| ((Closed to me and Sonya))
Robin crossed her arms, strolling down the sidewalk slowly. Sonya had dropped her off here, didn't say why. Just that there was something here she needed to see. Casting a look down at herself, she smiled a little, thankful that Sonya let her use the wardrobe so she wouldn't have to wander about in a bloodstained uniform. That single thought wiped the smile off her face, reminding her of the incident. She never wanted to think about that again. One hand reached up from its crossed position to touch the collar around her neck, then to brush against the mark on her cheek. She didn't care, she was used to it by now. She was thankful for it - it was a symbol of how Sonya had saved her from... No. Not thinking about that. The only thing she didn't like we're the stares she was getting. Some laughed, some looked worried. She just wanted to tell them to leave her be, but that would get even more attention that she didn't want.
Giving up on her search for whatever Sonya had sent her here for, she sighed and leaned against the wall of a bakery, looking out at the road ahead of her. Her hand came up to move over the Gallifreyan brand once more, tracing the circles and lines. She began to worry Sonya just got rid of her. Would she really just leave her? After everything she did for her? Her face formed into a small frown, her hand falling away. No. She couldn't have.

| "I'm telling you, that butter isn't real!" The Doctor protested as he was shoved out of the bakery door by the owner who had a rather irritated look on his face as he shoved against the leather-clad Doctor to get him outside. "And I told you to get out! Now beat it!" He warned before slamming the door of the bakery in the Doctor's incredulous face. "Try to help people and end up being shoved out onto the street." He mumbled, a hand smoothing his jacket idly before spotting Robin nearby, a bright smile crossing his features before noticing the collar and brand. His smile melting away instantly, he walked over to her and stared intently down at the girl's face, waiting for the younger girl to look up at him. | |

| Robin's eyes widened at the familiar sound of the voice. No... He wasn't there. He couldn't be. She was not going to deal with him again. Sonya wasn't here to save her this time, so she was all on her own. Looking over to where she heard the voice, she realized he was towering over her now. She tilted her head up to look him in the eyes, her own narrowing at the sight of him. No! He wasn't here! Well she wasn't about to let him do anything. Before she knew what she was doing, she threw a punch at the Doctor's stomach, her gaze never breaking his. "What do you want?" She growled, taking a step back before he could retaliate. | |

| Doubling over in surprise, Robin didn't get a chance to see the surprise coloring the Doctor's face at her sudden attack. "Blimey, someone your size packs a punch." He huffed out finally, straightening up with a hand rubbing at the spot she hit, watching her wairly. He was used to being yelled at, lectured or even slapped. But never in any of his regnerations had he been punched by an ex companion. "Care to explain exactly why you felt the need to punch me in the stomach?" He finally asked curiously, a faint twitch at the corners of his mouth barely held back from force of habit while he talked. | |

| Robin rolled her eyes, "Like you don't know what you did to me. I.. Why would you do something like that?" She tried her hardest to keep from punching him again, feeling that if she just randomly started beating him up that she'd get some unwanted attention. "How can you even pretend not to remember?" She hissed, crossing her arms to keep from hurting him. Yet. How could he pretend, though? How could he put it out if his mind so easily? How could he ignore it?! | |

| "I don't know what you mean, Robin." The Doctor said slowly, obviously thinking if he spoke each word carefully she would understand better as he gave her the signature 'you dribbled on your shirt' stare he was known for. "I haven't done anything, not that I know of. Unless there's another ninth incarnation running around." He paused at the thought, slightly interested at the fact of meeting himself. It would be like having an exact twin, fantastic really... Oh right, Robin.
Leaning down so he was eye level with her, he stared in her eyes for a moment, catching a slight glimpse of something not right flickering in them before coming to a decision himself. "Sorry for this." He apologized in advance before reaching out and gripping her head tightly, using a quick psychic connection to send Robin into a deep enough sleep to where he could cart her off to the TARDIS for tests. Carefully picking the young girl up, he hurried off, ignoring the scandalized looks and phones that whipped out as soon as they saw an odd-looking man in a leather jacket run past carrying a clearly underage girl in his arms. Blimey he'd never be able to come back to this time again after this.

| Robin's eyes widened as he reached out for her head, perfectly aware of what he could do. "Nonononono!" She tried to back up and get him off before he could do anything, but it was too late. Her eyes flickered shut and her body went limp as she passed out, unable to fight him. Unable to get him to put her down and leave her alone.
Robin screamed, convulsing in pain as the Doctor shocked her with the cattle prod. "No, P-Please!" Her screams continued as Mal started with the scalpel. Why? Why were they doing this?! Why?! WHY?!
Awaking with a gasp, Robin bolted up from her position... Where ever she was. Her eyes darted around, her mind still stuck in a state of confusion from the dream. "H-Hello? Where am I?"

| "You are in the TARDIS med bay, don't move around, your head might hurt a bit." The Doctor said quietly in a chair across the room from her, his chin resting in his hand and elbows resting on his knees as he stared at her intently, as if trying to figure out a puzzle he wasn't sure how to solve. "Who have you been around, Robin? You seem to have that bit of your memory blocked out. I can't get around it." He finally asked, his usual cheerful tone taking a more somber one as he leaned back in the chair, running a hand over his short hair in agitation. He had taken off his jacket in order to have freer movement of his limbs and tossed it over the back of the chair he sat in now.
Standing back on his feet, he began pacing around from one side of the room to the next, keeping a careful distance from the young girl as he did, his eyes refusing to look up at her again while he spoke. "Memories... Are fragile things. You humans never could seem to realize that and treated them like toys, practicing meditation and hypnotists causing people to think they're chickens in your time. But you don't realize, if a memory is tampered with... It can cause problems, repercussions on the person them self." He said slowly, finally stopping in his mad walk to stop and lean against the counter behind him, his blue eyes locking onto Robin's, for once not dancing around in amusement or excitement, but lacking any cheer at all as he stared at her seriously.
"I want to know who did this to you so I can pay them a visit. That's all, a quick visit, a quick warning. Then leave. I swear." The Doctor said suddenly, anger flashing through him at the thought of anyone hurting this girl. She was hardly out of being a child, and they did this, they tortured her then somehow altered her memory to think it was her close friends! As if he would ever do anything to her. He nicks himself shaving and ends up blaming himself instead of the dull razor... Not the best metaphor, but better than the one he originally thought of with a banana...
Closing his eyes for a moment, he took a deep breath to calm himself down and opened them back up to stare at her once more. The only people he could think that would have the power or for that matter imagination to alter a memory to such an extent were only two others beside himself, one was dead, the other... He refused to believe the stories that were muttered about her. She may have gone a bit mad, but killing her husband? Dealing in human trade with the Absorbalofts? Then doing something like this to Robin? Never, he had seen the look in Sonya's eyes when she watched or talked to Robin, she loved her like a sister would. Never in any of his lives would he believe for a second she would do such a thing, there had to be someone else he missed.

| Robin tried her hardest to process all the information coming to her. TARDIS. Med bay. Okay, easy enough. Now what did he just say about memory? Had someone messed with her's? But she hadn't been around anyone... Except Sonya... She fidgeted under the Doctor's gaze, feeling more fear than anger towards him right now. "W-What do you mean? Someone ch-changed my memories?" She dreaded to think it might be Sonya... But it couldn't be! "I-I've only been near Sonya and Mal... But it can't be Sonya because she was the one who saved me! She got me out of there! So... Mal did it...?" She believed that one - Mal could change people's minds, who said she couldn't mess with her head? | |

| Feeling a lance of pain through his chest, the Doctor jolted himself away from the counter. How could Sonya do this? Why would she even think of doing this to the girl? She had gone through the same thing herself with UNIT! For the first time in a long while, he felt honest anger, true and honest anger towards a friend. "Robin, it wasn't Mal, she's been taking care of herself now. You know she's been through a lot." He said quietly, turning to look at the young girl with a sigh, a hand running over his short hair once more in agitation. "I haven't seen you in ages on top of all that." | |

| Robin shook her head, not willing to believe it. "N-No, there's no way. Mal had to have done it, because Sonya saved me! She saved my life!" She felt anger building inside of her, anger towards Mal and towards the Doctor. "Are you even telling the truth? What if this is all a lie, huh?! What if it's just to make me forgive you and turn on Sonya?! Well I'm not going to! Not ever! Sonya has been nice to me, unlike you have! You're sitting here lying to my face!" She spat, standing up and rushing towards him. "I'll not have you messing with my head, Doctor!" Growling in anger, she aimed a punch at his jaw, not planning on holding back anymore. This wasn't in public, she wouldn't get stares. "You're a sorry excuse for a friend, I'll tell you that!" Her foot came up to kick him in the stomach, face arranged into a scowl. | |

| Blinking in surprise at her sudden attack, the Doctor quickly dodged her fist and foot narrowly before coming up behind her and wrapping the poor girl in a bear hug to hold her immobile. "Robin, I am telling you the truth! Who put that collar on you? Who put that brand on your face?" He shouted in her ear, trying to get through to the sweet young girl he knew the last time they met. "Who kidnapped you so they could do this? Sonya! And you know it's the truth because you have her name burned into your skin." He added in a much calmer tone, his arms tightening around her gently in a semblance of a hug.
"Robin, I would never hurt you. Blimey, I'd blame myself if you tripped." The Doctor groaned, closing his eyes and forcing back his emotion so he could stay focused on the task at hand. "I've be there when you needed me, and I'm here now. You just have to listen because I'm talking and I won't stop talking until you actually let reason get in your head again. Sonya is a TIME LORD, she knows how to do things, she knows how to alter memories... She's brilliant, Robin, it wouldn't take long for her to come up with something so you'd end up thinking like this. When have I ever hurt you beside that one memory? When can you even think that I had?"

| Robin yelped, struggling to break out of the Doctor's hold. "Let go! Let go of me!" She shook her head frantically, refusing to hear him. Sonya didn't do this. She couldn't have. There was no way! She was the one who saved her! She got her out of that mess! Why couldn't she be here to save her now?! "Exactly, Doctor. You never once hurt me, but how can I trust that it's true? You're a Time Lord, too. How hard would it be to remove any memory of you hurting me?! How can I trust you?!" She bit down on his arm, trying to get him to let go. "Her name is in my skin because she saved me. If it wasn't for her I'd be dead! This was nothing, nothing compared to what she did for me!" | |

| Wincing slightly, the Doctor shifted his arms lower to keep them out of her mouth's reach and grimly held on, distinctly glad he wasn't wearing his jacket at the time, it would have been hard to keep a hold of her while she wriggled around with leather arms. "Robin, I have never lied to you. Why would I? Your a child, children are already too easily tricked without being lied to." He replied a bit peevishly, being told he was lying was not one of his favorite things in the universe. "She branded you, caused you pain, made you attack Mal! You've been with her long enough before all of this to know that she's changed." He added sharply as she twisted sharply in his arms, nearly making him loose his grip on her.
"Robin, listen to me!" He shouted suddenly, his anger finally unable to be contained as he spun her around and gripped her arms tightly, forcing her to stare in his eyes as he glared down at her. "Would you just stop ignoring me for once in your life and actually listen! She took a bullet for you, she pulled you out of more than one scrape in your past. But now, now she's killed her husband, attacked my older version and now she's branded and collared you! Even you with that simple little mind can tell that something isn't right with her! Think, just think, that memory of me hurting you, do you actually see me doing it? Do you actually see me holding whatever it was? Or is it fuzzy and just suggestive, tell me Robin, can you actually see any of us causing you pain in that memory?" He shook her shoulders slightly, his blue eyes blazing with the anger of everything that has happened. He lost so many companions in the past, he refused to loose another one because of some bloody mind tricks an old friend played on her.

| Robin shook her head frantically, tears forming in her eyes. No! This isn't true! He has to be lying! He has to be! She stopped struggling, looking up into his eyes. Her head, it was starting to hurt. She was so confused and she had no idea what to think. Taking his words in, she trembled, wanting to ignore the memory so badly. But she couldn't take this. Thinking on her torture... She saw all of their faces... But none of them were touching her... No one was even holding a weapon... Blinking her eyes at him, her mouth fell open in shock. "N-No, but... No..." Her tears began to fall, her headache only increasing. Oh, this was all so confusing! | |

| "Robin, I would never hurt you." The Doctor said quietly, his hands still gripping her arms tight in case she tried to bolt from the room. "I don't want to hurt you. But you have to realize the bloody truth for yourself." He sighed and finally let her go, collapsing back into the chair behind him, burying his face in his hands as he felt a sudden wave of exhaustion wash over him. "I'm the Doctor, Robin. I heal people the best I can, then move on. You above all people should know that by now." He added, his voice muffled somewhat by his hands as he continued to hide his face.
After a long moment of silence, he looked up and pierced her with his blue eyes again, staring into her own as he searched her face for something, anything that might show the old Robin he once knew. "Your smart for someone your age, your clever when you want to be. Can you honestly stand there and tell me that I hurt you with every ounce of conviction in your body? Can you?"

| Robin stepped back as he let go of her, her hands moving to cover her mouth. What... What had she done? Why did this... She had no idea what to think. Everything was so confusing... But... She moaned, moving over to sit down once more. As the Doctor looked up at her, she felt guilt wash over her head. "N-No... I..." She pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and resting her forehead on her knees. Sighing heavily, she felt a tear slide down her cheek and over her brand. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought of it. "I'm sorry..." | |

| Looking over at Robin, he felt a weak smile flash across his face before standing up and crouching down in front of her, his gaze looking up into her face warmly. "Robin, never apologize for something you didn't do. If you keep apologizing for things that weren't your fault, people would think you have a guilty conscious as big as mine." He chuckled and stood back up, a hand fondly ruffling her hair before he returned to business. "Tell me everything you can remember. I'll need to have a clear picture on all of this before we do anything." His eyes drifted down to the circle of metal around her neck with a disgusted look crossing his features. "And tell me about that thing." | |

| Robin smiled weakly, her hands moving to untangle her hair the best she could. Her smile fell away when he asked her to tell him. She took a deep breath, deciding to start with the collar. "She didn't kidnap me... I sorta just walked in. I was threatened though, so I'm not sure what that makes that.... She just... Handed it to me. Told me to put it on. I knew what she was capable of and she had already threatened me once... So I just did it..." She looked up from her crossed hands, searching his eyes for a reason to stop. Closing her eyes, she sighed. "During the... Incident... It eas you. You, Mal, Theta, everyone. You just sort of stood by now that I think of it... Someone had... A c-cattle prod... And they used it on me... And then th-they dug this... S-scalpel into my pressure poins..." She took a deep breath, trying to remember anything else. "... I was drugged..." She murmured with disbelief, remembering the meth Sonys had used before they attacked... | |

| The Doctor's eyes blazed at the mention of Sonya drugging Robin, his hands clenching into fists as he listened to what the Time Lady did to the young girl and for the first time, he felt powerless. She did these things to someone close to him, and he had no idea until just now, there was no telling what else she could be doing at this moment if Robin was here and she wasn't. "What kind of drug was it, Robin? An addicting drug? Something you would start to feel cravings for?" He asked suddenly, his hands already in motion as he spoke, one finding a pulse point on her neck while the other tested her temperature carefully, his face feeling odd without his normal smile.
Shaking his head, he counted her erratic heartbeats and pulled his hand away again, leaning down to check her eyes once more, on closer inspection he realized her pupils were slightly dilated and wouldn't change back if he moved to the side and let the light shine on one of them. "Robin, are you feeling any symptoms, like sweating more than usual in cool weather?" He asked softly as he turned around to retrieve his jacket and drape it around her shoulders. Even a small amount would be addictive to someone Robin's size, one dose would be all it would take to send her into shock if she went without the drug for too long.

| Robin jerked away from the Doctor, the sudden inspection surprising her. After she knew what he was doing, she let him, but she eyed him cautiously. She frowned, wondering what was with the random check up. "Um.. I don't know, haven't been anywhere cold..." She raised an eyebrow at him, moving to put his jacket to the side and deciding it too hot for that. "I think... Um... I think she said it was like..." She closed her eyes, trying to remember the name. "Liquid meth, I think she called it. Drugged me with it twice. What do you think I'm addicted...?" Her eyes widened at the possibility, vaguely remembering her oath in grade school to never do drugs. | |

| "You are addicted, Robin." The Doctor replied in a distracted tone, already moving about the med room, searching through the drawers scattered around frantically, throwing items over his shoulders after looking at them one by one. "Liquid Meth is a very potent drug, highly potent, highly toxic in fact." He added as an afterthought, his usual active self returning little by little now that he was on even ground once more. This was territory he knew, this he could handle better. Pulling out a bottle of blue pills, he read the label before tossing them to the side as well with a shake of the head. "No.. No... No..." He muttered then straightened up, running a hand over his hair in thought before glancing over at Robin again, a familiar smile flashing across his face.
"Care to come with me? I have to pick something up that'll help. Can't promise it won't turn your skin purple for a weak though. Should clear you right up after an hour." He said brightly, walking over and pulling his jacket back on, his hands automatically going to the lapels and adjusting them so they lay perfectly. "Come on, up you get, no use sitting around like a useless lump." He coaxed her, holding out a hand for the girl to take with another grin. "I'll fix you right up, then we'll go pay Sonya a visit, or we could go someplace else. Maybe a collar emporium, I know they have an old earth mobile museum, why not a collar emporium? We could find some bells to put on yours."

| Robin's heart sank, her ears drowning out everything else in shock. You are addicted. You are addicted. You are addicted. The three simple words played on repeat and she curled into a ball one more. She had always thought you had to like a drug to get addicted... She never thought that in a million years... And by her best friend, too... Snapping out of her own thoughts, Robin looked up to see the Doctor, hand extended and as enthusiastic as ever. She'd have taken it in an instant, gone off wherever they needed to go, but she heard it. The first words from his mouth once she started listening. Collar emporium... She stared incredulously at him, wrapping her arms tighter around herself. The Doctor, of all people, should know not to joke about this. | |

| Feeling his smile slip a bit from Robin's expression, the Doctor mentally berated himself. He ought to know better than to make jokes about a desperate situation, well it's too late to take it back now. Without waiting for her to grab his hand, he snatched hers up and pulled her from the room. The only thing he could think of fixing his mistake would be to fix her problem first. Then apologize for what he had said. Once they reached the console room, he let her go and began working on the controls, a look of concentration on his face as he focused on his task intently. He had gone to a pharmaceutical planet before, but even now he wasn't even sure if he could land properly. The last time he had gone there were so many ships he barely managed to squeeze between two of them.
Casting a sideways glance over at Robin from the corner of his eyes, he grinned again, trying to reassure the young girl before pulling the lever down and causing the TARDIS to shake violently for a few moments then fall still again. "Wait here, I won't be long." He instructed her without looking and headed to the doors before turning around and looking at her once more. "I'm going to fix this, Robin. Don't you worry." The Doctor swore before pulling the door open and disappearing outside.

| Robin yelped as the Doctor took her hand and dragged her to the console room. Her feet scrambled to find the floor and follow him the rest of the way. Once they finally made it, she stumbled to a stop, frowning at the dizziness she felt. Maybe it was in her head, maybe it wasn't. Either way, she still felt dizzy. Crossing her arms into what was more like a self hug, she watched as the Doctor piloted the time machine. His grin made her smile back weakly, her mind trying to focus on how goofy the man was instead of the problem at hand. This wouldn't be so bad... Would it? She felt her smile fly away as he pulled the lever, another yelp sounding as she crashed into the floor. Okay. Bad. She had barely sat up before he was out the door, telling her to stay put. Well alright, she wasn't complaining about it. Sighing, she pulled her knees up again, resting her forehead on them and willing the dizziness to leave. | |
