Saving the Doctor Poem

I wrote this after seeing this picture:

When the clouds passed and the world was safe,
The people cried out and sung and danced.
Three were content as they looked down,
while rejoicing in their heroic deeds.
But a final look around they saw,
One was missing, one was gone.
In their haste to cheer and celibrate,
The most important one was lost.
Search for hours did they do,
the people they queried, the police they asked,
but as they turned into their drive,
their precious one they could not find.
A break of luck delivered a note,
one they tore open with ardor and fervor,
their brows drew close as they read what was wrote,
we have your friend and it's far too late.
So with eyes turned upwards to the sky,
they made a silent vow to keep,
and as they ventured out, they knew
they'd find their friend, they promised him that.
