Oi! Watch It Time Girl!

The Doctor finally made his way up to the control room, only to find Sonya already standing over the control console, having used the tube to get there much faster than his way via staircase. Smirking, The Doctor walked over to the control console, gently patting Sonya on the shoulder to let her know that he was there, "Welcome back" he said softly with a slight chuckle before turning his attention back to the device and the organ he had pinch in between pliers. "I found an organ inside of the device" The Doctor began to explain, "It's a Hypointelli, an organ from the brain of a Har' Krath. One of the oldest civilizations in the known universe...tad bit younger than the Time Lords but that goes without saying. Thought to be extinct long time ago..but if this is found at the heart of one of their devices...makes me think differently".

With a sniff, The Doctor set the organ down and turned back to Sonya, "The organ was used to read brain waves from other species..read minds and implant ideas. I'm guessing the robots used that organ to transmit their thoughts directly into the memory storage unit. Document everything on the voyage so all they had to do when they got back was insert it into an extrapolater.".

"Alright, that's actually a brilliant idea without the fact they mutilated people to do this." Sonya said with a slight frown, her sightless eyes narrowing in thought as she debated on what it meant. "But why would they suddenly have an interest in Dark Matter? If the Time Lords found out, that's one thing, we're brilliant when it comes to anything, but we hardly used it. You'd think they'd take a hint from the fact that we didn't put it to use."

Turning her head towards the Doctor's voice, she blinked slightly, trying to remember something she remembered seeing on the ship they landed on. Just a quick flash of it really, something she didn't really pay attention to, but now it seemed important. "Now that I think of it, while we were on the ship, being taken to the medical bay, I thought I saw one of the robots heading towards the deeper part of the ship with a box of Dark Matter. At the time I didn't think much of it, but now... They were storing the Dark matter in that bay we landed in, where was he taking that box?"

The Doctor rose an eyebrow, "More to the point, how much dark matter was inside" he replied in a mumbling tone, his eyes dancing back over to the scanner, "Because with a drop of dark matter you could do amazing things. That technology we saw was carved through dark matter, dark matter fueled it. But nowhere near huge quantities of it were being used. Now if someone was collecting it...slowly gathering through specific things or places then it could be a problem.". The Doctor paused and shivered at the thought, "That much dark matter could push the time vortex in half, strip it down to nothing in mere seconds" he finally concluded, "Sonya....we're going to Har' Krathia". Yanking down the main lever with authority, The Doctor input the coordinates and worked furiously on the controls of the console before he finally found himself standing beside Sonya once more.

With the TARDIS spiraling through the time vortex, The Doctor released a sigh and leaned up against the side of the control console, "It's a ways off so it will take the TARDIS a minute or two to get there." he chuckled, "She's spoiled me. Not used to having to wait this long to go someplace...either that or with my increasingly old age i've become more and more impatient". Smirking, The Doctor glanced over to Sonya, "The Har' Krath should be able to fix your sight. It's their toxin after all that did it...well...if they can be convinced of doing so" he reassured her, "That was always the hardest part with them according to legend. The most stubborn species in the cosmos they were called...hmmm...sounds like we'll get along perfectly".

"I'll give them the fury of a blind Time Lord if they don't fix it." Sonya muttered, hands gripping the edge of the console tightly to keep her balance from each tiny movement the ship made. It drove her crazy, not seeing anything, her senses were sharper than normal, which added to the irritation that was building in her. "So, another legend besides us is floating around out there, huh?" She finally said thoughtfully, her sightless eyes staring straight ahead of her as she spoke. "I've always heard that the Time Lords were rare, or on some cases, we didn't even exist besides in stories. But now there's someone else out there in the same boat. It's a wonder I didn't hear about them until now. Usually I spent so much time reading, I pick up anything." Trailing off, she frowned slightly, her eyes shutting while her head leaned down.

"You know, I always took my life for granted, even in the past. I threw it away for the sake of another. Always getting myself into trouble and not even knowing if I'd get out of it in time to survive. But loosing my sight has to be the worst thing that could happen. It really puts things into perspective. Everything seems so much bigger than I am right now, I can't judge size, or facial expressions to know the truth in anything. I feel so small right now, it's like I'm just a speck floating around in the universe, bumping into other specks like me." Turning her head in the direction she heard the Doctor breathing in, she smiled weakly. "I never thought I'd feel like this ever again."

The Doctor squatted down in front of Sonya, placing his hands on the side of her head, "But you are far from that" he reassured her, "You're the biggest thing in the room...and i'm not talking about your ego because mine's a bit bigger than yours. But getting back to the point...inside of you are universes of information and knowledge..sometimes bigger and better than mine. But when it's not..the little moments when they're not...you've always had someone by your side. Whether you've known it or not. So Sonya....sweet little Sonya...don't you ever think or feel..like you're alone". Smiling, The Doctor rubbed his thumb across her cheek before kissing her forehead lightly just as the TARDIS experienced one last thrust as it landed. Glancing over his shoulder, The Doctor peered from the time rotor all the way down to the doors, "We're here.." he mumbled before looking back to Sonya, "You ready?".

Getting up, The Doctor turned his attention over towards the doors and snapped them open with his right hand, his left extending back behind him to grab Sonya, "Take my hand. I need you to know something. This is a dangerous place...far more dangerous than any other planet you've been on, trust me. Here, people would snatch you up just to sell your body parts. The Har' Karth we're looking for is the one that doesn't want to be found. So stay close. Don't wander off and don't lick anything".

Sonya managed a weak smile once again before reaching out hesitantly, her hand waving around in the air before coming into contact with his and gripping it tightly. "I should be telling you that. You're the one that likes to lick random objects because you can't figure out what they are." Laughing lightly, she turned her head slightly, one of her ears pointed towards the open doors to listen to the outside curiously. "I don't hear anything out there besides wind. Lots of dirt though, can hear it blowing about."

Straightening up, she pulled on the Doctor's hand lightly with a manic grin in his general direction. "Come on then, you're my seeing eye Doctor, aren't you? Be my eyes and tell me everything in case I don't get to see it. Down to the color of the grass and dirt, the shape of the trees and how many various plants there are. I want to try and see it in my head." Shuffling her feet slightly, she slowly made her way around the console until she finally passed it, her hand tightening around his once she reached the open area. I've been in this TARDIS how many times and I'm scared to death I'm going to fall off the edge of the platform! I ought to know this place better!

The Doctor nodded, taking her hand tightly as he turned towards the doors, "Don't i usually do that anyways?" he joked, trying to make light of the situation as best he could. Opening up the doors, The Doctor peered out before allowing Sonya through, making sure everything was alright before coming all the way out. With the nearby merchant stations clear of any customers and side streets seemingly clean, The Doctor nudged Sonya out and into the streets where immediately the merchants began trying to get him to buy things. "Nothing yet but a few hungry merchants, damp alley way and dim lighting" The Doctor told Sonya, describing the atmosphere around him like Sonya wanted him to, "Please! Buy some fruit! It's nice and soggy!!!" one merchant pleaded, much to the disgust of The Doctor upon seeing the fruit on the stand, "Trust me Sonya, you won't want to see what they're selling here".

Taking a few steps from the alley, it immediately opened up to a larger merchant square. Cars soaring overhead as seemingly endless groups of varying size, species, and height moved in and out of the merchant stores and stands. "If i'm not mistaken...the man we're looking for should be around here somewhere" The Doctor mumbled, taking out a small parchment of paper out of the breast pocket of his suit and reviewing the parchment before glancing back up to the scene in front of him, "Blimey...might be harder than i thought".

Turning her head from side to side, Sonya listened to everything going on around them, her nose twitching slightly from the odd scents surrounding her. Tightening her grip around his hand, she frowned slightly, listening to the Doctor before tugging to get his attention. "Don't you men learn anything? I mean really, I haven't met one man that can stand asking for directions. It's always 'no, I know where I'm going.' or 'No, I have a pretty good idea where we're at.' only to end up lost a few moments later." Looking in his direction, she shook her free hand in his face with a frown. "Ask someone, I'm sure with how many people I hear, there's at least one person around here that knows who your talking about, Doctor."

Shaking her head slightly, Sonya let out a slight huff. In truth, she was mostly irritated by being blind and taking it out on him. But she didn't care, she was fed up with not seeing anything, her hearing was sensitive before all of this, now if someone were to yell across the street, her eardrums would pop. "Hurry up, by the way. I don't think I can take any more of this, I'm about to snap at the next person to say 'buy this!' in that same damn tone of voice. At least use some sort of tenor, really."

The Doctor smirked, glancing back to Sonya as she made a remark about the merchants. It was true, the merchants of this world easily rang the nerves of any and all who were unlucky enough to venture past their tables. Even The Doctor, who had traveled here countless times, began to find the calls from the merchants highly annoying as he passed in front of a few more merchants. "Get your!-" The man began to shout directly to the side of The Doctor before The Doctor turned and placed his index finger onto the mans mouth. The man peered down to the finger with now widened eyes, "Sssshhh. I'm trying to think" The Doctor told him before glancing around the market square, "W-what are you looking for?" the man asked, "This planet's doctor". The man paused, a first not wanting to answer The Doctor's question but rethought his response when his eyes met Sonya's, "Keep walking straight then turn left. His house is on the right..he will be able to mend your woman".

The Doctor nodded, almost about to follow the man's directions before his mind caught up with what he had said, "Hold on....my woman?" The Doctor asked, his eyebrow raised, "Yes. It is quite obvious she is yours" the man replied with a chuckle. Fearing the reply of Sonya and what she might do to the man, The Doctor promptly yanked her hand and began heading off in the direction that the man had given him. Looking up at the house, believed to be the worlds only doctor, The Doctor almost didn't enter, pondering what truly laid behind those doors until they opened and an older man stood on the other side. "I've been waiting for you. Come in...hurry" The old doctor hissed, opening the door fully to allow The Doctor and Sonya through, "Let's get those eyes healed..ey?" he commented upon seeing Sonya up close for the first time.

"You know, I've realized a lot of people seem to have that state of mind lately." Sonya muttered, turning her head to stare up where she thought the Doctor's face was. "Do you have like, a sign around your neck or something saying 'She's mine. Don't touch.' or something?" A scowl pulled her lips down at the corners as she spoke. Really, it was starting to get ridiculous with the comments lately. Not to mention, this was probably the first time they had reason to say something like that, considering they were holding hands out of necessity. letting out a low sigh, she let go anything else she might have to say as they stopped once more to listen to the other man they met.

Sonya growled under her breath and turned her head from side to side. "Do it quick, there's a merchant back there I have to give a quick payment for a comment he made." Pulling away from the Doctor, she took a cautious step forward, towards the voice of the other man with a slight frown. "How did you know we'd be coming anyway? We only asked one person, and we didn't even say why we needed you." She asked suddenly, confusion appearing on her features before she backed up next to the Doctor again. Reaching over, she gripped his sleeve so reassure herself he was still there.

The man grinned menacingly, looking from The Doctor then to Sonya and back to The Doctor, "Ooohh i always know when Time Lords are coming" he replied, rubbing both hands together before gesturing to his living room with his head, "This way please". Raising his eyebrow, The Doctor nodded his head and cautiously followed after the man, lightly taking Sonya's hand in the process. The room opened up to a large table in the center with various panels and canisters containing various colored liquids and gases inside of them. Two large men stood at the frame of the door and quickly grabbed The Doctor before he could resist, pinning him up against the wall as the door into the living room sealed shut and locked. The man laughed, "Here's how we will fix your eyes dearly" he said to Sonya, "Don't you touch her!!!" proclaimed The Doctor, trying to get free of the two men but to no avail. "Your people have this energy emitted when they regenerate. Each time giving out more and more power. I need that energy. The price for it is out of the roof as your beloved humans would say Doctor" The man chuckled, "I will fix your eyes alright. Maybe just not the way you had hoped".

Slipping out a knife, the man lunged forward directly at Sonya, blade out first, "Sonya!!!!" The Doctor cried, leaning forward the best he could but the man forced him back to the wall, forcing him to watch what would happen.

Sonya blinked her useless eyes, panicking at what was going on around her. The Doctor was jerked away from her grip, and from the sounds of it, across the room while this other man spoke of their Regeneration energy. Ah, so that's what he was saying. She thought suddenly, jerking to the side, a cry slipping from her lips as a sharp pain connected with her side. "What the hell is wrong with you? Trying to stab people, especially someone that can't see you!" She snapped, a hand clapping over the shallow cut, trying to still the flow of blood as she backed away from him only to have her back bump into a wall.

"Doctor! What-" Sonya called out only to be cut short as a sharp pain exploded in her stomach followed by a twisting sensation. "Ah... Shouldn't have waited..." She gasped softly, both hands clasping around the hilt of the knife imbedded in her flesh before sinking to the floor and trying to pull it out weakly. "Really... That's low... Stabbing a blind person." She spat out, vividly aware of the blood dribbling over her lips and falling down her chin to the floor as she curled forward. "I mean... If I wanted this... I- I could... I could have forced it." With a low groan, she stood up slowly, her legs shaking from the effort before straightening out once more.

Reaching up with a blood-stained hand, she clasped her necklace, faintly aware of the tingling feeling crossing her skin once it made contact with the smooth jewel. "I have to say though. You're worthless if you think you can keep your hands on my energy. A bit different than the average Time Lords you know..." Opening her eyes suddenly, Sonya locked them onto the man in front of her, the red in them slowly expanding out from the pupils until it took over the blue in them entirely. "I tend to be a bit... Explosive."

The man stumbled back, his eyes widening at the sudden change on Sonya, hitting the table behind him and falling down as a crack suddenly erupted on the wall behind Sonya. In the center of it, a man stood, his face shifting through all the faces of The Doctor before revealing his own as The Valeyard. He peered over to The Doctor, who held his hand over his face to shield his eyes from the burning light, "But you can be so much more without him" he spoke, turning to Sonya, "The Doctor is holding you back..he always has and you let him. Release what you know you can! Stop speaking about it and finally do it! You have power far greater than the Time Lords..you are..the Nightmare Child..use it's power. Listen to it. Let it take over".

Although The Doctor could not see the man, he could hear his voice, immediately knowing who it was, his eyes widened. "Sonya!" He exclaimed, "Don't listen to him! You have always been what you wanted to be! With or without me! Just please! Don't listen to him!" he urged. The Valeyard placed his hand on Sonya's shoulder, reaching out from the crack, "You know what i say is true...you know your destiny. It's time" he spoke softly, reaching down and touching the necklace lightly as the crack began to close, "Come....come....come". The Valeyard's voice trailed off as the crack closed more and more, forcing him back, his hand extended for Sonya to take it as The Doctor forced his hand to lower to see what was going on, "Sonya!!!!".

Sonya turned to glare over at the Doctor from where she stood, her red eyes narrowed in distaste. "You really are pathetic, Doctor. Clinging to everyone around you in order to hide your fears from them. You don't want them to see your weaknesses, you refuse to trust anyone. You used me most of all." Sonya hissed at him, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides as she spoke, torn between striding towards him and simply doing away with the one thing in the room that irritated her the most, and taking the hand that was held out to her. "I see why you're always running, you don't want your past to catch up, you don't want the things you've done to find you..." A cruel smile suddenly flashed across her face as she stared at him. "You had best run fast then, Doctor. I'll be coming back."

Turning away from him, Sonya reached out, her hand closing around the Valeyard's, fingers tightening as the hand began drawing her towards the crack. Turning to look over at the Doctor again, her eyes shifted from red to blue followed by a trail of tears as they cascaded down her cheeks. "I'm sorry, Doctor..." she managed to whisper before a bright light enveloped her and filled the room before fading away, leaving behind an empty space where she stood only moments ago.

The Doctor froze, his eyes wide, tears building up as the men let go off his arms and let him fall down to his knees, "Well that was amazing.." the older man grumbled in the corner of the room, finding his balance as he stood up, "I didn't get my energy but i did as you asked. I certainly fixed them.". The older man began to laughing, chuckling at first before it began to build, "No" The Doctor hissed, the man fell dead silent, "You just fixed the wrong ones and damaged the other". The Doctor stood up, lowering his head as he turned and began to walk out, "W-wha...wait!" the old man insisted, "What do you mean?!", The Doctor stopped at the edge of the door frame, "It means that if i don't stop it..if i don't stop him then this universe will be destroyed! This universe is on the verge of collapse! I was holding it back, stopping it from coming but all you did was unleash it. Now there is no turning back...it is coming and there's nothing i can do about it".

Without another word, The Doctor walked out of the building, "What is coming?!?! What is it?!" the old man cried, hobbling to the door just in time to watch The Doctor walk off into the distance. There was no emotion on his face, no sadness, no anger, not even frustration but simply icy cold nothingness. That nothingness followed him all the way to his TARDIS where he immediately had his time machine scan for anything related to the crack and or Sonya's necklace. For the longest time, there was nothing but dead silence and the echoing hum of the TARDIS. To The Doctor it was the perfect time to have the event replay again and again inside of his head. The light, the voice, and Sonya's last words spinning around in his consciousness before a beeping sound emitted from the scanner. 21st Century London, Dark Matter abnormality Read the scanner as The Doctor looked at it, "Worth a look" The Doctor sighed, forcing off the blank glare off of his face as he bolted around the TARDIS controls before yanking the lever, "Allons-y!".
