| Robin crossed her arms as she strolled into the control room, her hair still wet from her shower. That was the last time she'd let him take her to that planet. No matter how fun it was, cleaning that mud off was almost impossible. What was even it that stuff? She actually didn't want to know... As long as it was off of her. Making her way to the jump seat, she grabbed her jacket and threw it on over her tank top. "Doctor!" She called out as soon as she realized he wasn't there. Maybe he was still showering? Nah, probably not. He didn't get nearly as much of that gunk on him than she did. "Of course you go and do this right after you promise I get to pick the next planet..." She mumbled, starting to circle the console. She could press a button and get his attention... Nope. Not after last time.
Sighing, she finished her lap and plopped down in the jump seat, leaning back and staring at the controls in front of her. The humming of the TARDIS was making her feel tired, that and the fact that she hadn't slept in at least 48 hours. Not that she minded, she still got more sleep now than she used to with her manipulator. Right now she could feel herself drifting off. She shut her eyes, deciding to just rest for a second right before she completely fell asleep.

| Bounding into the room with a new jumper and freshly cleaned jacket, the Doctor opened his mouth to say something along the lines of Robin holding her horses before stopping himself and raising his eyebrows at the younger girl passed out in the jumper seat beside the console. Thinking back quickly, he realized with a soft curse the girl hasn't had a moment's sleep or even rest in nearly two days, if not more. Passing a hand over his head in thought, he debated on taking her to Maroon 5 or not before a sudden thought struck him. What she needed was a human companion of her own, someone that would help remind him that sleep and food was needed on a regular basis rather than once every few days or so like he needed.
Frowning slightly in thought, the Doctor strode over to the screen and began tapping on the keyboard there, going through his extensive list of companions from the past, looking for someone that he could pick up for a quick trip, someone that would be sure to let him know of basic human needs. Mal was gone, he hasn't seen her in months, most likely moved on with her life and didn't want to bother him with her problems, stupid girl. Why would he say he wanted to see her if he didn't want to be bothered with her life? Shaking his head in frustration, he scrolled farther down before pausing on one particular name. Ramona, of course! She had enough snark in her to keep him in line when needed. Not that he ever needed it, mind, but it wouldn't hurt to have her around. Considering he wanted to see how her telepathy had evolved, if she blocked it off or if she began using it normally yet.
Without casting a glance over at Robin, the Doctor set the TARDIS to land in the same place as the last time he visited her town, a slow smile on his face as he strode over to the doors and opened them quietly, slipping out into the alleyway and shutting the door behind him quickly so he wouldn't wake Robin up with his exit. Casting a quick glance around, he tucked his hands into his jacket pockets and strode out of the shadows and down the sidewalk, searching for a library nearby. She had to be in one of them, considering how she reacted to a whole planet of books on their first and last disastrous journey.

The building was amazingly empty and splendidly silent. Brilliant. The only sound to be heard was the soft, resounding inhalation of the Library's sleeping attendant. And stranger still was how the woman had urged herself up onto the counter-top, pushing piles of 'returns' to the floor, and stretched out along the cool surface. A short gate twitched precariously with every breath that rumbled through her torso, but it made little difference to Ramona Eden. She was hardly aware as she slumbered peacefully, surrounded by the things that made her feel safest in the vast of the Universe. For the Universe was in fact very vast, and very wide. Full of aliens and bizarre creatures. From Jackalopes to Time Lords Ramona had resigned herself to the fact that Earth was not alone, and she was just a painfully small speck of dust swimming in a sea of huge fish.
Though her face was calm and untouched by pain or fear her dreams were filled with the face of a chaotic android, the Earth shattering into chunks of celestial debris as it was forced into a preemptive supernova. A shudder ran down the length of her short self and she shifted, twisting around on the counter, pulling her hoodie up to reveal the fuzzy expanse of her lower back. Unconsciously she buried her nose into the crook of her arm, trying to escape and enemy that was long since gone. Eyes the color of burnt honey glistened as tired eyelids were peeled away, revealing pools of unnatural calm and a lonely bitterness. The Siren... an experience that dwarfed the Doctor's memory in an avalanche of loathing and personal disgust. And the Master, if she ever saw the slick grin on his face again she would peel his lips off and staple the dark hole shut.
Once upon a time she might have been a pretty nice girl, full of life and hoping to find her way to the stars with the NASA program. But all it took was a blue eyed man and his blue box and suddenly she was spiraling into a nightmare of aliens and saving the world. Her mind simmered quietly and sparked gently as somebody passed by the outside window, she didn't even bother looking. They were but small ripples in the pond of her mind, her own self-created world to signify the rise and fall of mental connections to the people around her. The Master had given her the idea and she now used it to her advantage, which mostly consisted of keeping the pain at bay. Learning to shut her doors had been relatively easy and it served to keep small snippets of everyday life out of her thoughts, it kept the madness at arms length and saved her from humility. But trying to intercept an experienced telepath was another matter entirely, they pulsed heavily against the waters of her mind and Ramona would always walk away with migraines or just pass out. Which is why she jerked toward the window as the faint, familiar tendrils of a severed memory reached out to her.
Did he even know he was doing it? It couldn't have been the Master, she would have killed him by now. His mark was impossible to miss, and the Siren... She was long gone. That only left one person, the first imprint she'd ever made, the first searing scars that throbbed against her frontal lobe. He was looking for her, and he knew what he was doing. She hissed and stared hard at the glass of the open front windows. Anytime now...

| Poking his head around the door as he pushed it open slightly, the Doctor observed the empty library curiously, his nose breathing in the scents of old pages and dusty shelves as he cautiously made his way forward, searching for the faint color he sensed in here. Only one person he knew had that mental color, a golden one that had been darkened by memories until it appeared tarnished almost. "Ramona?" He called out finally, peering around the edge of a bookcase and finally spotting the familiar girl, a brilliant smile stretching across his face at the sight of her. "There you are! Hoped to run into you, wanted to see how you were doing, what you've been..." He trailed off, finally allowing the faint emotion trickling from her connection to register in his own mind and backed off a small step, hands coming up in a defensive position. | |

She watched him enter, slip and search through the shelves, admire the golden double-doors and finally settle his eyes on her. Ramona flared her nostrils and made it perfectly clear that if he wanted to live past tonight he would stop moving. Her mind flickered and warped an echo of pain responded to the activity plus the appearance of one with telepathic resonance. She winced imperceptibly and dug dirty nails into the counter. "Doctor. How have you been?" She bluntly ignored his rambling, watching how his stature changed drastically from friendly and open to closed and cautious. His hands erected in hopes of assuaging her dissonance. But Ramona was not going to attack him, she was not angry or upset with him. He was hurting her without meaning too and she could do little more than frown and bite her lips to keep the pain from showing on her face.

| Blinking slightly, the Doctor cautiously studied the emotion flitting along their connection before finally realizing what the problem was and abruptly slammed his mental defenses down, effectively cutting off the connection and leaving him alone in his head. "Right... Sorry." He mumbled, trying to apologize for his unintended attack on her mental touch, his eyes flickering with the unaccustomed emotion of remorse. "Er, wanted to ask if you would like to come along with Robin and I." He finally stated, his hands finding their way into the pockets of his jacket as he studied Ramona from where he stood, unwilling to go farther.
"You see... She's human, and I don't remember things like sleeping or eating most of the time." He rambled, a hand suddenly shifting from it's pocket and waving in the air as he tried to convey what he meant. "Passed out, little thing, right in the jumper seat of all places. Forgot she didn't sleep for nearly two days if not a little more, wanted to see if you'd come along. Remind me about things like sleep and food..." He trailed off, his blue eyes finding her's as he waited for her response, quietly studying the lines of pain on her face with a slight frown twitching at the corners of his mouth.

She flinched openly when he completely eliminated his mental connection to her, his blue eyes flashing with realization, and she was grateful for how swiftly he worked. She gave a slow hiss as he began on his offer, asking her to return to his TARDIS for a young female of his. Or at least she assumed this Robin was female, he struck Ramona as that type. He used excuses such as needing to be reminded of daily and basic human needs, she couldn't help the picture of him forgetting to get dressed. Although her mind blocked out the majority of things she gave a small gasp and swatted the image away, she hoped this Robin didn't have to remind him to get dressed! Thank the Gods he was dressed now. Ramona took a few minutes to size him up, eyes taking time on each article of clothing, every flutter of pulse against his jaw, the discomfort and regret that washed away the previous glad-tidings. He was the same man. The same Doctor who started this whole thing.
Ramona softened her expression and allowed a smile to pull at her lips, "I suppose, Doctor... Can I ask you something."

| Looking up from the small stain on the floor he had been focusing on while he waited, the Doctor flashed her one of his usual smiles, his eyes flashing with a look of wary trust as he sized her up, debating on how to answer her question before nodding quickly. A simple jerk of the head that indicated she could ask whatever it was on her mind. Dragging his eyes away again, he opted for the ceiling this time, watching the filtered lights flicker slightly with the pulse of energy flowing through them. Too quick for the human eye to see, but one he always noticed whenever in a building on Earth. Blimey, it gave him a headache on occasion if he stayed inside for too long. | |

"Can you help me make it better? This-" She gestured at her head, hair bobbing with every shake as she ground her teeth angrily. It was his fault in the first place, this crazy little ability of hers. She was wan to call it by its true name because that would be admitting she was no longer normal. That would be admitting to herself that she was just a step closer to being... Alien. And this scared her. "I'm not- It's not like, I'm a bad person okay. Just not a people person and we probably didn't get off on the right foot. And then all of that stuff and just, it was madness and- I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being a total prat!" Her heart wedged a complaint against her apologizing and she was torn in two. A part of her resented her need to be forgiven with a viciousness to rival a battlefield while the other half strove for acceptance and reached with the desire to know more.
A ripple waved through her thoughts and she pulled back, somebody with a particularly strong sense had passed but it was gone just as fast. Still she eyed the windows for a moment, fear pounding in her chest. Would the Master come after her again? Would he dare? She wished him dead so badly and wished even more to be the one to kill him. But would she be able to lift a hand if the opportunity ever came? She focused back on the Doctor and pursed her lips.

| "Ramona... What you have now, it's there, all the time." The Doctor said quietly, dropping his eyes back to her face, unable to keep his gaze from her searching eyes as he did, a small crease forming between his eyes as he focused on his thoughts for a moment. "You can either train it so it won't hurt... Or you can simply block it out with mental walls." He added with a soft sigh, both of his hands coming out of their pockets and waving uselessly in the air as he let his shoulders slump slightly. "Look, I can't just take it away, it's been unlocked in your brain. Something that won't be tested with for at least three of your Earth centuries. You are way ahead of your time." A slight smile threatened to break through his careful expression, causing his lower lip to twitch with the urge to curl upwards.
"Training is easy... Easy with just me... In the TARDIS. She blocks out other minds so it's only us." He added hopefully, his lips finally curling upwards as he studied her face, the strain and worry etched into every line.

She listened to him silently, doing her utmost to hold her mind still while coming up with new questions to ask. The way he said it made it sound as though all of the work she'd put into it so far was nothing, as though learning to shut the doors to her thoughts wasn't enough. She was perfectly capable of closing off her thoughts to people around her and it was enough to keep the pain a length. She could remember hour upon hour of lying in her living room, crying like a baby before finally mastering the touch to her satisfaction. Her problem lied in the opposing telepaths that she occasionally encountered, such as Siren and the Master. All she had to do was be in the vicinity and the weight of their mental presence was near crushing, and she didn't even have to touch them. And to be honest learning how to block it all out while running for her life and avoiding being eaten was the last thing on her list. She hadn't had the time, and since the Master had vanished she'd been spending the few scant weeks trying to return her life to some semblance of normalcy. Again.
Ramona sighed and shook her head, eyes flickering up to meet his before following a crack in the floor. She played with her lower lip and pondered on what she could ask him and how to get it all out in one go. He seemed quite antsy to be gone from the Library and somewhere, at the back of her mind she remembered his threats of impatience. Yet that was a time before now, a time before all of their history. Now it was he who sought her out- her chest pitched a bit- and it was he who seemed almost desperate for her to say yes. Or maybe she was reading him wrong... "Just you and me? No one else..." her mind brought up a self-made image of the Robin girl he'd mentioned and gold eyes narrowed just barely. "Okay,"
She slipped quietly down from the counter, her heartbeat loud while her landing was virtually soundless. Only the vague rustling of her hoodie followed her movement and even that could be an excuse for the air conditioner ruffling the pages of a book. She moved with the practice of someone who had become used to running, escaping, and vying for her life. She didn't even think about it.

| Smiling suddenly, the Doctor ran for the door, throwing it open and stepping back out onto the sidewalk, blinking in the sunshine as he let his body relax again. Blimey he hated buildings. So small on the inside, it made him feel closed in. Briefly, he wondered if he was becoming claustrophobic before shaking his head and turning to look at Rami, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket, rocking on his feet slightly as he waited for her to step out onto the sidewalk with him.
Once she was outside, he turned to walk off before hesitating and turning back to her, one of his hands slipping out of his pocket and holding out in the air between them, his eyes moving to her face again, searching for something, anything that might mean she's doing this of her own want. Not the fact he seemed to be begging her to come along. Dropping his eyes back down to his hand, he waited to see if she would take it, leaving the choice up to her before clearing his throat. "Robin is asleep in the TARDIS right now... She isn't telepathic, so you won't pick anything up from her..."

Ramona followed him outside and covered her mouth with the silver of her sleeve as she watched him burst into a bright smile and take in the night air. Time seemed to have taken on a life of its own and tossed the moon into the sky in her absence, sometimes napping just took precedence. Although she was fast to clear her throat softly and slip small hands into her pockets- Until suddenly he was holding his out to her. His eyes were warm on her face and Ramona stuttered just a moment, eyeing that hand as though expecting it to morph into something dangerous. Knowing her luck it might... But a moment longer and it was still as human- well, not so much but 'humanoid,' as could be. She settled her gaze on him and tried to understand what he was feeling, watching his features for any twitches that might give him away. But he was doing a fabulous job of hiding whatever it was he was thinking, but he was offering her a very private part of himself at the same time.
There had been a time when holding hands wouldn't have been such a big deal. If she took that hand now she'd be completely open to him and it would be incredibly difficult to escape. Thus was the curse of touching others now, and so she was hesitant. He had to know what he was doing, and from the look on his face this offering was a reflex, making it possible he didn't really mean it in that way. He was better at controlling himself after-all, she might very well be able to hold that hand without being privy to his dark corners. She retrieved a hand of her own and very slowly reached out, jerking back a moment, and finally trailed her fingers over his palm. Feather light touches that became a hopeful hug of palms and fingers as she took his hand, and his offer of friendship.

| His smile morphed into a full-blown grin, teeth flashing in the dim lighting as he gently gripped her hand in his and lead her down the sidewalk, his head tilted back as he watched the stars for a moment, thoughtful in his silence. He carefully set his mental barriers in order to keep from her getting into his head. The last thing he wanted after finally gaining her trust would be to shatter it with a painful thought. Tilting his head to the side, he watched Ramona out of the corners of his eyes, his grin widening slightly as he studied her.
"You'll love it... Not the only person on the TARDIS to deal with my rambling anymore." He suddenly said, breaking the silence between them as he strode across the road and to the other side, pulling her to a stop so he could talk to her properly without Robin listening in. "I'm not... I realize what I've done in the past wasn't the best..." He murmured, a hand rubbing the back of his neck from a recent nervous habit he had picked up from some planet they visited a few weeks ago. "I wanted to save your life, and that was the only thing I could think of." He finally concluded, feeling his breath escape him in a soft sigh as he let his form slump forward slightly.
Straightening up suddenly, he started walking again, leading Ramona down the alleyway towards the lights of the TARDIS at the end with another smile brightening his features. "Right, off we go. Somewhere anyway, any ideas? No, I think Robin said she wanted to go somewhere, I don't know." He said quickly, arguing with himself as he pulled out the key and unlocked the blue door to push it inward so they could walk into the familiar control room. "Robin, wake up!"

| Robin jolted up from her slump, eyes popping open as she fell from the seat with a yelp. Taking a minute to process what just happened, she rolled her eyes, getting to her feet with a groan. "Oi, you could've been nicer about that! You could have given me a concussion or-" She stopped abruptly, her scowl fading to a simple frown of confusion. "Hold on, who's this?" Pointing a finger at Ramona, she raised an eyebrow, feeling like if there was a shot to be taken at the Doctor, she'd take it. Then she quickly realized she was being grumpy. Slowly letting her finger drop, she smiled weakly at Ramona. "Sorry about that... That was rude." She sighed, crossing her arms and moving to lean against the console. "See what you're doing to me? Now this poor woman probably thinks I'm grouchy. Ugh, that sounded rude as well. God, I need sleep...." Reaching up, she rubbed at her eyes, feeling a pang of guilt at her sudden mood changes. If there was ever a worst first impression, it was this one. "Sorry what was your name?" She asked, dropping her hands and offering an apologetic smile. Wow she was bad at this. | |

If it was possible to be utterly infatuated with someone as much as you hated them at once than she would have taken the cake. Nothing, sweet, delicious nothing crept into her mind and to be frank it was the best thing in her world at that moment. She was quick to hide it though as he tugged her across the street and stopped, she gazed up at him questioningly and was a bit taken aback when he apologized once more. Every sweep of his hands, wriggle of his fingers and flash of his eyes revealed how truly remorseful he was for the whole thing. And really that was the second best thing in her world, and she forced her smile to be soft "I already told you Doctor. Thank you." And they were off once more.
He burst into the TARDIS doors with a flare of energy, calling out for the Robin girl who from what Ramona saw jerked awake from her stance on the console seat and promptly slipped to the floor. She had to press both hands into her face to keep from chortling at the irony as the girl, Robin, got sluggishly too her feet, accusing the Doctor of unfamiliar things while pointing fingers and demanding answers. "Ramona," She replied quietly to the girls sleepy attempts at re-evaluating her behavior, and being civil.

| Casting an irritated glance at Nat, the Doctor pulled his jacket off and flung it into the newly vacant jumper seat before settling into place beside the controls, his hands hovering over them as he watched the two girls talking with a curious expression on his face. "Right then, off we go. I planned on going to Maroon 5 but I happen to remember you wanted to go somewhere, Robin." He stated, interrupting their small conversation quickly to avoid a long debate of some sort, a grin flashed across his face as he waited for her reply, eyes flicking over to Ramona happily. This was his element, the TARDIS, running off to different planets and seeing what could be seen there. | |

| Robin turned to look at him, surprised that he actually remembered for once. "Oh yeah... I think.. Hm. I forgot the name. That planet with the really weird ecosystem, and the 47 seasons. Kegron Pluva?" She shrugged, hoping he'd know what she was talking about. Casting a glance back at Ramona, a frown crossed her features. "Oh, sorry. Wow, I have terrible manners. Anywhere you wanna go? I can always make him take me there some other time if you'd rather go some place else." She shrugged, deciding it polite to let the guest choose where to go. Even if she really wanted to see that planet. It'd probably be a bit wild for Ramona, though. Then again, she probably met him before, which meant she might have traveled with him before. So she honestly had no idea now. Ugh, she needed to stop thinking so hard and confusing herself. | |

"I don't mind." She mumbled to Robin but loud enough for the Doctor to hear. She shot him quick glances before focusing on Robin who seemed intent on proving something, she just wasn't sure what. For sure the girl rambled a lot, just on and on about nothing while blaming the Doctor for something or another. Ramona smiled small and coy as she worked her way around until she was in position to settle down into the 'jumper seat,' if she recalled that right. Making herself comfortable while waiting for the TARDIS to move, and Robin to realize it.

| "Kegron Pluva it is then, hold on." The Doctor announced, his hands flying over the controls once more as he took the TARDIS back into the vortex for another bumpy ride, his hands gripping the edge of the console with a manic grin on his face, eyes locked onto the time rotor in front of him with what looked like glee before the ship finally touched down with a jolting stop. "Ah! Much better, come on, Robin, Ramona. Off to see the fungi dogs!" He called over his shoulder cheerfully, hand already snagging his jacket on the way to the door and yanking it onto his shoulders.
Stopping by the doors, he turned to stare at the two with him, eyebrows raised up slightly at the sight of them still in their spots. "Time locked? What did I just say, come on then. Get moving, you won't get to see a planet like this very often." He said brightly, his forced smile covering up the irritation he had in his voice. Blimey, humans. With a slight shrug of the shoulders, the Doctor turned to the doors and pulled them open to step outside, taking a deep breath of the crisp air with an easy smile. Leave it to Robin to pick the most docile of planets.

| Robin rolled her eyes at the Doctor's inhuman speed and impatience before she began her stride out the door. As soon as she crossed the threshold, her face lit up in awe. "Woah..." She giggled, taking a few more steps to spin around in the hot pink grass. That was definitely something new. Her head tilted back as she stared at the cloudless Easter-green sky. It was like a backwards sunset! "I am never gonna get tired of this.." She mumbled as she walked back to join the Doctor and Ramona. "What year is this? Is this like, WAY before Earth or the future or what?" Every time she said the word future, she winced in her head. The future the Doctor thought was her's and the one she actually had were two completely different things. His version might even be before she was born. Eh, she'd tell him one day. Unless he figured that out. Then crap... | |

The Doctor had gone from melancholy to lively and just as impatient. His penchant for impatience came shining through as he dashed around, grabbing his jacket, and making idle threats. She wondered what he'd do if she simply chose not to follow them, even as her legs moved her toward the swinging TARDIS door, she contemplated staying put. Robin seemed to be a perfectly easy-going if not klutzy girl, full of power and a desire to move forward. She and the Doctor seemed to get along with ease and their relationship made Ramona smile and then frown. Robin was perfectly decent and yet Ramona found herself storming up all number of little 'jokes,' and 'pranks' that she could play on the young girl. She doubted the Doctor would enjoy what she had in mind either... the ideas were slow and gradually cruel with each possibility. Where was all of it coming from? The kid hadn't even done anything to her. 'You're being possessive of the Doctor' her mind stated with a shrug and Ramona gawked, incredulity wrote it's poem across her features and she shook her head aggressively.
She'd only known the Doctor a number of... Something but nowhere near long enough for something like that to develop. Ramona didn't become attached to people like that, especially men like him who: dragged her to hell and back, used nano-genes to inadvertently make her- not normal, and then have the gonads to come and ask her out on a second date- date! No! Ramona laid one firmly placed slap across her cheek and gripped the stinging surface. There was no room for such faulty thoughts! Anger slithered into her chest and tightened the coils there, her blood rushed and suddenly she was jumping against the pink grass that came well above her knees. Curse her lack of height!

| Turning to look over his shoulder at the two girls, the Doctor grinned brightly, waving an energetic hand out at the view in front of them. "Kegron Pluva, home to the docile species that look like fungi dogs. The year, 3054 and not a single problem on the horizon. Welcome to the most calm of all the planets." He beamed proudly, his chest puffing out slightly as if he were the one to make the planet himself as he stared around the area, a curious glint in his eyes. "Come on, let's find some locals and see what trouble we can get into, yeah?" Laughing brightly, he strode off over the pink grass as it brushed against his legs lightly, his jacket flapping slightly as a gentle wind blew against him. | |

| Robin mentally sighed. Still not born yet. One day she'd have to tell him so he would stop taking her to the past, but it wasn't like it ever got boring, so that'd never end up being a reason. Still - no reason to mope, this was a beautiful planet! She was simply excited being able to say she set foot on it at all. "It's always trouble with you, isn't it? I swear, you've got to have a magnet in your shoes or something. Or maybe it's in your nose." She joked, nudging him with her elbow. Glancing behind her, she beckoned for Ramona to join them with her hand. She seemed rather nice, maybe a tad too sweet, but if the Doctor bothered to take her with them, then she definitely had to have some spice to her. Probably. | |

Ramona jumped after the two, just barely catching up to Robin before she had to shove forward again. She viciously cursed her genetics as she grabbed angrily at the grass and threw it out of her way, which was pretty fruitless considering it was connected to the ground, and rebounded back in her face. Spluttering Ramona cussed under her breath, tugging at her hoodie as it got caught on a particular scratchy weed, or she thought it was a weed. Hoped it was a weed. After taking a minute to free herself she was forced to trip through the stupidly pink grass to catch up with her companions.
