The mighty race, Cel

Sonya looked out from the doors and down at Theta with an amused smile on her face. "Enjoying your first steps on the planet? Or are you just trying to commune with the ground?" She tilted her head then shook it with a sigh before reaching down to help her friend back on his feet. "You really should be careful when running out of the TARDIS like that, you'll end up breaking something one of these days. What if we had parked on the edge of a tall building? You'd have fallen and became a smear on the ground below." Sonya said, her arms folding over her chest while eyeing him closely to be sure he didn't sustain any serious injury besides a swollen nose and red forehead.
Once she was sure he would be fine, Sonya turned her attention to their surroundings with curiosity. "Where are we anyway? I thought we were going to Balien? You said something about seeing fish that flew in the sky like birds. We aren't surrounded by legitimately flying fish, so I would like to note, again, we aren't where you said we would be." Turning back to Theta, she broke into a grin and laid an arm across his shoulders. "Thanks, couldn't have been a better surprise if you had planned it."

Theta half-glared at her, removing his hands from his now pink face, though the smile gave away that he really wasn't mad at her. How could he be? The two always teased each other about trivial things, though most of the time it was Sonya doing the teasing, due to Theta's habit of either doing stupid things or landing the TARDIS somwhere or somewhen other than the intended destination.

"Ok, fine, we may have made a little...detour. But I swear, next time I'll get it right, and we will see those flying fish!" Theta looked around the small area they were in curiously. Small wooden shelves lined the walls, with cleaning supplies and various gear type items thrown onto them messily. It...it looked like they were in a cupboard. The young Timelord cautiously reached forward, grabbing the handle of the door he had run into and opening it. He blinked away the bright light that assaulted his eyes. Outside was a small metal corridor, square lights set into the ceiling. A large rectangular window that stretched far in either direction showed a spectacular view; they orbited above a planet which was very Earth-like in color. Theta could see other areas around like theirs, the floating structures twisted like snakes, turning slowly in the gravity.

"Woah...not bad for landing in a cupboard"

Sonya peered over his shoulder and sucked in a soft breath at the sight. "I'll have to agree with you there. Not exactly flying fish, but a space station that practically wraps around an entire planet? That is pretty close to the top." Slipping past Theta, she walked over to the window to get a better view, her eyes lighting up in wonder at the sight in front of her. No matter how many years she might have traveled with Theta, or the Doctor for that matter, she would never get used to sights like this. Just incredible at how any race could come up with such a complex design over a planet was beyond her own imagination. Turning back around, she flashed him a grin and held out a arm for her friend to take. "Come on, might as well go exploring while we're here. Might run into some of the people that built this place. I would love to ask some questions..." Her eyes wandered over to the window again, marveling at the sight once more. In all honesty, she probably wouldn't understand a word of what they said about how this brilliant station was built, but she would still love to hear the story as to how they came up with the idea in the first place. Living above a planet, it doubled a planet's capacity for any species or race easily. If only Earth could come up with something like that, there would be less worrying about space and more time to be put towards taking care of the needs.
Turning back to Theta, she linked her arm with his and began tugging him down a corridor so they could get moving. "Come on, I want to see more of this place. There has to be something around here that has people hanging around."

Theta nodded, giving the window one more glance then following his friend down the corridor. If that was amazing, he couldn't wait to meet the people who made it! Not many species could blend art and utility so well; not only was it beautiful, but Theta could see from the design that it was structured to be the most efficient it could be.

Not much longer after wandering down all the corridors, trying desperately to find any trace of living people, the two ran into a person. And when I say ran into, I mean literally; they were turning a corner than ran right into them. Theta stumbled back, nearly losing his balance. He looked up; they were very heavily concealed, with everything from a cloak to a creepy mask with glowy blue things where the eyes were supposed to be. Theta wondered if their eyes actually looked like that.

"Erm, yeah, sorry..." he did his best to look confused, which wasn't hard, seeing as he actually was confused "could you point us in the direction of the...erm, place where visitors are supposed to go? We kind of got lost, took a few wrong turns"

Sonya ducked her head own and managed a sheepish expression as the robed figure observed them in silence. After a few moments, she shifted from foot to food nervously, not sure what to do or say to the figure as it continued to stare at them. "What do we do? It's just standing there..." She finally whispered to Thet out of the corner of her mouth, refusing to move her eyes away from the creature in front of her should it make a move the second she looked away. "I mean... Maybe it can't talk or something."

"I..." Theta's eyes darted around as he thought of an excuse. He unsurely pointed a finger at Sonya.

"She's...mentally unstable. Gets these odd impulses. Ran off, I had to go find her, turns out she was hiding in...a broom cupboard" he gave Sonya a unconvincing glare "Now Sonya, don't run off again, we need to find that guide..."

He dragged his friend along and around the figure, giving a sheepish wave and a 'sorry' as they walked off. As soon as they had turned the corner and were out of earshot, Theta breathed a sigh of relief. He sent a small nervous grin in Sonya's direction, knowing she wouldn't really be happy about the excuse he made up.

"Rassilon Sonya, don't give me that look, at least we got around them..."

Sonya scowled at him, her arms folded over her chest as she walked along behind him. "You can be the mental paitent next time we run into anyone." She added with a sniff then flashed him a small grin then bumped her shoulder against his lightly. "Oh stop being nervous. I've been called worse, much much worse." Turning her attention back to the hallway, she studied the split ahead and guestured in a random direction. "That look alright to you?"

How many Timelords had survived the war? The answer was becoming increasingly disturbing. Siren had memorized the scent if a Timelord after makin it her mission to hunt them, and those two stank of it. She suddenly regretted leaving her gun behind and turned, making an effort to silently follow Sonya and Theta.

Theta shrugged, looking down the hall, trying to remember Siren's directions. Second hall on the...right? No, first on left...or was there a three in there somewhere? Oh well, they didn't need a map; they always got by without them. He nodded his head in response to Sonya's question.

"Random direction, here we come!" he glanced around the halls, trying to memorize some of the signs and identifying features "though we might need to remember which supply closet we landed in, if we end up needing to get a quick getaway. We always seem to need to do that. First rule I learned in the Academy; remember where you parked. You should have seen me first year out traveling; kept leaving the chameleon circuit on and forgetting where she was. One time on Kalrore, I parked in a forest, then she disguised herself as a tree...spent hours trying to find her again"

Sonya cleared her throat and gestured to herself with her eyebrows raised up in question. "I remember what the closet looked like inside. It wouldn't take much for me to open a door and take us there you know..." She said then shook her head and glanced at another windowpane as they passed it, once again struck silent at the beauty she saw outside of the thick glass. Stopping quickly, she walked over and pressed a hand to the cool surface, watching as a small ship docked on a port directly across from where they were. "In all the years I could end up traveling around the universe... I don't think I'll ever get used to sights like these."

She listened to the two's voices, waiting. For the time when it would be appropriate to move.

Theta blushed pink. Oh, right. He sometimes forgot Sonya could open doors, like a person version of the Portal gun. In their travels, they attempted to not use it unless necessary, since it took a lot of energy to do so. He nodded in response to Sonya's next words, pausing in his walk in order to just look outside. His eyes shone with wonder, reflecting the inky black sky in front of them.

"Yeah. All those planets out there, all the species, all that beauty. Every single dot of light out there is a star, a massive ball of gas and fire that brings life to planets...I still haven't seen a fraction of what there is out there to see; eleven years just isn't enough"

Sonya nodded in thought, glancing over at Thet with a small smile before motioning that they should keep going. "Come on, shouldn't be long before they realize they have two visitors they haven't accounted for. And it might be awkward answering questions right now considering I don't think we're allowed in this part." She added, glancing around the empty hallway with a small frown before spotting a door just ahead of them. "Oh hey, look, that might be a viewing platform. Visitor area, come on." Grabbing his hand, Sonya drug Thet towards it and pulled the door open to duck inside.

Siren consulted her memory for a moment, and began working the long way around through a series of turns in more metal corridors to reach their destination at roughly the same time.

The Viewing platform was, to say, spectacular. The reason the Galaxy was called the Milky Way was obvious, for the stars were painted across the sky, clusters and dots everywhere, structured so that it gave the illusion of milk having been spilt across the surface of the sky...radioactive milk, perhaps, since the stars glowed.

But that wasn't all. The stars only made up one half of the sky. The rest belonged to both the floating civilization's structures and the planet below. Theta could only utter a few words, the only words that could properly describe the wonder and amazement he felt at the moment.

"Wow..."

Sonya smiled in amazement, her hand automatically reaching over to grip his as she stared at the view in front of them. "We've been here for about a hour now, and we're still shocked at what we see. Shows how much we know about the universe." She mumbled under her breath to him, unable to tear her eyes away from the image. Not even Vincent could make something this beautiful... Sorry Vincent She thought wryly to herself, smiling slightly as she thought of his expression if he ever heard her think that.

She stopped in her tracks, and turned on a heel, sprinting back to the room she had been given for temporary residence. Two Timelords was a Pringles that would not be easy to solve. Her revolver would definitely prove useful here.
