crashed into Edinburgh Castle upon the hill. The people in the square suddenly struck up in chatter, wondering to each other what they had just witnessed. The Edwardian Adventure had just watched the whole event with a slight wry smile, and his pocket watch still sitting open upon his palm. With a quick look at the watch he snapped it shut and stood, confidently he strode over to the coffee cart, drinking in the sounds of speculation and chatter, the word pterodactyl dropping more than once. Arriving at the back of the group, the man said, to no one in particular, "Excuse me, but can anyone tell me the name of that castle upon the hill?"

Koitya had been out job hunting again, trying to make the best of the 6 days she had left. Of course, though, it seemed trouble had found Earth again. She knew that people traveling with the Doctor were prone to trouble but this was a bit ridiculous. Just another reason to ditch this body, she supposed. Eying the rip in the sky, she jumped as the winged creature flew out, reminding her that there was a slight advantage to this particular human host. Then again, the Doctor was already out for her blood after this one, she didn't need to make it that much worse. She crossed the chaotic street, spotting a rather odd looking man that she might need to talk to. From the rumors, the Doctor was usually the only odd dressed, calm bloke on the scene, so this must have been him, right? Not the same Doctor as the one she made the deal with so it'd be alright to talk to him... right? Eh, time travelers, always so confusing.

Looking up at the odd one, sporting the bruises on her face with pride, Koitya crossed her arms and nearly laughed at his question. Oh, definitely the Doctor. No one was that stupid. 'Well you are in Edinburgh, why don't you take a guess? Edinburgh Castle. Might I ask who you are?' She raised an eyebrow, hoping to have caught his attention. If one thing was for sure, things like this were much more fun than 'jobs'.

A voice from the back of the group piped up, singling out the castle above as Edinburgh Castle. The Doctor turned to face his new fount of information and found a smallish looking young lady, with pale skin and purple eyes. Definitely not just your regular human.

"Oh so this is Edinburgh." The Doctor said finally understanding his surrounds, "Of course, that would explain the taste, the air is not quite right you see. I thought it was the displacement causing it, but I guess William's engines must still be powering the city." The Doctor smiled warmly at his new friend and lent in closer, speaking a bit softer (but not so much that those nearby couldn't hear) he asked, "I don't suppose you know a fast way up there do you?"

Raising an eyebrow, Koitya took a step back as he got closer. Alright, well there was something. He was definitely more friendly than the Doctor she had met. Then again, she did sort of kidnap his companion.... 'Well, I do, but a certain someone'll have my head if I do it. Just a question - are you the Doctor? Just thought I'd ask before I go reminding you that you have a TARDIS,' She laughed, starting to warm up to this man a bit more than she thought she would. What happened between this incarnation and the other to make him so hostile? Obviously he couldn't be a future version here, otherwise he'd have known who she was - no, this must be an older one. Then again, it could just be some random person who wasn't the Doctor at all, in which case, she was sure to sound like a loon.

Gira had been wandering around the streets of Edinburgh for hours now, She could not think of anything better at the time. She had done everything there was to do in the hotel room, and she was not hungry but now hunger had began to set in a little. Alex had brought her with him on one of is buisness trips. He didn't want to leave in the house by her self, She was a grown woman! She could take care of herself! But Alex insisted. She had spent those hours thinking of the motorcycle she still had yet to repair back home. It seemed to be the only thing on her mind. She had just arrived at an old Edinburgh castle when she decided to call Alex for a ride home. Her legs were tired, she had done nothing but walking for the last several hours.
(I hope this will be good)

The Doctor was starting to get a bit put out by everyone who seemed to know who he was, was it his clothes? 'Probably the clothes', he thought to himself. "Yes I'm The Doctor, but I didn't catch your name" he said with a smile. "If you can't show me then if you could just point me in the right direction"

••••••••

The northern tower of the castle is where the creature had fallen. It had been unconscious on the drop but it hadn't remained that way for long. The thing had pushed it self up on it's winged arms and short stubbly legs, scanning the area and sniffing the air for something. The purple and orange stripes across it's body glistened in the light of the tear through the hole the fall had left. The thing continued to sniff for a few more seconds, and then it launched itself through the wall and into the castle proper.

Koitya nearly caught herself giggling at the man. Why was she giggling? It was this cursed host, wasn't it? Bloody thing. Shaking her head, she crossed her arms and looked up at him with a smirk. 'I'm not from around here either, in case you haven't noticed. You know, most people point out the purple eyes first thing when they see me. Then again, you are the Doctor...' She trailed off, eyes staring down at the floor before she was looking back up at him. 'Anyway - sorry, this one's a bit defective, just blurts out whatever's on her mind sometimes. Odd one, isn't she? Still, no idea where the castle is, just that I'm supposed to be there.' That reminded her of the job she had heard of here, something about an alien that needed capturing. Just her luck, it'd end up being him or something. Didn't mean there was no reason to check it out.

The Blood had retreated from London up to Edinburgh and she sighed sadly. She was looking down and soon she noticed some people... one was The Doctor, she knew that for definite. She smiled happily and raced over, "Hey Doctor!" She said happily, not meaning to seem ignorant to the purple-eyed girl that was already there, "It's nice to see you again!" She said happily to The Doctor, her fangs showing because of her happy grin; her face was shaded with her hood - all because she was wanting to stop the sun from reaching her skin - her hands were also in her pockets.

Ebony had been walking past the castle on her way to and from work for a couple years now but she had never thought to explore it. Well, today was that day! she had a friend who worked as the manager of the tour guide department who said she could get her vip access to the castle. She was thrilled. She had been wandering the corridors of the castle near the north tower when there was a loud crash. stones were falling all around her. She let out a scream as the exit was blocked. and ran to the far corner of the room. she curled up in a ball and waited for the last of the stones to hit the ground.

Gira was exausted from wandering all night, but a rush of adreniline pumped into her system the moment she heard a scream in the distance. She looked immediately in the scream's direction. Gira hesitated, but she shook her head violently and proceeded to find who made the scream. She ran as fast as she could muster with her fatiuge. She accidently plowed through a couple crowds of tourists on her way.

Gira then regained her orientation and moved in a strait path. She accidently bushed by someone, A woman, she appeared blue-ish hair and purple eyes, she was not quite sure, she only caught a glimpse of her fully for a second when turned around rapidly and called out "Sorry!" and just as quickly turned around and continued to run.

'I'm not from around here either, in case you haven't noticed. You know, most people point out the purple eyes first thing when they see me. Then again, you are the Doctor...'

"And I am not most people," he said with a smile. The purple eyed lady continued, avoiding the whole name thing, she seemed to be some sort of possession entity, judging by her terms, which was less than good. But she seemed less than helpful. The Doctor was just about to ask another stranger when a voice behind him caused him to turn.

"Why hello Shauna, how lovely to see you here," The Doctor said with a smile, "I don't suppose you know the way too..." The Doctor was cut short as a people began to run down the hill, screaming and yelling about a beast in the castle.

"Well," The Doctor said to both his new compadres, "when in doubt, just follow the people. Come on!" And with that The Doctor bounded off against the tide of people and up the hill towards, what he hoped would be, the castle.

•••••••

The creature came careening through the wall, sending stone and dusty old mortar flying as it went. The thing lifted itself up on it 's large and terrible wings as it circled the main area of the castle, and every once in a while it would dive down to the direct centre of the floor, crashing it's beak and talons into the stones. On the surface it appears a futile gesture, but if one looks closely, they can see the stones beginning to give way.

[Just to briefly remind everyone where everyone else currently is, The Doctor, Robin(Possessed) and The Blood are in Edinburgh square while Gia and Ebony are in the castle, we will hopefully all be in the castle soon.]

Koitya shook her head, a grin finding its way to her lips as she dashed off after the Doctor. She could see why the girl had stuck around one so long - this was rather entertaining. Still, it wasn't going to get her the money or respect she'd need to accomplish her goals. Maybe she should just take off and leave the Doctor and the other woman to it? No, this was something she was going to have to try before her next host, so she was doing it now. Curious, how they were all seeming to enjoy the danger and death. And people called her dark, ha! Might as well attempt being the good guy for once - not like she'd be able to do it again.

Shauna smiled happily, her fangs in view. She then turned her attention to the man running down and shouting about a creature in the castle. She grinned at The Doctor and dashed off with him, her inhuman speed making her a little further ahead than the purple-eyed girl and The Doctor. She could hear and see the creature and watched as it came through the wall and sent stone and dusty old mortar everywhere, her eyes widened as a piece of stone nearly hit her, she stepped to the side and the stone went flying past her, only a few centimeters away from hurting her. "It's a big thing, isn't it?" She looked to The Doctor.

As the stones stopped falling around her Ebony peeked out from under her arm. The doorway was completely sealed off. She was trapped. She stood up slowly, coughing from the dust in the air. She tried to stay calm. She walked around the room slowly, cringing against the wall as rocks fell occasionally around her. It seemed that her only option was a small wooden door at the far side of the room. There was a rope across it that had a sign attached. It read 'authorized personnel only'.

"I really don't think they will mind." she muttered to herself as she opened the door. She looked in to see a winding staircase going up. She took a deep breath and carefully started her way up the staircase.

Not too far up was a small slit of a window. She had to be fairly high up. Maybe she could see what was going on. She peeked out the slit to see people running screaming from the castle. She took a deep breath. If she could just get to the top of the tower maybe someone could see her and get her down. She was about to keep climbing when she heard a deep groan, like something you would expect from a large animal. She angled her eyes and screamed when she saw what had made the noise.

A huge striped creature with leathery wings and claws was laying unconscious on the roof only a few yards from the tower she was in. She had never seen anything like it in her life! She quickly put her hand over her mouth to stop the scream, but it was too late. The creature opened its eyes and let out a blood curdling scream that had her cowering against the wall, hands over her ears.

The creature stood up and Ebony felt the building shake. Stones were falling all around her. She had to get help. With tears streaming down her face she ran up the staircase.

The Doctor bounded up to the castle gates, he began to Shepard the last few people out of the danger zone. "Everybody head back down to the Square, just keep moving!" He said, ducking a few falling stones as he did. With the people safe The Doctor headed into the castle, moving through entrance area he took cover up behind an overturned table and motioned for his two followers to join him.

Shauna made a wise crack and The Doctor gave her a toothy grin,"why yes Shauna it is, but what is it." Sensing that the stones had stopped falling, The Doctor took his chance to peek over. He could finally make out the basics of this thing. With a large elongated fleshy beak, giant talons attached to thinish legs coming from the underside of it's body alongside the placer where it's massive rubbery looking wings connected to it's body. "We'll aren't you just a beauty," The Doctor said as he admired the creature. "So what do we think it is? "He whispered to Shauna and the purple eyed girl, "and how are we going to stop it?"

Gira had finally made her way into the corridor from where the screaming had come from. The whole wing was in ruins, the old stones that held up the ancient castle had toppled to the floor below. The dust was still settling. She soon caught view of what seemed to be a large winged beast. It was vary avian like with its beak but at the same time, the leathery bat like wings conflicted with the idea of it being a bird. Her eyes widened in fear. She was about to scream but she quickly clasped her hands over her mouth and silenced any sound that would emerge from her mouth. Her eyes trailed down to the group standing before it. She reconiezed the blue haired girl from before, but she could not recall the curly haired man who was the closest to the beast.

Shauna took cover behind the overturned table next to The Doctor and she smiled at him slightly when he had noticed her wise crack. She looked out to see the creature, she grinned, "It's so pretty..." She said before standing up from behind the table and slowly walking towards it; she knew if it was going to attack she could easily run away and hide once more, but for the time being she was amazed at the creature's looks and she continued to approach the beautiful creature.

Shauna moved towards the creature, which seemed to largely ignore her, it was still focused on smashing the ground and breaking through the stone. The Doctor rose and followed the young Vampire, speaking loudly and beginning to explain.

"Most certainly a pretty creature, and on the best of occasions quite a passive one, but what we see here is more than just some sort of lost dinosaur, this is a Vortisaur. A creature that lives in the Time Vortex and feeds on Time Energy." The Doctor pointed through the hole in the roof, "that crack is a rift in the space time vortex, it allowed the Vortisaur entry, but it wasn't created by it. No, something here has broken the barriers, something most likely underneath us right now, judging by our new friends attempts to break through, and something we are going to fix fast."

The Vortisaur slammed down once more, causing a atone to fall from above and almost crash into The Doctor and his friends, The Doctor grabbed Shauna and pulled her back out of the way with him. The stone hit the ground with a large crash and a dent, shooting up dust into the eyes of the surrounding humanoids. The Doctor coughed and spluttered to try and clear his air before a sound cut through the confusion, a massive cry and wave of noise that seemed to come from the sky above. But once the dust cleared only the rip could be seen. The Doctor stared grimly before addressing the issue, "that's the thing about Vortisaurs, they don't tend to fly alone"

((Right, forgot about this one >.>))

Koitya nodded, listening to the Doctor as he went on about Vortisaurs. She'd always heard of them but she never thought they actually existed. Well this was better proof than any. She had just managed to look up as the stone was sent flying down towards them, causing her to scramble out of the way just in time and duck her head under her arms. Still then, a good amount of dust had reached her face, the particles in her nose making her sneeze. Well wasn't that pleasant. The cries came as a surprise and she jumped, quickly moving back towards the Doctor and... Oh, she was bloody terrible with names. The Time Lord's explanation of the noise wasn't exactly helpful or cheerful. 'They what?! Doctor, you better have some plan to try and stop this because if this body gets hurt, you'll have your own head!' She glared up at the sky, proper fear striking her heart for the first time in ages. Oh, so that was why they liked the danger. For the adrenaline. But was all this really worth it? Just go on a bloody roller coaster!

Shauna watched the creature while listening to The Doctor, "Ah so it feeds on Time Energy huh?" She tilted her head slightly, she heard a loud crash and her eyes widened as a large stone came down towards her, she felt someone grab her and pull her away, she looked to see it was The Doctor and she smiled, "Thanks Doctor." She said with a happy, relieved smile. She heard loud cries and she looked up to see more cracks and her eyes widened, "Oh come on! Really? There is more of them!" She stayed close to The Doctor and she instinctively held his hand, like a small child would when feeling scared.

Ebony reached the top of the tower just in time to wish she hadn't. Instead of being greeted with a welcoming open sky, there was a large crack pulsing with colorful lights. In any other circumstance she would have stopped and just stared, enjoying its beauty. It really was beautiful. But a blood curdling group of screams reached her as more creatures fell from the crack in the sky, landing on the ruined castle. Ebony fell to the ground as one of the creatures perched right in front of her. She staggered backwards and fell over the broken side of the tower wall. She was able to grab the side, feet dangling over the ridged ground below, and the creature hovering over her.
