The H'Carth

Name: H'Carth

Appearance: The H'tcarth are a tall species, ranging from 6- 8 feet tall. They have ears embedded inside of their skull, and large fangs, along with claws, and eyes with slit pupils. Their clothing closely resembles humans. But, although they resemble humans, their anatomy is vastly different. They have two stomachs, one inserts acid in the objects, and the other crushes them. This lets them eat bones and teeth, and other hard things. Their jaws can open very wide; and unhinge when eating prey, and they have an extremely long, rough, bristled tongue, which when kept in mouth, lines their throats.

They have larger lungs, to make sure that the sugary atmosphere on the planet they dwell on doesn’t have adverse affects them, as the planet they dwell on has a heavily saturated atmosphere. This, pertains to why Night enjoys sugary foods, as they subconsciously remind her of her home. They have much harder ribs, due to the constant battle, as they, as a whole species are rather violent, and quick to aggression. Their weak points are the tailbone, and pelvic area. These are the more sensitive parts on their body, and can cause a large amount of pain, and it doesn’t take much to absolutely shatter the bone. They’re not excessively strong, and rely on their keep hearing and smell to find their prey. Their jaws are the strongest part of their body, having the ability to snap through pieces of wood with little to no damage.


Attitude: They undergo an animalistic heat every year; for about a week or so; and the males and females live separately in different provinces when not in mating season. The males raise the young, regardless of gender, but if they are female, and they hit the age of puberty, they hand them over to the females of their species, who proceed to sever ties between the child and their caretaker. The majority of the species views mating as something casual, something that shouldn’t be put in high respect, and favours romantic relationships more so.


Technology: They are in many ways, a primitive species, even if their technology is more advanced than that of Earth. They have yet to get rid of the concept of slavery, or heavy discrimination by race. In fact; many on the planet view it as normal, and to be expected. The species’ have people who comb through the populus, grabbing who ever they deemed unworthy of mingling with the ‘civilized’ and put them to work without pay; and they are stuck that way for the rest of their life.



Backstory: Another race had been preying on them for a while now, waiting for the perfect time to attack the planet, and take them for usage for forced labor, breeding, and war. Due to the fact the race that had attacked them was incredibly powerful and war bent; caused them to fall quickly. Night’s mother, an already established slave; was sent to be the mate of a governor; and used that position to let the other race infiltrate the government, and demolish it from the inside.

Present: They are a mostly enslaved race now; being worked to death, and bred to serve and obey their every command. They are sold, and given away as gifts to other races, used as farmers, factory workers, soldiers, etc.

Just had a read through, maybe explain the other race in a bit more detail. Why did they start targeting the H'Carth as a slave race and wouldn't their attitude of aggression clash with their status of being a slave race?

The other race (I had called them 'The Forken' in a previous ask; and oh, how I loathe the name; but, here it is; though I should redo it soon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) had a bit of a power complex; taking over everything they'd be able to. It was a matter of pride, rather than convenience. They saw it as a challenge; a horribly stubborn race that they had to break. The H'Carth have a high meaning of dominance and hold it in high regards- so, kill a few of their own and they'll tone down a bit; because the other had established dominance. Anywho had defied their captor race's wishes would suffer death, or worse. And due to the large amount of children that are being raised on the planet at any period of time; made it easy to mold and raise the next generation in their ideal aspect.

This is something that isn't quite making sense to me...why do they decide to do it the way they have set forth in the relationship? Why do they only hand over the females of the species? What makes them say that mating is not to be put into high respect?

They are an animalistic species; as said; they were technologically advanced, though actively behind personality wise. It's instinct, mixed with tradition, too; the giving of the females. They are a separate race; the males and the females just don't get along. They are and incredibly animalistic, sexist, and arrogant species. Mating isn't held in high respects because it's natural for them; they have a season dedicated to it; it's an event, that isn't embarrassing in any aspects; because it's so common.
