Underneath That Burnt Old Sky (Closed to 10,11,Lord Rassilon and Romana II)

The Doctor listened closely to the whole conversation he'd not been apart of. He spun around and saw two figures that his past self had particularly taken interest in. He looked at the woman and boy who'd just showed up in front of him. A smile appearing on his face, he shot up, as he was kneeling. "Well. I can't say that I remember exactly what happens, but I think I jumped in there." he said, chuckling. "But for now, i'll be right back." he said, running into his TARDIS. He came out with a bright red fez atop his head.

((I think Rassilon's next. Or 10. I'm not sure. There's not much for Romana to do, other than sigh at the fact that 11's wearing a fez))

Rassilon paused for a moment as The Other Doctor babbled for a moment,rushed into his TARDIS and came back out wearing some sort of conical red headwear. "Ah yes,The successor. How foolish of me to forget you." He sighed quietly,before gesturing to The Doctors and Romana to follow him out the door. He looked around for a moment before murmuring "Yes....this way..." or something to that effect and setting off down the long corridor.

Romana made a facial expression somewhere between a smirk and an eye roll as she listened to the Doctor explain exactly why it would be in Rassilon's best interest to allow her to come along. That is, until the Doctor came back out of his TARDIS wearing a fez.

Romana rubbed the bridge of her nose. "And the very first thing I'll tell you you did wrong was that hat."

She motioned for the fez-wearing Doctor to follow her as she fell into step behind Rassilon.

Well, it was better than being arrested.

The Doctor cautiously glanced down the passing hallways and rooms as they strode by them; a part of his mind keeping track of where his shoes were as to not step on the Lord Presidents long draping cape. The very thought actually brought a smirk on his face as he followed Rassilon before a thought came into mind. The thought of exactly where they were in the presidential palace. They were no longer walking through the main halls, instead they were going deeper and deeper with each step they took.

Soon, the walls and hallways had turned into rock and mud walkways after turning a quick corner and entering a hidden passage. The Doctor eyed the surrounding rock walls and damp, muddy, floors beneath them with curiosity. "I never knew these were here" He mumbled out loud as they approached an open area at the end of the hallway. In the center lay a crate, a brown age old crate that immediately drew a connection with the Hand of Omega to The Doctor. His eyes widened as he approached it, "But..i thought this was buried far away from Gallifrey" he exclaimed in amazement before something caught his eye.

Flipping on his brainy specs, The Doctor squatted next to the crate and noticed it was partially opened, air escaping from the crack. His eyebrow arched as he peered back to Rassilon and Romana, "Something tells me this isn't supposed to be open already".

((Bump))

Rassilon moved towards the ancient sealed cradle and pushed the lid aside with his gloved left hand. "This isn't right...no one else could have known the Hand's location, I personally ensured anyone who knew of it's presence here was trustworthy!" He exclaimed,peering inside the empty box and smelling the musty interior as he did so. "This is catastrophic...that Hand can turn stars into supernovas and it has been stolen from under my nose!"

Rassilon glanced over at The Doctor, the youthful-looking Time-Lord was kneeling just next to the large cradle and a frown hung over his face like a dark shadow. "The council...or what's left of it must be alerted, the Hand could be a factor or even the cause of the Time-Field's appearance on Gallifrey. If it is then we must take measures to find and recover it immediately." He continued without waiting for a response.

Rassilon fell silent for several moments, then ran his bare right hand along the length of the box. To anyone watching it would seem like he was simply touching the old box absent-mindedly as something to keep his hand busy with while thinking, in actuality he was feeling it for any irregularities like marks or scratches...perhaps even a calling card from the perpertrator.

((Yea, i'm sorry guys. finals are comin up, and i've been cramming. Might wanna just pretend I wasn't in the topic, and maybe i'll come back in later.)))

"Perhaps your people were not as trustworthy as you think. If they were the only ones other than you to know of its location here, they should be the first questioned about its current whereabouts." Romana peered around the room. "I don't suppose there's a secret way out of here, Lord President?"

Giving up the search of the walls, she turned to the floor. "I see no footprints other than our own. though we might have covered them up..."

((I am working on a new idea for a Time Line for a new Event. I scraped splinters in time but i am thinking about using the central plot of this RP again in the new time line. So keep your eyes open for it guys))

Rassilon scratched his chin in thought. "....When this room was first built under the palace I made sure there was only one entrance, one way to get in and one way to get out. If someone had the knowledge of this place to come here take the secret it held then it is only natural to assume they would be a member or members of the inner circle." He said slowly.

"If the person or persons are indeed a part of it...then the number of Time-Lords I can completely trust has just shrunk quite considerably..." Rassilon cast his gaze downwards just as Romana had and examined the cracked and dusty stone floor for anything out of the ordinary. "While it is possible we may have covered up potential footprints it is also equally likely that whoever did this made.....precautions to cover their tracks. Both figuratively and literally."

The Doctor arched his eyebrow as he pondered the situation deeply, his hand running across the stone coffin like crate before an idea sprung into his mind. An idea that made his spine shudder with fear at the very thought. "The number of Time Lords who know about this place is limited...the number of Time Lords who know whats in here is even more and i am guessing the number of ones that can actually open this are down to just a handful" The Doctor brainstormed out loud, getting up slowly as every idea lead to one conclusion and the image of that conclusion nailed itself permanently into his mind.

Turning to Rassilon, The Doctors facial expression dropped to that of unrelenting seriousness, "Where is Omega buried?" he asked him, simply and coldly, hoping the Lord President could connect the dots just from that statement alone, "I think we need to look at more than just that high council...and open our minds to all possibilities".

Romana's brain was working overtime with all the possibilities. She continued to circle the room, inspecting the stone walls, floor, ceiling.

Her eyes narrowed as she turned towards the Doctor. "You think someone resurrected Omega." After a moment's thought, she shook her head. She couldn't think of anyone, personally, who would want to do that. She turned to Rassilon, the question in her eyes.

Rassilon's eyes grew colder at the mention of that name..."Omega"

"You believe that someone...resurrected him? That they....recovered his mind?" He asked incredulously. "I would bury that suggestion as swiftly as it was brought up...but as you say Doctor, we must open our minds to any and all possibilities...no matter how unsavoury the suggestion may be. It has been so long...and I was informed that Omega had survived, that he had repeatedly tried to escape a universe of his own creation back to our own. That his consciousness was lost...of course it would be possible to resurrect him...just as we did with The Master.." Rassilon paused from his reply to The Doctor as if in deep thought, then continued.

"Omega's body was destroyed centuries ago in....the incident, he was pulled into a supernova as you both already know. However, some small amount of hs bio-data was preserved in memory of his sacrifice, it is possible that he could have been resurrected from this....though the data is held in The Bureau. Though it's entirely possible that it was removed once looms were no longer needed by Time-Lords."

The Doctor listened to Rassilon's reply, seeing the facial expression of the Lord President shift from that of outlandish humor at the thought to a more serious deep ponder on the subject, "Then could it be possible for someone to take his bio-matter and reconstruct enough of him...then...i don't know. Trigger a regeneration?".

Thinking further on what he just said, The Doctor arched his eyebrow and glanced from Romana then to Rassilon, "A brand new Omega..newly regenerated and brought back to life. If he played off being someone else then you wouldn't be able to tell it was him...." he added before his eyes finally landed and stuck on Rassilon, "Who exactly in the high council do you trust the most?".

"Who exactly in the high council do you trust most?" Rassilon arrived at the answer before The Doctor had even finished speaking. "The Chancellor.....the one who sent it back...the rhythm..The Master's insanity. He was the one I trusted most, he was tasked with informing me of current events during the Time-War...I never once questioned him, doubted him." Anger crept into his voice as he spoke. "If he was Omega, then perhaps his return was planned and executed long before The Hand was stolen...of course! What an old fool I've been! He sought to gain my trust so I would reveal The hand's location to him...he infiltrated the inner circle!"

Rassilon ran his bare right hand through his greying hair in frustration and rage. "If it wasn't Omega who did this, I would kill him myself....but my friend...my ally...betrayed me, tricked me and stole from me; and now...now he endangers Gallifrey and everyone on it, and for what?!" Rassilon went silent, breathing heavily through his nose. He glanced over at the old casket which had held The Hand and said quite simply: "No"
